I live in GA and was hesitant to purchase out of state. I couldn’t have been more wrong about my hesitation. Two thumbs up only because I don’t have three.

Just picked up my Fiero from Classic Auto Factory. Great storage facility. Car was clean and ready to go. Will definitely use again, next time both of my Fieros!

Would highly recommend for any of your car needs! Car storage mechanical work they can do it all and are very professional. I’m very picky about my vehicles and the building is immaculate.

I recently visited The Classic Auto Factory in DeKalb, IL, and was impressed by the sheer scale of their operation. Housed in a massive 100,000-square-foot facility, they offer a one-stop shop for classic car enthusiasts—everything from restoration and repair to sales and storage. The concept of streamlining the process, avoiding the usual back-and-forth between mechanics and body shops, is a refreshing idea and could save a lot of time if executed well.

The staff seemed knowledgeable and passionate about vintage cars, which is a big plus for anyone trusting them with a prized possession. The indoor setup is a standout feature—knowing my classic would never sit outside in the harsh Illinois weather gave me peace of mind. I also appreciated the attention to detail in their presentation, from the showroom layout to the little touches like the Rainbow Playset for kids, making it feel family-friendly.

Not only they do old school but also the new vehicles very impressed with the work they’ve done.

I’ve had a Nissan there for storage and they kindly pointed out some service that needed to be done. I had an oil leak coming from my turbo. Which was really hard to pinpoint as I usually do work on my own vehicles. And I gave them an opportunity to change and service my vehicle and they did. reasonable price and very quick. Will be coming back.

Purchased a 2022 Ram 1500 Laramie early 10/2024. Wanted to go over the process since and the purpose of the rating/review.

Located the vehicle on CarGurus, did my homework and reached out to begin discussing a potential purchase. Took a few back and fourth calls but linked up with the sales rep to discuss.. CarGurus only had about 6-7 pics and he sent me another 20 to look over. Vehicle appeared clean.

Agreed on the as is price without any initial desire to discuss it via negotiations.

Was told the truck was purchased by the owner at an auction, driven for abit and then decided to get rid of the truck. During this time a roll at and soft tonneau cover the owner installed.

Vehicle came with a self installed roll bar (from Amazon, more later on this) and a soft tonneau bed cover.

Financing from my CU went slower than one would hope but dealer/sales rep were great in this aspect. Financing finalized and was sent pics of the vehicle being loaded up via the transport company… I wish there was a chance for me to source a transport company because it was 1100ish from IL to WY and quotes I began poking around on were in the ballpark of 700-900.

Truck arrived several days later late at night. Began scoping it out in the morning to find out the interior was beyond dirty, candy wrappers, pet hair, spilled soda all over the front console, passenger seatbelt buckle (made it so wouldn’t secure), pieces of food all inside and conspicuously out of the images I was sent. Had to spend about 100 bucks in cleaning stuff and 5-6 hours to get all this cleaned up… reached out to the sales rep and got no answers back about this.

Transport company had to take the roll bar off for transport purposes. I went to install it and come to find out there is no wiring harness… did research and found it was from a seller on Amazon only named Keehosx (or something similar)… when sold it is in 4 pieces, 2 sides, center connector, and the wiring kit so it can go into the cab brake light/reverse light casing… this wiring harness was not sent/included effectively making the roll bar useless as it would block the cab brake/reverse light casing…. Furthermore the dealer decided to drill into the truck bed sides to mount this, would be nice *IF* the wiring harness was included because now each side has 2 drill holes which serve no purpose.

I would like to believe in terms of an out of state sale that a dealer would take extra steps in terms of customer service/satisfaction hence what I went over above can’t currently give a better rating than 3 stars… if the dealership would like to make amends on what I addressed up I’m happy to reevaluate the rating.

In terms of an out of state purchase I’d advise people to not entertain this… in state is obviously going to be better because you can go hands on.

So living in Wyoming and buying online was an understatement of a challenge.. The WY DMV is an absolute joke of an entity and refused to title the truck until ridiculous steps were followed above and beyond what the website says to do… Classic Auto factory stepped in and helped navigate the problems caused by WY and made it all right… They called and apologized about the vehicles lack of detailing and would correct this in the future with their detailing crew.

Fully Impressed. Trustworthy Facility with strong ownership and passion for classic cars. Sold a car for me, did an excellent job advocating for the pricing I wanted. Service and Storage! Stored 2 vehicles at Classic Auto Factory. Well taken care of. Clean facility, heated well. Can't ask for better. Convenient location off I-88. See Darius, Rimante, Wally, and the Team. All very flexible and understand the nuances that arise in ownership and love of classic cars.

Goodmorning to the entire Classic Auto Factory Staff, Your company most definitely has the right name because everyone that I have dealt with from the business has been a class act before, during, and I after the sale especially when one day I was sitting on my couch and it was a number that I did not recognize and as must of us do if you don't recognize the number you don't answer but on this particular day I decided to answer it and it was one of the best decisions that I have ever made because it was Riamante calling from what I considered to be out of the blue at the time for a purchase follow-up I was completely BLOWN away! I have purchased many cars both new and used over the years and NEVER have I received such a call that I was so thankful to have received and answered! There is no question that I would be a repeat customer if I were in the market for another vehicle as well as recommend them to all that I know it worked out extremely well considering that I just happen to stumble on to their website, THANK YOU CLASSIC AUTO FACTORY!

Great bunch of folks. I not only store my 69 Chevelle SS convertible with them, but they also do some mechanical work for me. Excellent service and super easy to work with.

No real mechanics work here, only parts exchangers who guess at the problem while overcharging you on things you don’t even need.. Went for vibration issue, they got rid of my nice white walls saying it was tires, it wasn’t, had to eat that. Now they guess motor mounts. Which they said they couldn’t find. Got on the internet found em in two minutes. When I got it back the first time, no decency to wipe the car down like some backyard alley work, greasy fingerprints and smudges ALL over the fenders, fan belt installed wrong, alternator bolt was about to fall of. Grease literally all over the engine and my driveway when I got it home. Said they’ll make it right so they fixed the belt and loose alt bolt, then made another guess that the steering oil was coming from the leaking gasket, when in reality they overfilled the reservoir. Soon as it built up pressure it shot out from the top and hit the fan and blew oil everywhere, didn’t even clean that up when it went back. Paid OVER 8k for an air conditioner that doesn’t fully work. Shadiest work I have ever seen in my life.

We purchased a 1976 Datsun 280z from these guys, and it was the best car buying experience I've ever had. The car was 7 hours away, so we planned on having it shipped to us once we purchased it. But since the car was not going to be seen in person, they were happy to take as many pictures and videos as we asked for, and didn't hesitate to answer any questions or check anything out for us. Communication was top notch, even handled all of the paperwork and shipping/delivery for us. We literally sent a check, and had a car delivered to us with practically no work done on our end. These guys handled everything for us, and made the whole process super easy, and super quick. We really appreciate everything, and I would definitely recommend them to anyone!

Bought an 09 Chrysler 300 srt8, they were very professional and had paperwork going before I got there had me in and out in no time. Oh yeah walked thru the shop with all the cars and had to look at next projects to. I would recommend to anyone looking for a classic or hotrod.

Stored my Moms 1990 Mustang GT this winter and just picked it up today. Great experience when we dropped it off in December. Easy.

Pick up process, even better. Car was already pulled up front and ready to roll.

That's just the experience with storage. The overall decor and cool old cars on display was impressive.

I came across the Classic Car Factory in a FaceBook ad for storage and I made arrangements to store my car over the winter. One visit is all you need to see that these folks truly enjoy working with vintage/specialty vehicles and their owners. The wide variety of vehicles being stored/serviced/for sale reflects the range of interest in this hobby. It is enjoyable to do business with folks who share your passion.

Fixed all the small problems I had when the car was pitched. They fixed them all on the first try.

Classic Auto Factory has got to be the number one custom car fabricator in Northern Illinois. Darius & Rimante are great people to deal with & treat every customer like a member of the family. I won’t forget to mention the excellent craftsmen, Josh, Jeff & Brian.

They did exactly what I asked and did a great job. They accomplished the project quickly and at a reasonable cost.

Great place to talk vintage cars and friendly staff. My family member got a deal on a 57 Bel Air and was treated with great respect for being a Vietnam Veteran.

Clean facilities, also nice people to have business with. I’ve had 2 of my cars stored here without any problems during the past 2 years.

I have had nothing but top notch service and sales experience. I’ve been doing business with this establishment for a year now. Their pricing is competitive but more importantly competent professionals with many years of experience do the work.

I can’t say enough positive things about this company and Darius that I was talking to. He was patient and very accommodating to me being out of town and needing more info on a car they have for sale there. He sent me videos, specific pics, and picked up the phone every time I called or text. Do yourself a favor and give these guys a try.

Let me preface by saying I don’t like to leave negative reviews.

Earlier in the year I contacted them seeing if they have room for 2 of my trucks to store over the winter months. They had availability and we struck a deal and I signed a contract and sent over my information. Then months later I received a call saying that they were not going to uphold their end of the deal and were very short with me. I tried reaching out and they blocked me.

I took my 65 Mustang here to troubleshoot an electrical issue. They turned around the work in less than a week, that is fast for a classic car, would service here again.

I depend on these guys to do all the work on my 95 Vette. Work is very thorough and complete. Store my car here in the winter too! Great value.

I was amazed by the classic auto sales service at The Classic Auto Factory in DeKalb. They sold my 1948 Willy's Overland Jeepster in record time, fetching an unexpected price. "Highly recommended for anyone seeking the best price for their classic cars.

I’ve recently bought my first classic car and these guys have done such a great job taking care of me and helping me make the right decisions for my investment. So friendly and knowledgeable, the facility itself is so cool as well, it’s like a museum. I would highly recommend!

I typically save my time spent on giving reviews to the ones who deserve to be recognized because of their outstanding service.

It takes a really negative experience for me to take the time to write a review like this, because I know how it can effect one`s business when a simple mistake is made by an employee, or when dealing with an impatient customer.

This review is written under completely different circumstances than that, and if you take the time needed to read this review, you`ll understand why I feel they should change their name to "Crappic Auto Fuctory"
This review serves as a warning to anyone who might be looking to invest their hard earned money into a reputable business that will make sure you are getting what you paid for.

Crappic Auto Fuctory masks their lack of performance, communication, quality of service, and most importantly their promised word, behind a flashy website and some smooth talking.

If there`s anything you`re guaranteed to get, it`s a professional B.S. session.

Only because Google has a character limit on their review process, I`ll highlight the B.S. (trust me, original review was much more lengthy and detailed than this).

Bought a $44,000 Mustang from them.
Had issues they agreed to fix before I had flown out to see the car.
Issues still there when I arrived 2 weeks later, had to jump start the car, car filthy.
I ignored red flags, made a deal with Crappic Auto Fuctory that included fixing original issue.....power steering line busted and hanging from bottom of car, and restoring FACTORY gages to operating condition.
Waited 6 WEEKS for them to fix these simple issues (they made excuses parts took forever to get in....more B.S.)
Finally get car, battery dead, battery laying sideways because no hold-down was placed on it.
Back of car soaking wet from back window trim being sealed with silicone (probably when they shoved the after-market louvers in) and it was shipped in the rain (shipping by them negotiated in deal).
Busted "fixed" power steering line after first turn into driveway, "expert mechanics" at the Fuctory installed wrong hard steel line.
FACTORY gages the Fuctory was supposed to fix not all working.

I`m into over $3,000 just to get the car road safe, and not even done yet.
The sold me a $2 can of worms disguised as a $100 jar of caviar.

Called the salesman and told him, I understand completely, as frustrated as I am with their lack of honesty and quality workmanship.....that it was my responsibility to inspect the car fully and I wasn`t trying to hold them responsible for the work that needed to be done.....
Except 1 thing (nope, not even the agreement made to fix the FACTORY gages)....the power steering line.
The B.S. artists at the Crappic Auto Fuctory won`t even reimburse me the $120 for the power steering line fix.
$120 out of the $43,999 + the extra $500+ I handed over for the speedometer part they needed.
So, I figured I`d give them what they asked for, and I paid myself that $120 to give them this honest review.

I`d buy my next car from anyone other than the Crappic Auto Fuctory if I were you, and I certainly wish I had!

I’ve been storing my Chevelle out here since they opened up this spot. They’ve transformed the massive warehouse into an awesome shop, storage space and car display. Planning to get car work done by them in the near future.

I was recommend by a friend and had an opportunity to meet some of the staff who very friendly. I was pleased with the work the performed and their customer service for my friend. So I took a dive and recently had some work done. I was very pleased with the quality and attention to detail. I would use them again.

We have had our car stored here for 2 years! This place is amazing. They do everything! They are very very reasonable in comparison to anywhere else to store a classic car. My husband and I just recently got the chance to tour the facility with Al and it really is amazing the amount of care and effort they put into storing the cars and fixing them. We are planning on getting some work done in the fall this year with them. I can't recommend enough!

Very happy with the customer service, professionalism and quality work. I was kept in the loop every step of the way and they found more affordable options rather than running up the bill. I would definitely recommend them and I will be returning for more upgrades .

Always a pleasure doing business. I’ve bought, sold and serviced here and it’s a pleasure each time. The guys do a great job at keeping my Mustang up to date with maintenance and the upgrades I’ve wanted done over the past year. Getting hard to find honest work for a decent price but these guys are where it’s at.

Very awesome shop that Darius has going on here! Great group of folks that work there! It’s really cool sight to see what’s being built here in Dekalb! What sets them apart and is pretty amazing to see a shop that is doing it all from service, builds, storage, sales, etc. all under one roof. I would recommend anyone that is into classic vehicles, or looking to get into classics vehicles should check them out.

These guys are shady. The owner is from Baltria in St. Charles which his family still owns. The picture shows how he treated customers there. Get everything in writing and don’t expect them to stand behind their work or warranty any car you buy unless you do. The parts mark ups are flat out robbery. While most of the work they did for me was adequate I feel that I was routinely overcharged for billing hours. They are all about the money and are happy to extract yours. I recognize many of the people rating this place 5 stars as employees. Forewarned is forearmed!
