I called Elias at 631 Construction based on positive Google reviews I read, so here is mine. The front steps on my home were in bad shape, probably 40 years old or more. Originally I was going to tackle this project myself, but I'm sure glad I didn't. I estimated $1000 in materials before buying necessary tools that I don't own. The first number Elias quoted me was less than I would have spent. It was such a a good price that I opted to spend a little more and go with black aluminum spindles instead of wood.

This is not a criticism of their work, but if I had to do it again I might have requested wider stairs. Functionally these are plenty wide (wider than the door at the top), so it's just an aesthetic preference. But wider stairs means more stringers and longer deck boards and higher cost. This is only to say that if you do have a very specific vision, make sure you share that. I'm sure they can build it just how you want it. Budget was at the forefront of my mind.

Elias gave me a quote on a Friday. The next Monday we signed a contract. Permits were done, holes dug, inspected, and footings poured on Tuesday. By noon a week from our first phone call, I had new steps. Turnaround probably isn't always quite that fast, but this was a small project and I think he mentioned a previous client backed out of a project and he was able to fit me in sooner. I will definitely consider 631 Construction for future work.

I used 631 Construction twice during a recent remodel. They fixed a sagging wall/corner of my kitchen, and replaced 1/2 round throughout the apartment. Excellent work. Good price. Pleasure to work with.
