We had a wonderful experience with Yama's Roofing. They were courteous, conscientious, and very professional. We had several questions that they very patiently answered, and the quality of their work is evident. Everyone we dealt with at the company was pleasant, and we have zero hesitation recommending them to others in need of roofing services. It is so reassuring to have a water-tight roof.

Yama’s Roofing did an excellent job! The crew worked well together and were polite and fast. Our house is 80 years old and my only regret is, I didn’t take a before and after picture.

Yama's Roofing has done an excellent job on a 40+ year old roof. Brian was knowledgeable, patient, and had answers to my many questions. They handled all aspects of the re-roofing, solar on/off roof as needed, electrical issues that arose during the project. Gutters were replaced as well. We too, had to wait our turn but patience has paid off and we are pleased with our new roof/gutters. The Drone view of the roof as it progressed was great and the crew is one of many talents.... fascia repair/replace, drywall repair as needed. Communication with Brian was terrific, phone, text, email.... very responsive. Kelly in the office "keeps it together"... Yeah Yama's!

Brian was very friendly and easy to work with. This was the second time using Yama's Roofing. I had my mom's roof replaced a few months back and did a great job! He was very prompt with his responses to our questions and concerns. They painted our roof while we were away on a trip. We came back to a beautiful roof and everything was clean and in order. Replaced roof on older, single wall 1000 sq foot Hilo house. Yamas was cheaper than the one other quote we got (by a fair amount, or we'd have gone with the company that installed our solar hot water awhile back). Brian answered our questions and gave us quotes for various options. Took awhile for our turn to come up, but when it did, things went quickly and smoothly, including pulling off and replacing solar hot water panels. At Brian's recommendation, we had new, larger gutters installed at the same time. Also had Yamas relocate the existing hot water tank from inside laundry room to outside the house, and that went fine. Happy with the results, and son, who lives there, says the house is cooler--guessing it's the color change: old roof was red; new is almond.

Great teams to work on my roof in a day! My roof is still looking fabulous for our lifetime! Thank goodness for replacement of 40 years old corrugated metal roof to brand new corrugated metal roof. It will last another 40 years or so! Mahalo plenty, Yama's Roofing Company!!!

We did our research before selecting a company for our roofing needs. A few important things we were looking for - licensed & reputable, locally owned, community minded and Hawaii Island roots. Cost was depended upon those things because if the company and owner met our basic requirements - we knew during this time of inflation - we would have to pay whatever quote we received. But we were confident enough when we made our decision that Yama's Roofing could be trusted to complete the job of reroofing our home that's over 30 years old. The owner - Brian Petersen was easy to communicate with via email. He was attentive to answer our questions. Made our appt to pay deposit and now we wait for our turn for our home to be reroofed. It'll give us time to put together the remaining funds, clear rubbish and clutter of living in this home for 30 years and begin to visualize the renovations to follow the new roof installation! Five years ago, we moved back home from working on Oahu. Got a roof quote at that time from a different company that was working in our neighborhood. Price was above what Brian quoted us this year! Glad we didn’t go with that company back in 2017. Brian and his crew are hardworking people and showed up on time, rain or shine. We had a hiccup, but Brian kept us in the loop and we had a new roof completed on my birthday. What a wonderful gift! Thank you to Brian and his crew for a job well done.

I collected three quotes to reroof and replace gutters for our home. One company came and never got back to me with an estimate and Yama's Roofing was a few thousand dollars less than the other company. Brian (from Yama's Roofing) explained the different types of roofing, cost, and provided pertinent information before we made our decision. I changed my mind several times, asking for new quotes and each time, he patiently accommodated me. Brian responded to my concerns immediately, even on weekends and evenings. I had complications with my PV panels being removed/re-installed and although it wasn't his kuleana, Brian was willing to come by to ensure things were being done properly. He came by several times to ensure our roofing project was on schedule and kept us informed on progress. His crew worked hard, was polite and cleaned up after finishing each day. After the new roof and gutters were complete, I have had so many neighbors and friends compliment how our home looks brand new and how the new roof made such a big difference. This is the second time I have hired Yama's Roofing to replace the entire house roofing and both times I have been a satisfied customer!

Trying to use this business. I have been on their wait list for almost 2 years (March will be 2 years) to come and do a repair on my home. I keep getting the same excuse "We're not doing repairs right now". Then I think if you are not doing repairs, you should not advertise that you do roof repairs. False advertising.

They were able to squeeze me in right away and completed the job within a week. Some fallout from the roof landed on my truck and Brian offered to have it professionally detailed even though it was my fault for leaving the truck in the driveway.

Yamas did a great job installing our new standing seam roof and matching gutters. The crew was friendly, efficient, and professional. After the install was complete the jobsite was left clean and looking great. Brian made sure the job was completed in a timely manner as promised. I couldn't be happier with the results. Energetic, efficient and excellent! These three adjectives accurately describe Yama's Roofing. We were thoroughly impressed with the energy and efficiency the crew exhibited throughout the three-day project (roof and gutter replacement). Upon arrival they set up their ladders and went straight to work. Everyone immediately set out to different parts of the roof to begin the replacement. When necessary, they worked in teams to quickly identify the most efficient way to address each segment of the roof. I have never seen a crew work so closely and diligently as this one. Everyone knew their role and displayed a camaraderie not too often seen in this type of labor-intensive work. It was quite evident by the friendly bantering that this was a close-knit crew; in turn, I feel this translated into an efficient and effective end product. Their energy level was simply amazing; watching them work gave me a deep appreciation for these men, their skills and the enjoyment they exhibited. This was a well-oiled machine! As with any service job of this nature it all boils down the end result. As homeowners my wife and I were more than pleased. The pride each worker displayed could be seen in the excellence and quality of the finished product. For us effective and efficient communication is important when planning and executing a project of this nature. Working with Brian and Kelly always meant we were in the loop about everything -- from start to finish. Yama's exemplifies a company that holds true to its word, even going above and beyond the call of duty. In the end Yama's Roofing was the best choice. We are so happy with Yama's Roofing because they replaced the old roofing which apparently had several problems. Their new roofing, which fixed those problems, has unexpectedly resulted in cooling our house down. It looks pretty too! I would definitely use them again. And their workers were polite and professional.

YAMA'S ROOFING excellent service, from initial contact with Brian (with a ton of questions) about changing the roof and installing new gutters, to the completion of the job....ABOVE AND BEYOND my expectations!!! Very impressed with how well the crew work together to get the job done. Beyond professional, "seamless" (pun intended). They all know exactly what to do and how to do it, all business. Even my neighbors were impressed, they came over to ask how long the guys were working together because from beginning to end everything was so smooth.

When I got ready to replace our existing roof I asked five different companies for quotes. Yama's Roofing was the first to respond. After a couple of weeks I had the quotes I needed. I also had the time to ask a few people about their experiences with the roofing company they used recently. Yama's Roofing was not the least nor the highest quote. I choose them based on what people were telling me about their service. I contacted Brian at Yama's and told him I'd like to hire them. He was efficient and professional. Kelly from the office was easy to work with as well. As for the crew of guys that showed up on the day of the install they were MAGNIFICENT. They are the best team of roofers on the island. I thank each of them. Roof was torn off and the new one put on in a matter of hours. Awesome crew. I highly recommend Yama's Roofing.

Aloha 2 all. The crew that did my roof, were the best of guys. We all talk story. 5 star group I would give them. I would hire them again.

I hired Yama's to re-roof our lanai roof that another contractor royally messed up because he tried to cut corners and do things on the cheap, and he likely knows little about roofing, even though he built our lanai structure. A roofer I know who fixed our tiles submitted a bid to this contractor who flat-out rejected it, and instead installed rolled comp with a nail gun of all things. No blackjack. It was a disaster, and I received a bid from several other roofers but they were twice as much as Yama's and did not involve as good of a product.

Nobody can see this roof except by drone. Yama's installed gutterguard flashing so the water flows from the back directly to the front gutters, which they also installed, and both downspouts drain perfectly, which is more than I can say about the gutter along the back of our lanai.

This entire process started by tearing down the existing lanai roof structure because the previous owners had tipped it back into the house, which flooded the eaves. The only way to fix it was to tear it down and rebuild without attaching it to the expensive Japanese roof tiles. But after the contractor finished, the problems just piled up. It leaked. It buckled. It was a horrendous experience I don't wish on anybody, and my recourse was either to sue the moron or make him reimburse me for that portion of the job. We settled. But I will never recommend that guy to anyone.

On the plus side, Yama's roofing did an excellent job. They were pushed out a few weeks, especially with all of the rain, but they did their best to get my job on their books in a reasonable time frame. They kept me informed of everything, sent photographs, asked questions, were very communicative, and I will recommend them to everyone I know. Finally, the lanai is dry and secure. Brian & the guys did an awesome job working on our house and garage roof. They also came and did our custom gutters to match our roof color. Yama’s roofing did a great job on my roof. From start to finish it was a very good experience. The price was very reasonable, they came when they said they would, and they did a very professional installation. Most importantly it has rained everyday since I got my new roof and there hasn’t been a single leak. I highly recommend Yama’s roofing.

The owner of Yama's roofing, Brian, is a local and humble person to work with. He listened to what I wanted (a cooler house). The whirley vent and the foil insulation they installed when changing my whole roof really made the heat in the interior of the house much, much cooler. I also caulked some holes in the ceiling when I saw light peeping through these holes as they removed the roof. These guys did a great job and I would highly, highly recommend them. Even after installing my roof, Brian did things outside of our contract, like change the bathroom venting. Local braddah who will be honest and the bid was very competitive with other roofers. Actually one of the better prices out there. Their work is superb!

Had no issues dealing with Yamas Roofing. The contract was easy to understand and fairly standard. Getting my 30 year old metal roof replaced was a priority and Yamas was able to do it much sooner than I anticipated. They metal roofing was supplied by HPM Custom Metal Roofing which is a good product and they were able to complete the installation in one and one half days! The work looks professionally done and the crew cleaned the job site before leaving. Workers and management were courteous and professional.

We had a great experience with Yamas - they installed a new metal roof on our home and they were very professional. After a week with 15" of rain, the roof was fine, but we realized that another downspout was needed on a long gutter stretch. I talked to Brian and they added the downspout within 24 hours at no cost.

Yama’s Roofing went Above & Beyond my expectations. I was referred to them by my neighbor, as they are #1 on the Big Island. My Dad owns a plantation home by Hilo & Brian/Kelly did business w/me from the mainland. They saved my Dad’s house & restored it back to its original state. My Dad is the happiest man Alive now! I would give them 10 stars Plus, if I could. Promptness, professionalism, friendliness, quality at an affordable rate & Looks fantastic! I’m So Happy—you cant go wrong;)

Hired these individuals to fix a leak. After "working" on the roof, not only was the leak still present, but it had grown to two leaks in a similar area. When informed of this development, We were told by this gibbering imbecile that "[he] couldn't be comming out here every time the roof leaks"...perhaps this feeble minded ass should reconsider his chosen profession. Though at a current satisfaction rating of 2.7 stars apparently we should have researched this incompetent business.

They send this two young kids unprofessional, to put a new roof, when there were doing the work, it did not seem right. I told my husband and he said do not to worry....
After they were done, sure enough, we got several leeks... I call them and they toll me they will call me back... It took few months for them to fix the problem. I have this horrible big stain in my wooding roof.
I hope they are more responsible.
