Chris and his team at Windy City were very easy to work with. We replaced our siding with LP, repaired 5 dormers along with rotten trim. Additionally the cupola on our roof had to be rebuilt. The workmanship was excellent and Chris did everything he could to make sure we were 100% satisfied. Best of all, Chris was an EXCELLENT communicator which made the whole experience that much better!

As someone who has worked with contractors for most of my adult life (in another field), I feel like I've seen it all. We had a very complex siding issue to solve as we had woodpeckers attacking the front crown of our house and it was in a very high (albeit tough spot to work on). After consulting with a few companies I chose WCR. Steve was a joy to work with on every part of the sales cycle from start to finish. He did what he said he would do. In a tough economy with prices going nowhere but up. A few ethical companies are still representing and flourishing. I called Ony after getting several quotes to replace my roof. Both estimates were within a couple thousand dollars. Only from Windy City came out at my request for an estimate. I never received that estimate. Why????? Because he told me my roof was fine and had 5 to 7 years left.
I was shocked!!!! He said save your money and call me in 5 years to inspect. Look, you’re at these companies mercy. To find an ethical contractor in this economic climate is so refreshing! Thank you so much for your integrity and honesty!

This company was a pleasure to do business with for our recent new roof. My husband personally knew the owner, Ony, and upon getting an estimate immediately chose his company. Ony is honest, personable and straightforward . He and his company went above and beyond advising us on how to fix interior celing damage to pass an inspection and assisted us with that process. In addition, Ony was involved in the roofing job from start to finish. We really appreciated everything!

We were able to get 4 quotes for the roof replacement project. One was recommended by a friend, but they had very tight schedule, booked up for weeks. So we had another 3 options: one was a little more pricing, one was a little lower. We picked the medium one: Windy City Roofing and siding out of those 3.
Chris is a super nice young gentleman, very easy to work with , very patient and very responsive to any question or concern we have(even after we have made the full payment). All staff(inspector and roofers) are very friendly, always trying their best respecting the property, cleaned up debris very well afterwards. did a very decent job!

An amazing company do do business with from start to finish. A very fair and competitive estimate was professionally provided by Steve, the project manager. Showed me the shingle choices and explained the difference between shingle products offered. I needed a complete roof replacement with 2 old layers of shingles removed and noticeable plywood warping required replacement of a lot of new plywood. The crew did it all including 42 sheets of plywood (nearly 3/4 of the roof). Invited me up to look at the condition of the plywood before they replaced it. Was so bad that it was fortunate no one fell thru into the attic. This was a 2 day job that this amazing crew finished in one. They protected all of my many bushes, shrubs, and plants with light tarps which they cleaned off every hour or so to prevent any crushing of the plants. They did EVERYTHING that was in the estimate including all new roof vents, bath and kitchen exhaust vents, chimney flashing, lead boot covers on the stacks and even made sure they protected all of my fairly new gutter covers. The clean-up after the job completion was impressive. Actually had crew members picking thru my many bushes to hand pick out any stray shingle material or wood that fell thru the tarps. Then they "mowed" my grass and plant beds with a giant magnet on wheels to pick up any errant nails to protect my dog (and me). Steve came over for a final inspection, explained the bonus 40 year transferrable warranty process and made sure that the village permit process was properly done. My new roof looks beautiful and I have peace of mind. This company really knows what they are doing. I highly recommend Windy City if you need a new roof.

We have used Windy City 2 times over the years.Both times Stephen Riedl has been in charge of the work completed. He responded quickly to our call and came over within a couple days to do the estimate which we received quickly. He added in all the info we needed to make a good decision as to what we wished to have redone. The crew that came to the house to replace the roof was hardworking and very pleasant to deal with. They worked quickly and cleaned up every bit of the mess that had been made in order to take off the original roof and take out the skylight that was not working.It looks great and we recommend them highly!!!!

My search for a roofing contractor started with asking the next door neighbor for a recommendation. Apparently they went with Windy City Roofing 11 years ago and never had issues with the work they got done. Though I shopped around a little bit for quotes, no other contractor matched Windy City in terms of number of references they provided. I polled few of them and they all were positive about them. This made my choice easy. I am satisfied with the work they have done on my roof. Looking forward for no-issues with the roof in the coming years.

We've worked with Windy City Roofing on two project: first residing our whole house (2018), and then this recent project, our garage. WCR is always very professional in planning and executing a project. Their communication up front is clear and their solutions are thorough. Documentation is comprehensive and clear -- all planning docs, contracts and consumer rights materials are delivered in timely fashion and explained carefully. And the work itself is performed on time, neatly, and follows the planning to the letter. But they're also very helpful in accommodating on-the-fly tweaks. Looking at my pictures (old siding was brown aluminum; new siding is tuscan olive vinyl) you can see we had to adjust the location of the gutters, and I asked if they could install a new light. There was a rotting header over the garage door they repaired (structurally very well done!). And when they re-shingled the roof, they gave me a clear price on cost to repair any rotted sheathing, so the added cost there was both reasonable and not a surprise -- I could see exactly what I was getting and why. I also like the fact that the two projects we did with WCR were about 4 years apart, but everything went just as smoothly -- reliably consistent. We're a year in with the garage siding (and 5 years in on the house siding) and have not had the slightest indication of any leaks or gaps, and haven't had to ask them to return and review or check anything. We can't recommend Windy City enough!

We had an outstanding experience with Windy City Roofing. Steve and his team were referred to us by a friend/colleague of mine who had some work done on her roof. My friend explained that she was having leaks and thought she needed a new roof. But when Steve inspected her roof, he explained that she could easily get more years out of her current roof and would only need to patch a few areas. I was already impressed with this feedback from my friend/colleague because it showed that Steve and Windy city Roofing are honest and looking out for the best option for their customer. So Steve looked at our roof and determined it did need to be fully replaced. Our roof was well past its useful life and there were no parts capable of saving or patching. He also explained our gutters were too small for our roof, which is why we always had waterfalls outside our windows. So we agreed to replace our roof and gutters. When I met with Steve to sign the contract, I showed him a leak in one of our bedrooms that was getting worse with each rainfall. He then said he would try to do the roof that week (if our permit was approved on time) to avoid furthe damage to the ceiling. Unfortunately, the week went by and our permit application was still pending. The following week one morning, the weather forecast warned about a big storm coming and I was worried about our leak. Later that same morning I got a text from Steve explaining that he was driving to our place to patch the area of our roof where the leak was so that our ceiling wouldn't incurr further damage from the incoming storm while we waited for our permit to be approved. I was so incredibly grateful to Steve and his team for going the extra mile to protect our ceiling and patch our roof in advance of the storm! Moreover, I had not even spoken to Steve about my concerns about the storm. He simply had remembered our conversation and realized I'd by stressing about the storm that was just announced. After getting that text from Steve I was so relieved! I found this to be truly exceptional customer service and pure genuine kindness! A week or so later, our permit was approved, the roof was installed in one day (!) and the gutters were done a day later, also completed in one day. Everything looks outstanding and we are thrilled with our roof. Moreover, as a side not: my father is a professional contractor and I showed him our quote and he said all the products Windy city choose for our roof are top quality brands and are very reliable. I cannot rave enough about Steve and Windy City Roofing! They are excellent at what they do and trust that you are in good hands with Steve!! I would recommend them to anyone needing any sort of work done.

My husband and I were so happy with the care and services to re-roof our house and put on new siding from Windy City and Steve specifically. They did a great job overall, did what they said they would, responded to any questions we had, adjusted when needed and just went above and beyond. Windy City was among the best contractors I’ve ever dealt with. No nonsense or hard sell and extremely friendly. Job was done as promised, gave me updates throughout and left my home as if they never left.

Steve and his team are great. Initially a year ago I had a minor leak in my daughters bedroom. Other roofers tried to charge me 2X. Steve tried to fix it in a minimally invasive way. It held for a year, but my roof was old and I knew it. A year later I needed a new roof and he quoted me a price. Steve is an honest guy and his prices are fair. He is very accessible and good communicator. There was a minor issue after the roof was installed and he fixed it right away. Highly recommend.

I had a crawl space water issue that was most likely related to the roof. I requested a quote from several companies and Windy City was the first available. The guy who came out checked the area without going on the roof. I ended up going with him because I figured he knew what he was doing and received a good quote on gutter guards and downspout replacement. Also the reviews on here seemed great.

Couple guys came about a week later and installed gutter guards and replaced 2 downspouts. They did not haul away the old downspouts and just left it on my lawn.

Same guy who did the inspection came by himself few days later when I was at work. I saw on camera all he did was nail down the shingles and put some glue or caulk down. I could have nailed and glued myself.

I had 2 companies come out two days later for another quote to see if the roof was okay. They both said I have a roof leak and all the guy did was put a temporary “bandage.” The nearby roof flashing was also loose which was not caught since Windy City guy never went on the roof while these other guys did. I went with a new company spending extra $1k and they replaced the shingles, inspect/replaced wood deck, installed new ie/water shields, and fixed the flashing. Also replaced another downspout and they hauled away the old one.

I would not trust this company at all. What kind of roofer does not go on the roof for inspection.

Used Windy City at both houses. Chris answers calls promptly and Ony answers all questions when he comes out and does great work. The company will not upsell you .

They did excellent work! Cleaned up any mess they made, installed in the time frame that was promised and just worked… no killing time, ate and refreshed themselves in appropriate amount of time. Answered any questions we had cordially and delivered what was sold.

My wife and I so appreciated the customer care and services provided by Windy City. We had them both reroof and reside our home. They came to our home to discuss the projects and present options for us to choose from. They came on the days they said they would and completed the tear offs and installations in one day. They did a great job of cleaning up and came to our home the following days to make sure we were satisfied with the work and to finish any small adjustments that still needed to be made. We have a large house, and they did a complete tear-off and re shingling in 13 hours (same day). They brought their own dumpster and did a thorough cleanup. This was by far and away the best contractor I've used for a major project, ever. It all started with the very knowledgeable and helpful Project Manager, Steve Riedl. Steve came out to my house, promptly, to help me assess my situation. He gave me some great insight along with a very fair quote. Once we pulled the trigger on the project, Steve had his team out here within days to knock out the job. The guys showed up early and worked hard all day. Steve was on-sight the day the crew came out to ensure they fully understood any nuance involved with the project. The guys were careful with the landscape and cleaned up the site so well after they were done, you'd never know they were here - aside from the beautiful new roof and downspouts! Truly can't sing praises on behalf of this company loud enough. - If you're in the (overwhelming) market for one of these projects, do yourself a favor and give these guys a call!

We hired Ony Pena last month to repair to part of our soffit and fasci that had water damage. His team also fixed the part of the roof that caused the issue. They did a great job at a fair price. And, they did it quickly. When other places said they couldn’t work on this job for months, Ony got it done within a couple weeks. We were very satisfied.

Windy City did siding repair and gutter and downspout replacement for me. The work and service was prompt, excellent and fairly priced. Windy City was great. We needed a repair to our soffit which was fairly urgent to keep birds, animals and mold out. When all other contractors were three weeks out just for an estimate, Windy City was out within a couple of days, assessed our damage and estimated that they could do it about 3 weeks out. They had it done within a week and their crew got it done in a matter of hours at a very reasonable price. We were amazed and would recommend them highly!

Windy City did a great job replacing windows, siding, and gutters on my house. I worked with Chris who was excellent with customer service and coordinating the entire project. They were priced fair. First, Windy City Roofing and Siding is by far the best vendor we've used in over 21 years living at our house in Berwyn. This is a review that is long overdue.

Steve provided siding estimates that easily beat siding alternatives of a lesser quality.

Steve and his various crews installed new LP Diamond Kote siding & trim, roofing, 4 windows, fascia & soffit, and gutters on our house. The work they completed was excellent. We had them come back to replace the garage shingles and siding to match the house. Also excellently done. Finally, after we had the front steps replaced last year (2020), we had Windy City come back out for a small job to update the siding to match the new step configuration.

In all of this work (completed between October 2018 and November 2020), there were only 2 issues and in both cases, Windy City came back quickly to touch up the issues. It is now May 2021, and we're prouder of our home after the work completed by Windy City.

I would certainly recommend them to anyone.

Ony Pena came out to my home last year following the August storms that caused damage through out the area and gave me an honest inspection of the damages on my home. We decided not to proceed at the time due to our scheduling. Ony followed up with us early in the season to see if we would like to proceed with the work and was able to get us on the schedule once the weather permitted. They were able to remove and replace our garage and home roofs in less than a day. Very happy with the results and the work. Our yard was left practically spotless and Ony made sure to give our yard a second sweep to pick up any small debris or nails that may have escaped the workers during their cleanup, which was truly appreciated with two active pups who like to get into everything. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for an honest and fair priced roofing company.

Ony and the crew from Windy City are simply great! They came through in a pinch, got out to my house within hours of my call, and came through like superheroes with a 40ft ladder. They resolved all the concerns quickly and professionally - I had a loose shingle that got in the gutter and caused an inspection concern that Ony quickly put to rest. He inspected the roof, sealed around the chimney and fixed a piece of damaged siding, and documented everything in a concise report. All this without wasting time, and at a very reasonable price! Really appreciate Ony, Chris and everyone at Windy City for making what could’ve been a nightmare scenario into a pleasant experience, with really good people. Thanks again!!

A piece of trim blew off my roof that I managed to retrieve. The same day as I filled out the inspection request, Ony arrived on sight, repaired the piece, reattached it, *AND* reinforced the adjacent pieces, all for a reasonable price! We had a new attic exhaust fan, attic exhaust boxes, new soffits, and new bathroom exhaust pipes that went through the roof instead of through the soffits installed.

All of the work was done professionally and I am pleased with the final result. I contracted with Steve who provided a fair quote, was very responsive to texts/phone calls throughout the job, and was able to schedule all the work to be completed in an efficient manner. I’m very particular when getting work done on my house. I went with this company due to the high volume of positive customer feedback and I was not disappointed with my decision. From day 1, when we called Chris of WC, the project was streamlined. Chris, exercising extreme patience and cooperation, procured siding samples and forwarded multiple addresses of homes with colors and styles we were considering. Once the work began, the crew worked diligently and beyond expectations, through rain and even light snow. All the men were friendly, professional and thorough. Ony came to my home to give me an estimate on a roof which I thought was in disrepair. Much to my surprise he told me the roof is looking good and it probably has life for another five years before it needs replacement. What I find so impressive considering today’s environment is this man is incredibly honest and told me that he does not want to do a roof that does not require it. He also did some minor repair while he wad up there and would not let me reimburse him. I got his referral from somebody else that had used him and this is exactly what I was told. This is truly a very honest man who is running a very honest quality company.

I need to add that years later, Windy City Roofing & Siding Contractors had just installed a new roof on my house which is now September 2023. We could not be any happier for the service that they had performed. The company was completely honest and professional. I must add that we did have one problem, and it was immediately addressed and fixed with no questions asked. I would highly recommend Windy City for any roofing needs.
