Young Construction

After a hail storm in April I needed a new roof and siding. My roof was replaced yesterday. The guys showed up in the morning and layed down tarps to protect my landscaping, deck, and AC unit. They worked very efficiently. There was a chance of rain all day. They tore off the old roof in sections and immediately covered them to protect from any potential rain. They did additional work on the roof that I requested and handled my skylights very delicately. Clean up was done beyond my satisfaction. Once they left you couldn't tell they had been here. I'm sure I'll find a few nails as 100% retrieval isn't realistic, but they did thoroughly go over the yard with a magnet several times. Still waiting on insurance for siding, but I will be using young construction for that as well. The project manager Zeke has been great. He's answered my questions and always returned my texts or calls. Down to earth guy who is just easy to work with. Could have worked with any company that came from miles away to capitalize on the hail storm. I'm happy to keep my money local. Absolutely recommend.

Jamie was AWESOME to work with! She had Edwin & his crew working on our home, done in less than 3 days! Appreciate how well they cleaned up afterwards. We will be calling you Jamie when it comes time for a new roof.

The entire Young Construction staff were great to work with. Their costs were reasonable, they responded quickly to any questions and requests quickly. Austin kept us updated about the project every step of the way. The installation crew was responsible and respectful and worked hard to complete the job in one day. I highly recommend Young Construction!

Young Construction did a fantastic job. We just had our roof replaced on a 9-unit apartment complex that had some pretty steep inclines. From start to finish, they were incredibly professional. They had several prep calls to make sure the site was ready to go and everything was happening when it needed to. They were very informative of what was going to happen and when. They showed up when they said they would and they worked late the first day to make sure they got the project done quickly.

I highly recommend these guys!

My roof was damaged by a falling tree. The construction manager detailed the damage with photographs and drone video all forwarded to my insurance company and a reasonable estimate was provided and accepted. Upon arrival the crew was efficient and orderly. Unforseen problems with an older residence called for additional labor and material but the contractor stated they would work with my insurance for an equitable payment. Having roofed this house myself twice I knew how the job needed to be done, the crew obviously knew what to do, too. Their work and finished product was amazing and took just the one day to complete. I would highly recommend Young Construction for any roofing project, five stars.

They replaced my house siding, installed new gutters, installed new shingles after tearing off, all of which suffered severe hail damage.

Laurie, Jamie, Joe and the entire crew were excellent.

Did an awesome job! All shingles are in line as they snap chalk lines during installation and very thorough. Didn't feel like it was a rush job and crew took time planning. Great work!

Young Construction came out Saturday with about a dozen installers and removed defective shingles from 50% of my roof and reinstalled with new product. They are going to purse a warranty claim against the manufacturer, but regardless I now have new shingles and the defective materials were replaced. Previous review has been removed. Thank you for dealing with this issue.

Young Construction did an amazing job replacing the roof on our house. They came when they said they were going to be there and had the whole project done in a very reasonable time, they also did an excellent job on clean up when they were done. Zeke followed up a few days later to make sure everything went good and stopped by to check things over for himself and ti make sure we didn't have and questions or concerns. Very professional and easy to work with Company will definitely use them again if ever in need of there type of service in the future.

I had no idea where to start with the process of a new roof, Young Construction made it so easy! Jamie came out and looked at our roof, explained the process step by step, worked with our insurance company, helped us make educated color/style choices, and kept in constant contact throughout the entire process! Anytime I had questions she was quick to respond and extremely knowledgeable. I was extremely impressed with how quickly they were able to get us on the schedule. The roofing crew removed all the old shingles, installed the new, and had everything cleaned up in one day, they were extremely professional! Siding is next, we will definitely be using Young Construction!

Only giving 1 star because it wouldn’t allow me to make this post without giving a star. This company does NOT deserve a single star.

My family hired young construction last summer to replace a few windows, a patio door, and do some siding at my dad’s house. My father just had heart surgery so I met with Zeke from young construction out of the Mason City area. I explained to him exactly what we were looking for and a timeline we needed. He told me everything I wanted to hear so I hired him. He assured me that my dad’s house would be done before the end of August 2023. Even offered to do work for us on the side (which is against company policy)

I messaged him the middle of August to see when they were going to start after he assured me it would be done by the end of the month. He said it would be done before Labor Day weekend in September. September rolls in and we get a phone call about someone coming to measure the door and windows. Zeke was over 3 times before hand but apparently did not even measure anything. We were under the impression he ordered everything since he told us the job would be done by Labor Day. October comes around, I messaged Zeke asked for an update. He replied with “waiting on siding”. I called the company and the siding was actually already there. He lied to us.

November comes around and we were assured that they work year round regardless of the weather. They still didn’t start working on the house. After messaging Zeke about what we originally discussed and how upset we were getting, he was very unprofessional. Rude. Denied agreeing to anything even though we have the messages to prove it. He called the people we spoke to at his company liars.

December 1, 2023 is when they started working on the house. FINALLY! They ordered the wrong patio door. Opened the opposite direction and the lock does no work. They promised they would make it right (still to this day April 24, 2024 have not done that). They did not do the job correctly. We had someone who is knowledgeable about doing construction come take a look at the work, he apologized for the lousy job that we received. He pointed out everything wrong and what young construction should have done. It’s such a lousy job that the siding is already coming off and it hasn’t been 6 months yet. The job hasn’t even been finished. This guy made sure he was there when the company sent out a guy to speak to us. The man from the company was so unprofessional that he was yelling.

My brother has been blocked from the Facebook page due to writing a review. The house still is not done or fixed, it’s been almost a year since we signed the contract. We spend $34,000 to receive poor quality work, to get ignored, blocked, lied too, and the wrong door/without a lock.

I do NOT recommend this company. I cannot speak for the other young construction companies but the one by Mason City/Minnesota I highly DO NOT RECOMMEND

We like to do business locally. When it was determined our home needed a new roof and shingles we contacted Young Construction. From the first inspection to selecting materials and shingles, their representative was very professional. Jacob Ramon was our contact person. We received a timely estimate, and then we scheduled the work needed. He made sure the roofing job was completed on schedule and in a professional manner. Jacob inspected the work when it was finished and followed up with us by answering any of our questions. We are pleased with the results and would recommend Jacob at Young Construction for any of your construction projects.

Zeke was our representative. He was always professional and courteous. Anytime we had questions, he would be over to help. Awesome customer service! Young Construction worked with us every step of the way!

Terrible experience. Only thing that went decent was sitting down in office discussing pricing and materials. after signing the contract there was virtually no communication. After the job was complete I called my sales guy that gave and gave me estimates, turned out he no longer worked there. Nobody ever reached out to inform me of this. There were nails/screws left everywhere and slight damage to property. Took weeks to get an invoice, which was incorrect and didn't match the contract, took roughly a month to get a corrected invoice. Went to pay for the work and was told there was a 5% fee to use a card, not a huge deal but had to make an hour round trip to get my check book. Rate 1 out of 10. Will NEVER do business again and will NOT RECOMMEND anyone.

Very informative on what to expect from getting the estimate to final inspection. The response time of communication, answering questions and getting the project done was excellent. Very satisfied and would use them again.

Last fall we contacted several roofing companies for multiple roof replacements to be done in the spring. Jamie with Young Construction contacted us immediately and was out to the farm within days to help us. She was very knowledgeable, pleasant, and trust worthy. Jamie kept in contact with us threw the winter and notified us in the spring when the crew would be arriving.

The day before the crew arrived all the supplies were dropped off. Everything was neatly stacked and placed near the roofs to be done. The driver was very professional and pleasant to talk with, swapping a few farm stories.

The crew arrived the next day, I’ve never seen such a hard working team! They had amazing work ethics, they took pride in their work and cleaned up afterwards! They were friendly and they even took the time to roof our little dog house!

We are so pleased with the quality of roofing we received from Young Construction, we appreciate all the hard work from Jamie, the crew and all the other people that made it happen!

We had our house shingles and roofing that were crumbling and needed to be replaced. Zeke came in a couple weeks early, did a full assessment and provided a professional estimate, which was more detailed and a lower cost than other companies around our area. He and his crew came in, got everything done within one day and were able to provide fast and efficient service. Now, the house roof matches the garage roof, which should improve the resale value, as well. Thanks again, team! We’ll definitely recommend your work, going forward.

I worked with Jamie to select a siding that would help better insulate a very old house. She was very knowledgeable, shared great ideas, and listened to my concerns for the project to find a perfect match. Materials were neatly delivered: a courteous crew make quick work of the tear off and install and left the work area spotless, even stacking the surplus in a tidy group to be picked up the next morning. Jamie came back to see the finished work and how nice the project turned out. I’ve experienced good communication in every step of the process and friendly, knowledgeable people at every interaction with the company. The house looks great!

I would highly recommend Young Construction. From the time we contacted Eric he worked with us to get our roof completed on time. Our insurance company would not give us an extension since the original company we were working with did not get our roof finished last summer or fall. Eric made sure that everything was completed to the insurance company's specifications. Very pleased with how our roof looks & have gotten many compliments on the color that we choose. The roofers made sure to have everything picked up before they left.

Jason Crum was our project manager for replacing the damaged shingles on our roof. He was easy to reach and very flexible on meeting with us. The assistance with dealing with the insurance was great as well. The house is about 2500 square foot with the garage. The crew came in and had it done in one day. We were very pleased with the care they took to protect landscaping and other items. We ended up with a beautiful roof that helps with the curb appeal.
