My check engine light came on, then started flashing while on a 20 hour drive. We pulled over in Butte, and sent out the SOS. Mike got to us quickly, diagnosed the problem with expertise, and offered professional advice on the current state of my long-haul. He was fair, courteous (especially about my barking dogs) and extremely knowledgeable. I'm really thankful he was able to tell me what was wrong so quickly.

As a breakdown coordinator for a fleet of 1,300+ trucks, I speak with and do business with dozens of shops every day across the country and I can assure you that Mike with Western States not only went above and beyond what was expected of him, but to his own detriment, saved our company about $3k on a tow bill, and even recommended checking with another shop for parts that he was more than happy to acquire and service for us himself, but wanted to help and save us even more money.

He even told us to give him a call if we were broke down in the surrounding states and he could share his recommendations if we needed any.

Montana can be a harsh place for a truck to break down and to know that there is a business with high integrity 24/7 definitely gives me and my company peace of mind, but also reassures me that there are still good people out there that just want to serve and help others that are in challenging situations.

I had Mike help me out on my trailer. It was very cold out for a simple 1/4 line break just needed a union put on or as he called shark bite. First off I went under with Mike at first he couldn't hear, he said had to much gear on, showed him the problem zip tie had wore plastic cover and rubbed a hole through the 1/4 line. I cut line cut zip tie then 1/4 line asked Mike are going trim the ends he said yes. Mike didn't have his keys for the back of his truck had to run home for them came back he didn't the right shark bite. Then 1/2 hrs later it's fixed charges me 300.00 dollars 200.00 dollars for call out fee plus cold weather fee when he was in his truck for most of that time. Plus he didn't even put the shark bite on correctly still leaked. Mike said takes awhile to stop leaking. I have used shark bites my they are instant, when I had a problem went find Mike he was in the casino, getting coffee probably getting ready to play in the casino because I paid cash. My recommendation never use this company they are a rip off. The problem with the shark bite he didn't trim the ends. The job should of taken 10 minutes not over 2 hrs. I thinking maybe 150 dollars not originally 340.00 told him 300.00 all I had cash that's what he took. He's a rip off artist.

I was on I90 in Montana and I ran out of fuel around midnight and this gentleman came out to fuel my truck in the middle of the mountains. It was freezing cold and he gave exceptional customer service if anyone needs help out on the road this is the guy to call!!

If your in the area i recommend them … they got me back on the road with in couple of hours after getting the parts they work on my while it was still snowing no job is to big or small for them … thanks Mike and everyone at Western State Truck Services

He did amazing job , got radiator leakage in midnight, he helped me alot to bring me at truck stop and fixed my truck on weekend . Must contact him if you got a problem

That’s where you’re wrong buddy, I ended the conversation solely because I was at work, you were completely in the wrong and was coming from a side street not behind. I’m not sorry for anything, and you can bet there was no mistake the only thing I’m sorry about was not being in the vehicle to deal with you myself. I won’t disclose where I work but I have perfect view on security cameras about what happened and the fact you almost T-boned my pregnant girl. You’re just lucky I wasn’t there. The only apology we got was from your boss not from your mouth yourself. I’ll be more than happy to make a report if that is what it takes for you to own up to your actions.

Not sure if it was the owner or an employee, but it was an older man. One of the company trucks almost hit me while they were crossing Harrison from a side street. I had to swerve into on coming traffic to avoid getting T-boned by his truck which is much larger than my small car (as a pregnant woman, that was truly terrifying but not the reason I’m leaving this review). Shaken up, I pulled over to calm myself down. He also pulled over and got out of his truck immediately screaming at me, repeatedly accusing me of trying to commit insurance fraud. He didn’t stop until I threaten to call the police. I felt extremely unsafe in this situation and around that man.

Had a no start issue late at night, called Western States Truck services and they came out quickly and helped get the vehicle running and at a fair price. Will definitely use again.

Came out at 1 AM to fix my truck less then 2 weeks after having major surgery. Great guy would definitely call him next time!

Great mechanic, was flexible and was able to work on my semi while I was sleeping in a hotel.

He did make a small mistake and didn’t plug-in the computer for part of the repair, but he was honest and owned up to it and was sure to call me to make sure that I was OK. Everything was fine. Mike is great guy.

Mike and I are the only 2 mobile mechanic outfits in the area, if you’re having problems get ahold of him or LOM mobile repair and one of us will help you. Prices are as fair as you’re gonna get. Both of us work really hard and take pride in our work to make sure our customers are safe. Mike is a great guy and will give you the shirt off his back. Cheers

The owner was super kind to us to help us out with patching our tire at 12 AM so we could make it back to Bozeman the same night. He did an efficient and excellent job. Would recommend to anyone needing tire help.

Michael is a very reliable guy, despite all the problems beyond his control, he managed to repair the cooling system of my truck. And in the end I continued my trip.

I got stuck at Pilot in Rocker on a Saturday with a broken air leveller valve. Gave a call to western sate and Michael came over and helped me out. He is a great guy

Immediately called Mike when I realized I had an issue with my 4Runner. Discovered that the alternator was bad. Mike quickly ordered a new one and came to install it at my home.

Michael and Dalton were amazing. We blew a radiator on the Butte Pass. Michael picked up on the second ring and was there in 20-30 minutes after-hours. Got us down to a safe haven and fixed as quickly as possible. Part had to be hot shipped from Missoula. If you're down, Michael and his crew will get you running again!

It took them a while (the brake drum was a humdinger to get off), but they got me fixed up and rolling again.

Don’t bother calling since they will ghost you. Had a truck that wouldn’t start in Rocker, called Western States since they were the closest and Mike had me do some troubleshooting. After a couple hours, I decided to ask him to come out again, he told me 3 hours and never heard from him since. Wouldn’t answer my calls or texts, horribly unprofessional of them to leave a truck stranded and costing us a day.

Ended up giving our business to Patriot who were prompt and very helpful.

Looking at the other similar reviews, I’m sure they’ll be replying to this making some sort of excuse but a simple, “We can’t make it to you” is all that was needed.

I blew out a trailer airbag these guys drove 360 miles round trip to get the part on a sunday. While waiting for the part they repaired a damaged trailer skirt. Professenial, knowledgeable, and friendly. The best breakdown experience of my career.

Great people to have work on your truck. I blew my turbo and they had me back on the road in a very reasonable time. The price was very reasonable for the work they performed. They definitely know what they are doing. If I ever break down in this area again they will be the ones that I will call. If you are an owner operator I highly recommend calling them first.

I broke down outside of Deer Lodge and couldn't find anyone to help me. So I called flying j in Rocker and they gave me Mike's number. I called and he was on his way in no time. He fixed my car in no time at all and had me rolling down the road again. Thanks Mike and Bonnie you guys rock.

If your in need of a awesome 24 hour service truck to work on your rig and not have to wait days just to be seen… this is the place to contact. They changed our radiator in 5 hours! Had two guys working on it. They were super friendly and worked diligently. Mike the owner is a great guy. He answered our call immediately and got to us quickly. There very flexible and affordable. Mike and his army of service men came out to me within an hour, drove over 3 hours round trip for parts which was after hours to begin with. Returned at 11:30pm and got me back on the road by 9am. Great guy and very knowledgeable.

Pretty friendly and knowledgeable, arrived fairly withing time after calling due to distance, but had me back running on the road withing a few minutes when others weren't answering due to being a weekend.

This guys take care of business, Freightliner Cascadia radiator been done in one day .

I called about my air dryer leaking and they came really fast and bypassed it and got me on the road. I didn’t miss my delivery in Calgary. These guys were really friendly and helpful.

Mike was called to fix the brake lights on my trailer, but instead of fixing that he messed the fuses inside the truck and the truck stopped working completely. He offered to tow it when it did not need that at all. Thankfully I refused to do that and randomly called Patriot Mobile Repair, Billy, the owner of this service installed two fuses and got my truck started and fixed the brake lights, so no towing was needed. not reason. DO NOT CALL THIS PLACE - WASTE OF TIME and MONEY.

DO NOT USE this services even if you are stuck in winter snow and have no way out. Michael, the owner of this service came to repair my truck but did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. He said “ if you don’t pay I will leave your drive to die out here freezing so you better pay up. “ so I payed him large amounts of money to driver my driver to a hotel. He was very, very rude and disrespectful. Make yourself a favor and find another service.

Mike is the best there is. When I say he's dependable I absolutely mean it. Rain show or hellbhigh waters he will work in it and do a damn good job too! He does road calls, comes all the way up the mountain too for services. He's highly recommended. Also he's freightliner certified! Owns this business and still comes out to work on trucks. Great person and top notch service!

It’s not often you run across a mechanic who actually gives a care about the making sure the job is done correctly for the driver safely .. In 7 years of driving , and dealing with mechanics around the country ! This was the first time I actually met a company who displayed hard work & dedication to getting me back on the road ..3 bad winter storms had passed & the part I needed was 2 hours away , but he wanted to make sure I got rolling ! When I say I know I met a man of GOD , I’m standing firm on my word .. he’s a blessing to line of work . It was a honor to have met Micheal & Chris ! Hardworking men with one mission at hand , making sure the driver is safe & everything is working properly. Did I mention , Micheal is 70 plus years of age & still gets out to make sure work is done proper .. What more can you ask for in a mobile shop .. to be honest I’m

Thanks for your service sir, had the tools I needed to help change the starter but,ayye ended up being a relay on the firewall that'd been bad sending wrong signals to the starter

An anxious Mom in NH here,,,Michael responded to a call from montana highway patrol, my kids were traveling thru western montana and had a blowout on their RV, Michael helped get their spare on and get them on their way, EXTREMELY fair pricing and Super friendly service. On a summer sunday afternoon. SHOUT OUT TO MICHAEL FROM WESTERN STATES TRUCK SERVICES,, for helping bring my pregnant daughter one step closer to home. And not taking advantage of 3 young inexperienced RVers. God go with ....thankyou from the bottom of my heart.

We were climbing the I90 east out of Butte yesterday afternoon when a fitting on the cooling lines failed causing loss of our coolant near the top of the hill. Called Michael and he picked up the needed part and additional coolant and came to the location with Chris where we were stranded on the shoulder near the top of the hill. The total down time (3 hours) was pretty quick given that Michael is not just sitting around waiting for service calls. On road breakdowns can certainly be expensive but Western Truck Service’s invoice was priced fairly. No price gouging here. Great shop and great service - we would not hesitate to recommend or use them again.

Only company to answer at 3 am on Memorial Day weekend on Saturday morning. He came out, was very respectful and kind. He did everything in his power to get me up and running. Very well priced as well. I would HIGHLY recommend calling this company with all of your road side needs.

Asked this guy if he could help us out on Wednesday afternoon, he said he was busy at the moment but could help us in the morning and told us to wait till 9 to call him. That was fine. We called at 9. Then at 9:30. Then again at 10. Then 10:30. He completely ghosted us. So if you're planning on waiting for him I'd start thinking of a new plan!

This place is not a professional place at all. Our truck was broke down and my husband called him first thing in the morning, said he would be right over. He did that all day long when my husband would call him and ask if he was still coming. Kept empty promising that he was on his way. Then told my husband if he wanted to save labor to start taking off some of the parts. Long story short the truck couldn’t be started after my husband took parts off and the guy never showed up that day. My husband called again and he said it was getting too late and he would be there at 5 am to fix it. Nope, husband had to put everything back together in the dark and go somewhere else.

Radiator sprung a leak in Rocker Mt at the Flying J.
Sunday morning after I did my pre trip I started tge engine up and went in to get coffee.
I was walking back to my truck I noticed antifreeze under it and it definitely was not there while doing my pre trip .

I was Hauling a oversize load I didn’t want to attempt to go over the pass with it on .

I emailed Mike Sunday afternoon , he responded quickly .
The next morning he came by took a look at what I was explaining.
He explained he had to finish a job he was on and be back the next day to work on my truck .

He was true to his word arrived the next day they started taking out the old radiator .

The next day someone ran to Missoula to get the radiator while the guys stayed at completed the removal of old radiator. .
Amazing customer service!

All of the guys are professional, busy , and efficient.
Chris was kind enough to showed me a few tips on the pony motor on my RGN to get it to run and run better!

The point is I can go on snd on !
