Steve, Pat, and the team at 1 BFI have been great to work with. I uncovered a huge mess of an issue where a window was allowing water intrusion behind my siding which rotted the wood underneath over the course of many years and even deteriorated some of the structural framing and beams. Needless to say I was stressed out and realized it was beyond a DIY job. I called Steve out for an estimate after having worked with him on a previous smaller project and I saved his number because Steve was super easy to work with and has a focus on quality and doing the job right.

I was watching the forecast seeing rain coming so was not looking forward to going and getting tarps to try and temporarily protect the house myself. Turns out there was no need - Steve had also been watching the forecast, brought and installed the waterproofing measures himself when he came to give the estimate. That by itself was just a huge relief and showed what kind of business he runs - he had the foresight to treat my home like his own, even before he knew he was winning the bid for the repair.

Steve and his team took care of coordinating with a structural company to evaluate and replace the damaged wood, and once that problem was addressed they corrected the issue with the window, sealed it properly, and buttoned everything back up good as new. They answered every question I had a long the way, always responded to my texts, emails, always picked up when I called, and helped me coordinate with insurance. It is admittedly very hard to earn my recommendation, but these guys have absolutely earned it and I would trust them with any project on my home.

They exceeded my expectations by far. Very professional and kept me informed of anything. Will definitely use 1 B.F.I. for any future needs. A+++++++

We hired them to extend downspouts on a home and their work was not even close to what we spoke of. Two experts (one a hydrologist) commented how the shoddy installation was not even close to being a solution. They promised to “make it right” and sent a crew out to reinstall the drainage they way it should have been done in the first place. At that point I did not want them to do the job and told them I was using someone else. After they reinstalled the system anyway they are asking for an additional $1100 for the work they promised to fix. Imagine doing bad work then asking for more money for fix it. Terrible business model! This was after we paid $1800 for the original work. (For only three downspout extensions). Stay away from this unprofessional company. Fortunately I have proof and documentation of everything.

Update. They never asked for a diagram but only asked how deep and how long do the extensions need to go. I said fifteen feet out and they extended only 10 and capped the ends underground. The water had no place to go with that amount of volume. They said they would take care of it and now they want to get paid again. Attached is a picture I found of the masking tape they used to connect the pipes on the original. Anyone can tell this is not good. I signed no agreement for their second time around. The client expressed his reluctance to have them come back out so I told them not to. Your response is in no way what you had discussed with me. For the record, there was no water issue at the time of inspection but it developed after a clog happened during heavy rains. It technically was not in our scope to predict the future of the downspout system but I wanted to make the customer happy. My only fault was hiring you to do the work.
