We might have had a little ruff start (misunderstanding on my part with measurements). But they did everything to make me happy. They did an amazing job, my deck looks so good and I'm enjoying it, A great thanks to David, Robert and of course all the workers. I will add photos shortly.

David Jessop was incredible in assisting us with our deck and pergola project with Western Timber Frame! He went above and beyond to ensure that he was available to address any of our concerns, and he always did so with a cheerful and supportive demeanor which made him feel like a trusted friend. He is a knowledgeable person with the core value of integrity which made us feel incredibly secure in working with him on such important projects. We would not hesitate to recommend David in any scenario!

Scott did such a great job designing a deck and entry to replace our old one. He came up with a very creative solution. The deck is so beautiful and we enjoy it so much. It has transformed the look of our entire house. They did a great job with the installation, too.

Nothing but the most professional and nice people I have ever worked with. They built the most awesome deck exactly as promised and within the estimated completion date. I highly recommend them!

My experience with Western Timber Frame was extremely good. Very professional and tried hard to meet all their commitments. They came out at the end to make sure everything looked just perfect. He even went around and did some very small touchup with the stain just to make sure I was happy. I would highly recommend these people.

I ran into Darren from Western Timber Frame at the home show. I had been looking to have something done in my back yard and he showed me some amazing options, went over the pro's and con's of each including pricing. It was clear if you want quality and durability this the was the place to go. I settled on a redwood pavilion however I had no place to put it. my entire yard was grass and the concrete around the house was deteriorating. He introduced me to a concrete company that did great work for a decent price. I ended up putting a few pads in and repairing all the concrete around my house. The extra work cost me more than I had budgeted but the result was a beautiful yard that I am looking forward to enjoying with family and friends.

You can see in the picture that the only thing I have left is to finish the electrical and put in a new yard.

Thank you Darren and Western Timber. When I am done I will now have one of the nicest back yards in my neighborhood.

Our experience with Western Timber Frame was excellent! It started with our sales representative Scott six months ago, who gave us a free pergola estimate and gave us space to think about it. We turned him down at the time, since we had drainage and other landscaping issues to solve before we could install a pergola. He graciously accepted our decision, which made us want to get in touch again when we were ready to install the pergola.

Our project manager, David was easy to work with. He coordinated with our other landscapers to install footings in the middle of them redoing the paver patio. He also coordinated with them to find a way to install the posts, such that the wood would stay dry on top of the patio, but also we wouldn't be damaging the paver stones by putting screws in them. He also recommended an electrician who was able to wire our pergola to a nearby outdoor outlet.

The installation crew was fast and detailed. They installed the pergola and touched up the paint in four hours! They were happy to have me point out spots to touch up.

From when we signed paperwork to full installation and final walkthrough, it only took 4-6 weeks. We love the warranty as well. All-in-all, we had an excellent experience with Western Timber Frame. We are happy with our investment and would highly recommend them.

Western Timber Frame is awesome! Beautiful job on my deck and pergola install. Very detailed oriented, responsive and worked with me on the unanticipated re-deck foundation due to rotting joists from 2007 deck. Also hooked me up with a solid electrician. We installed a pergola about 10 years ago. I noticed recently that one of the main boards for a privacy lattice had a big split in it. They offered to come out and check to see what could be done. They decided to replace that board and repair some of the broken lattice slats because there's a lifetime warranty. David and his team were awesome to deal with. They worked well with us to get the pergola back to their standard. David was so nice and so was his team.

Great quality products and we had the opportunity of meeting the owner. It's obvious there is a culture focused on delivering a great product.

We now have not one but two Western Timberframe structures that we LOVE! The first one was built in 2022 and we just held a wedding reception using the 20 x 20 pergola as the reception area for the bride and groom and staging for the first dance. Just this winter, 2024, we added a pergola to our back patio. It complements our large pergola beautifully! From the salesman who first knocked on our door to the creators who helped us realize our dreams, to the construction team, to the team who reached out to do the scheduling, everyone has been great! Dave has been particularly helpful in replacing some faulty pieces(some Trex pieces on the skirting) on our original pergola. A-MAZING! THANKS, DAVE, YOU'RE THE BEST! Our pergolas are beautiful!

We had Western Timber Frames create a pergola for our outdoor kitchen and they did a fabulous job! They showed up on time, cleaned up after themselves, were respectful of our existing plants and trees, and the color matched perfectly to our deck. We had one of our corbels split and they came right out to take care of it. Not only did they replace the one with the split but they replaced ALL four of them to make sure we didn’t have any future problems. We would recommend them to anyone and plan to have them return for another project we have in mind for our yard. Love it!

Kept in touch with us and the progress on our cabana. There were no surprises in the costs Helped us with a couple of needed subs and the final work was great .

Darren was amazing! The timber frame we had installed looks incredible! The quality and construction look like it will last for hundreds of years… Darren does a great job coordinating, scheduling and follow up through the entire process. I would absolutely recommend him and Western Timber Frame to anyone in the market!

I was talking with Cory from Western Timber about our pergola that they installed about 5 years ago. It was the best decision we made to have it installed. We could not use our patio much before due to the intensity of the sun, but we now use it all the time. My husband has health problems and enjoys sitting outside reading and enjoying the fresh air, and we enjoy using it with family and friends.

We had a beautiful pavilion built. Darren was so patient with us while we were making decisions. He is so knowledgeable about the product. We could not be happier. Western Timber Frame was very easy to work with and provided an amazing product.
We still have to finish our project with a giant deck and landscaping next spring.

I was disappointed when a representative from Western Timber Frame knocked on my door this evening despite a clearly posted ‘No Soliciting’ sign. I value companies that respect boundaries and follow posted requests, so it’s frustrating when this basic courtesy is ignored. I hope they will take this feedback to heart and be more mindful in the future.

Dalton and Candy both ignored my no soliciting sign and rang my doorbell late afternoon on Aug 18. I am kind as I explain to them that my No Solicting sign (right next to the doorbell) means that they should not knock or ring my doorbell and that it is trespassing.

Do you know how they responded? They said that "our managers confirmed that we have no legal obligation and that we can ignore No Soliciting signs in Davis County." This marketing strategy is disingenuous for a company who is trying to earn your trust and sell you a product that costs thousands of dollars.

I will never make a purchase from a sales pitch at the door--that's not how I shop and compare--but I wish they received a one-star review from every homeowner who's wishes they disregard. I think it wouldn't take long before companies stop this bad practice.

By the way, Western Timber Frame, this lack of ethics has removed you from my short list for bidding on a new pavilion in my backyard. You won't ever get our business.

I should mention that Dalton and Candy were perfectly pleasant and they were only doing what they've been instructed to do. Shame on Western Timber Frame executives for teaching bad ethics to their employees.

This is the second structure that Western Timber has built for us and once again they went above and beyond our expectations. From the initial measurement to the final screw the entire team was courtesy and professional. The installation team showed up early and completed the installation in a timely manner. Western Timber helped turn our backyard into our very own oasis!

The team was great in addressing my concerns without question. Even late in the game they came and made some repairs and did it in a reasonable time despite some pretty severe weather. Shout out to Tom for sticking with me for the long haul and Chris for coming on short notice to finish things up! I highly recommend these guys and they completely back up their product!

Steve had a great design for us. The execution was excellent and we were very happy with the end product. I would strongly recommend him and the company!

We just had a structure added to our patio by Western Timber Frame. Actually, it's 3 structures that fit together beautifully. I am so happy with the final outcome. Everyone we worked with was great. Everything was finished ahead of schedule and it looks beautiful. They have so many options for your outdoor areas, I highly recommend them if you are considering any outdoor structures. They will have something that fits your needs.

I do my own carpentry, so I know quality. Western Timber Frame has amazing quality, they do work that I would be proud of. Jeffrey Lee, our rep was nothing more than spectacular, he was patient and gave us the most amazing deal possible, he's a great guy all around and has been the point man throughout. The whole company is great from start to finish. I highly recommend them for their pergolas.

I have the most beautiful pergola in the development. If you are looking for quality, professionalism, and the biggest bang for your buck, I highly recommend Wester Timber Frame. Everything was started and completed on schedule. No delays whatsoever. The installers were on time, and very professional. After the install, they cleaned everything up and left my yard looking neat and clean. If you are lucky enough to get Jeffrey Lee as your salesperson, that will be a bonus. He was easy to work with. We gave him our budget, he met it, and even threw in a couple of extras.

I recently had Western Timber Frame come out to my house for a design consultation, and although I did not make an order now, I met the most impressive and knowledgable salesman named Jeffrey Lee. Jeffrey had tremendous knowledge about the company, the value proposition of the materials, and the confidence he has overall in the finished product success the company is known for. The projects he showed us, and the workmanship spoke volumes for the value at the higher end of other lesser known companies competing for the same type of business that Western Timber Frame and Jeffrey offer their clients. I would recommend with 5 stars both the company and the caliber and knowledge of Jeffrey Lee to any others interested.

Western Timber Frame deserves 5 stars for being all around awesome. They do amazing work and the quality is top notch, there is no one else in the industry that even comes close. I might have used them but I won't now. We have a no soliciting sign on our door for a reason and a salesman named Kaden decided to knock on our door anyways, we work from home and he interrupted a very important phone call. Normally we don't answer when working but when the dogs go crazy and we have to excuse ourselves from a work call to calm them down because of a salesman we answer and educate them on proper decorum.

We decided to go with Western Timberframe based upon other reviews and just the sheer number of impressive builds i have seen accross the wasatch front. The deck they built for us is amazing, right off our second story master bedroom. Gives us some of thee best views in Herriman. Great work and attention to detail. Project manager and the onsite foreman were excellent. and Cylde did a great job for us. Once we get the sliding door installed in our master beed room it will be amazing.

We went to home and garden show in Sandy Ut. Fell in love in love with their design. Steve called that afternoon and scheduled a sit down to show us their product and give us an estimate. What I love about this company is they were able to show us what the cabana would look like in a 3D rendering. They were prompt and friendly. They kept in communication with us the whole process and I never had to chase them down unlike other companies. We are love our cabana!

Design process was smooth and the computer rendering allowed us to see our options and what the final product would look like on our home prior to completion. The entire team was friendly and prompt to return calls or messages, and kept us informed on timeline throughout. Would recommend to anyone considering a project.

We decided to get a free quote for a pergola. We thought the salesman, Darren Dunn, was really friendly when he came over. He provided some great insight. But as he followed up with us, and we told him that it was a little more expensive than we originally thought. He told us to enjoy our cheap Costco pergola. This completely ruined any future opportunity to do business with this company.

Door to door salesman ignored non-soliciting signage and claimed to not be a solicitor because he was offering a “free service”. He also claimed to be with our HOA which was an abject lie, and only corrected himself when called on it.

He was asked to leave the property once and ignored it.

They were efficient, competent and easy to work with. And they constructed the exact porch landing and stairs that I had envisioned. It was a pleasure doing business with them!

I cannot think of a time when I have enjoyed working with a company more than this one. Every individual contact I had with them was pleasant, professional, and impressive. I was overwhelmed with how hard the men who came to put in the footings worked. I watched them doing really hard physical labor without a break for an entire working day. They extracted huge rocks and many smaller ones and left the area clean and ready for my new deck. The workmen who came to put on the deck and pergola were equally impressive. The foreman answered every question and dealt with every concern. The finished project is incredible. As I look at it every morning when I come down my stairs I am filled with a realization that I am looking at a beautiful addition to our home that I have always seen there in my imagination. It is gorgeous. I am beyond satisfied with the professional and very honest interactions I have had with these people who made my dreams come true.

We spoke with Scott about having 2 structures built at our home and were very excited to start our project. They sent a sales representative up and we couldn't be more disappointed. They spent half the time talking about a structure that they couldn't even do. Then they worked up a quote on a structure they think would work and demand a 70% deposit to see a rough sketch to see how it would look with our home. This is totally ridiculous. We can't put a large deposit on something we can't imagine. When we asked why we got different stories. We have no problem putting 70% down once we have a rendering, but how how can you ask for $29,000 for just a price quote? Very unprofessional! We will definitely be looking at a different company. We are very disappointed as we were excited to get this project started.

Western Timber customized / built us an amazing Pergola for our backyard. They worked with my wife to design it to our specifications. I’m 6’8” tall so we wanted it to be a certain height etc. Everything turned out great! Thanks Aaron & team

We put up one of their pavilions in our backyard in 2020 and we couldn't be happier! We contacted local companies to build us a custom one and when we told them we wanted to hang swings on the beams, they said "No way!" Our Western Timber designer said, "you could hang a car on our beams" and they weren't lying! Best in class! We had an issue with our back wall, because we were the first to purchase one for that size pavilion, but they made it right!

Was building a deck across the street. Came to my property, knocked on “No Soliciting' Door. I answered, where the college aged person wanted to give a free estimate with plans (said we would receive engineering plans for free) for a deck build. Part of their marketing efforts.

Was a bit annoyed since kids were sleeping and sign was on door.Out of kindness agreed to be called and have someone come take a look at the deck I was going to build, and give me pricing. Person called within 10 minutes and scheduled an appointment. Called back within two minutes to change appointment time and got an automated system. Hung up after waiting for the automated system.

Texted the guy going house to house since I couldn't get through. He called the office and said they would reach back same day.

4 days passed and no call. Texted the person who knocked on my door, who said they would definitely call now. No call. Decided to cancel - but couldn't get through. They eventually called to confirm the original appointment. I was unhappy with the customer service, and told her nicely about my experience. Decided to give them another chance. Did not like the automated system trying by to get through (what happens if I need to talk to management about work being done?). Not a good experience.

Moved the appointment to a Saturday morning. No call or reminder (they said they would). Guy shows up late without texting he was on the way. I had waited (I was now missing my sons championship soccer game and was hopeful to catch half of it) and didn't leave - unknowing if they would show up. Not cool.

Guy walked through a bunch of different projects with me (front porch, back deck). Spent a good 45 minutes, then had to go to game to try to catch end of it.

Never got a call back, never got pricing (it’s been over a month).

They then had the nerve to use my name for knocking on my neighbors doors telling them I was having work done - and the neighbor agreed to have work with them. She was sad to hear that and likely knew she was duped.

They used my name without permission, and lied about me being a client. Dirty Marketing means Dirty Company.

Stay away. There are honest and good communicative companies out there. If they come to your home, know they are lying to get your sale.

They have great customer service. I appreciated that they were patient with all of my questions. Joe Thompson was the installer; he and his team did a fantastic job!

They were wonderful throughout the whole process from start to finish! We love the finished product! Paul Lacey was wonderful to work with helping us pick everything out, making sure we were happy and comfortable with our choices, and keeping in contact with us! The workers were courteous and friendly. The whole thing was such a positive experience and we definitely will be calling them again for future projects! Would highly recommend!

Scott , Tom and Brian are great guys who have integrity and follow through . They worked as a team to make sure my dreams came true . The Pavillion that extends my porch and is the most visual structure in the middle of the front of my home ... is a Masterpiece ! They built the most perfect and beautiful patio cover, 30' x 16'. I wanted a pergola type feel with a covered roof, (Canopy). My family will enjoy this for years to come. One of the supporting posts in their product contains built-in electrical and switches. Absolutely perfect!

Mike Jenson was great, we decided to take the plunge with a pergola in fall and after some measuring we had a design going into the new year. Order arrived a month early and was packaged perfectly, it went up in two days. Highly recommend, you get what you pay for; this custom kit (8000 series, 17.5 x 27') is top quality.

Had a door-to-door salesman from this company tell me that the company trained him to ignore No Solicitors signs and tell people that he's not selling anything (just a free consultation where they will try to sell you things).

This tells me all I need to know about the people at Western Timber Frame.

We needed to rebuild our deck after a couple decades of neglect. Logan helped us design a beautiful replacement that gave us the same utility. Our project manager Tom kept us informed and everything moving; any changes or delays were communicated immediately, and he got all the information we needed for permitting so fast. Everyone who came out for demolition, footing prep, and build was efficient, easy to talk to, and kept a clean worksite. All around great experience, we'll be going back to Western for our next big project for sure.

I’ll start at the end of our journey with Western Timber Frame. We are very happy with the end product and Jared did a great job with taking us through the design phase. The design and the quality of their product is wonderful, very solid and looks beautiful. Some hick-up’s in the process and misunderstandings occurred and we almost pulled out. The owners of the company stepped in and delivered a product that not only met our original design but exceeded our expectations, though they did not have to. That earned our trust and business going forward. Should the occasion arise we’ll definitely use them again. When the owners are still involved in day to day operations, intertwined with Jared’s talent, you get a heck of a company. I am not much of a online reviewer, but in this case it is how the company treats their perspective clients and does the “right” thing even if they don’t have to. I am attaching a picture of the product they built. There is nothing like this available from the big box stores. If you are thinking about a backyard project, give them a call! Thanks to everyone at Western Timber Frame we’ve dealt with. We need more businesses like this!

Multiple neighbors and myself have experienced salesman despite the no soliciting signs. And then the salesman proceeds to argue he’s not selling anything? Nope. Will never consider doing business here based off the total disregard for privacy.

These guys were so fun to work with! Jared was so kind and knowledgeable, and helped our pergola dreams come true.

They designed the perfect lean to for our backyard. Team was very professional and cleaned up when done. Great job western timber. Highly recommend.

Jared was super helpful and responsive during the sales and design process, and communicated constantly during the build. The price was great; the team that did the install worked *fast*, and even showed up during some terrible weather. We're so excited to have a spring filled with grilling on our new deck, and couldn't be more pleased with Western Timber Frame.

The entire Western Timber team provided exceptional service through out my entire project. Tom was upfront and honest on all aspects of the project and checked in on the project progress daily. Allison kept me well informed of the timeline and delivery dates and made sure to immediately notify me of any delays. The installation crew was extremely courtesy and professional and left my backyard and deck just like they found it.

Great chef, servers and atmosphere. The music is perfect for a dining experience and conversation. Never had a disappointing dish here no matter what meal. Everyone is super friendly and it's got a great vibe!!

We used Western Timber Frame to construct a 2 story deck on our house. I am impressed with the quality of work and responsiveness of of the workers. Jacuoy was very helpful in planning and coordinating the project and helping with any questions and issues.

Western Timber Frame did an amazing job on my pergola. They were on time, on budget, and provided a superior product.

I initially had a bad experience here, but once I reached out they bent over backwards to make sure that the problems I experienced were resolved. They explained that the employee I had the bad experience with was let go for "low integrity" and that the things he had told me were not true. They then made sure I was given the top-notch service they wanted to be known for. I would have no problem working with this company in the future.

We used them for a deck around our swim spa. We were charged 70% upfront to get our spot in line but then the salesman forgot to mention you only get your spot in line once your designs are done.

This pushed out the actual install another 2 months from what we were originally told.

They finished the deck eventually but had to come out and redo it because it didn't actually follow the original designs... Well now we're at just shy of a year and need to lift a section out (so the spa can be serviced) which it was supposed to be designed for .. however all the screws were put in angled and stripped. So what should have been relatively quick and easy take out of maybe 10 screws and lift out was an evening prying them loose.

Update — they did attempt to make this right as they care about their reviews. They fixed it so it’s a bit better but it’s honestly still a pain and takes longer than it should. Guess I should have done more research before having them make it so I could have a better idea of what I wanted.

Update 2023: they came again in clear defiance of the no soliciting sign. A company without even the simplest amount of courtesy will never have my business.

2021: If a property clearly has a no soliciting sign, companies should respect that. We just had a salesperson ring our doorbell despite the clear No Soliciting sign. I will report for trespassing if it happens again.
