84 Lumber - Moundsville, WV

If I could give no stars I would. My husband and I run a construction company. After waiting the promised 3 weeks for materials we were told it would be another 2 weeks. At 6 weeks we were told we don't have it, can't find it, probably can't get it. So we asked for our money back (deposit on materials). They wrote the check to a different surname. When asked when we could get a check we were told we don't typically write checks until Tuesday or Thursday. We are 2 months out with no product and now you can't drive a check 45 minutes to give me my money. How do these people stay in business? I'll drive 45 minutes out of my way not to do business here.

Very knowledgeable and helpful staff. Goodly supply of lumber. Their pricing is high, not very competitive with other like businesses. But . . . they are the "big fish" in town and practically the only fish of their species in town. If you are buying in volume there are other business's outside of Moundsville where better prices can be found, but not if your only buying singular items or in bulk.

All these years and I was not aware 84 was open on Sundays. Only 1 to 3 sales and yard staff on this day but TBH any more than that is annoying anyway as they all try to overly help you but this was not the case. Very friendly and helpful (not pushy) sales attendant and a quick and eager yard manager. All in all a great experience as always
