Welch Roofing

This is the second time I contracted with Welch Roofing. The first time was 30 years ago. Bernie Welch provided me with a concise detailed estimate plus an understanding of what is necessary to construct a solid long lasting weather resistant roof. The job performed was professional and the attention to detail was outstanding. The new roof looked great and from day one on never had a problem. I am retired now and intend to live in my house for as long as possible, hopefully without issue. A new roof was part of this plan. I again asked Welch Roofing to provide an estimate. Dave Welsh (next generation) inspected the roof along with gutters, attic ventilation and chimney. The job included roof, new gutters, and some additional ventilation using a vented drip edge. Dave brought me up to date on code, materials and practices. The roof was constructed by Adam Quenneville Roofing. I am not sure of the business relationship between Welch and Adam Quenneville however, Dave managed all the details and made sure that my concerns were attended to. This by itself was a huge P.O.M.G. i.e., Piece Of Mind Guarantee... Thanks Dave. The Quenneville crew was excellent. They were well organized and professional and kept me informed. Their attention to detail was also outstanding. They took the time to insure items adjacent to my home such as the air conditioning unit, generator and shrubbery were protected. They inspected all underlying construction and replaced underlayment as necessary to insure the new roof was constructed on a solid base. When finished the area was thoroughly cleaned. Needless to say the new roof looks great.

I am so happy I chose Welch Roofing, after getting 3 estimates for my roof. Dave thoroughly explained the materials and the process, and to me what made the difference is that I felt respected as a single female homeowner. He did not “talk down to me” or try to hard sell me on options I did not need. He supervised the work closely, and the workers did an excellent job, including cleaning up the yard afterward. I was concerned about having good ventilation in the attic, and now I have ventilation from several directions, something other companies don’t all offer. I think this roof will last me for a long time and definitely improve the value of my home. Give them a call. You’ll be impressed.

We called for an estimate for a new roof and gutters. Dave did a great job laying out all our options, listening and answering our questions, and clearly explaining what they would install for various price points. No sales pressure. After we decided to go with him, he came back to see if there were any questions and to show us shingle samples and patiently allowed us to decide what we wanted. He kept us informed of all timelines.
On the day of install, Fabiano and his crew efficiently did an excellent job installing a new roof. They did it all in one day and cleaned up so well you can’t tell any work was done except for the beautiful new roof. Fabiano was great with communication throughout the day, letting me know if they found any problems and having me look at their progress through the day. Dave visited (that day and a few days after) to make sure all was a going well, and I always had his cell number to call (but never needed to). We're very glad we went with Welch Roofing.

He had a very professional presentation and he explained what sets him apart from some other roofers. I had a 23-year-old roof on a home that I purchased 14 years ago. At one point this past October I noted water damage in the ceiling of an upstairs bedroom. A trip to the attic revealed leaks at the pipe vents and through several boards at the back of the house. Over the next month I went ahead and got three quotes, all of them very reputable roofing companies in my area of the state and whom friends of mine had employed and recommended. Welch Roofing's quote was very comprehensive and included an evaluation of the chimney, which was in need of substantial repair. Winter and the cold weather was upon us, putting the project on hold. Over the winter I got two more quotes on the chimney, one lower and one higher. In the spring I emailed all three roofers to see if their quotes were the same....all were. I decided to go with Dave Welch, mostly for continuity because his company would be handling both the chimney and the roof. Dave was super personable and always in contact when needed. His subcontractor, Justin and crew, did a great job with the chimney repair. Once the weather was finally cooperating (no rain for 2-3 days and low winds), the materials arrived the day before and the dumpster 1st thing the morning of and Mario and the crew of about 8-10 arrived promptly at 7:00 AM, worked like fiends until 7:00 PM with only a half hour lunch break and completed my roof, a skylight installation, and my garage in one day! Dave checked in and showed up several times throughout the day to make sure all was going well. The clean up was phenomenal...thorough and ongoing throughout the day! The crew was friendly and efficient. It is such a relief to have the roof done. And I am going to have Justin and crew back to fix the ceiling damage in a couple of weeks. After having worked at another roofing company for years, my decision to go with Welch Roofing was based on Dave's straightforward approach. He didn't try to steer me to do more than what was needed (I had general maintenance/repairs), his crew was too notch, price fair, and clean up was satisfactory. When it comes time for more extensive roof work, I Wii definitely call Welch Roofing again.

I’ve got a bit of a long story about my experience with a leaky roof. The short version is Welch is an honest company that does great work. They cleaned up a mess left by an inept roofer for me at a reasonable price. Dave is a knowledgeable and personable guy who takes pride in his teams work. I highly recommend Welch.

Here is my story: When we bought our house (3 years ago) it just had a new roof put on it (a year to two prior). Last year the roof started leaking over our living room. Any decent roofer should stand by work they did a few years ago, but at the time we didn't know who did the work (we didn't own the house when the new roof was put on). We called Welch and they provided a quote for the repair. Dave personally explained everything. What was wrong, what needed to be fixed, how long it would take, why it was leaking -- he even took pictures for us. In the mean time we were able to track down the guys who originally did the work (obviously not Welch) and they said they would fix it free of charge. So naturally that was the route we went. After 6 months of those other 'roofers' coming out and monkeying around on my roof with a caulking gun I still had water coming into my living room. I finally gave up and called Welch again. Not only did they honor their quote from nearly a year ago they got here quickly and did the repair right on the first try (no caulking required). In hindsight I wish we had just went with Welch in the first place. Had I done that I wouldn’t have an additional 6 months worth of water damage to fix in my living room.

We were in desperate need of a new roof. We had been experiencing a small leak for several months, and Dave stepped in to save us. His knowledge and professionalism was very reassuring especially after dealing with a couple of other companies.. He thoroughly explained exactly what they would do, and the materials they would use. His roofers, Ray and his crew, had a tireless work ethic, were extremely trustworthy, and were very considerate of the foundation plantings as well. Ray kept us in the loop at the end of every day to let us know how far along they were, and when they would be back. They happened to be replacing our roof during some very wet weather, so it was difficult to work continuous days. Ray also replaced a skylight that proved not to be the easiest to install. However, with his experience and skill, he was able to get it to fit like a glove. We are very pleased with the results, and would highly recommend Welch Roofing.

Back in september I had a leek im my roof near my chimney. I called Welch Roofing to make an appointment and they called me right back. although they were busy at the time they put me on the schedule for early november. Which was cutting it close because it was going to snow the next week. The seven Man team came out and finished the entire roof in two days. Then the gutter guy came the next day and replace the gutters. Just in time, the next day we had a heavy snowstorm and it stayed cold until about last month.There was still nails and debris Frozen to the lawn up until then witch we agreed that they would come back and clean up the job as soon as the groung thawed. Fast forward to May and everything looks gorgeous not a nail in sight and not a drop of rain very good workers highly recommended. Very high-end work for an extremely competitive price. If you're looking for a roof repair of any kind David is your man!

Welch roofing did an incredible job roofing & siding my addition! It was done quickly, cleanly and better than I had imagined. I would recommend them for any job.
My only regret was not using them in the past, so now my addition looks better than the rest of my house!!!!

I have nothing but high praise for Welch Roofing. My wife and I are in the process of selling our home in Stafford Springs with a closing date of March 30. The buyer had a home inspection done and the inspector advised the buyers that there appeared to be a small leak around one of the vent stacks on the roof and that the two bathroom's vent fans had been vented through the soffitt which is not the desired venting process. We received the request from the buyer to have these items addressed less than 3 weeks from closing. I found Welch Roofing on the internet and was impressed by their website and reviews. I called to make an appointment for an estimate and Dave came out and provided his expert opinion and stated he believed he would be able to have his crew make the necessary repairs prior to closing. Then we got hit with nor'easter after nor'easter with lots of snow. Panicking because these repairs needed to be done prior to closing, Dave and Carl (office) assured me that they would do everything possible to make it happen. Well, they did! Dave's crew was professional, courteous and left the job without any mess. To complete the work they needed to remove some old shingles (10 years old) and they replaced them with new shingles and the color match was perfect. You can't even tell they were changed.

Welch Roofing did a great job at assessing, explaining and fixing our roof leak problem at a reasonable and competitive price. We originally had a new roof redone due to a leak by a different roofer 3 years ago and it started to leak around the chimney 3 years later. The old roofer came by twice and put calking around the chimney flashing which did not solve the problem. Then continued to state that the leak was from a “J channel” siding near the chimney and not a flashing or roof problem and so would charge me again to “fix the J channel and siding” since the problem was not from the roof or his work.
We got a second opinion from a family friend and a professional review\opinion from Dave and his crew, all which said they are certain it was a poor flashing job by the roofer as the cause. We hired Welch Roofing to fix the problem and it turned out that the previous roofer reused old side flashing that leaked in the original roof problem and he did not properly flash around the chimney.
I was there with the Welch Roofing worker to observe this first hand while he took apart and completely redid the entire side step flashing and chimney flashing. Dave and his crew did a proper job within the stated time frame and explained the entire process before hand. The quote and all warentee information was fully explained before hand and clearly written in contract. Multiple down pouring rain storms later and everything is bone dry and no more leak problems. We are very satisfied with all the work and would recommend Welch Roofing. Thank you.

I was selling my home and had to do some repairs to the roof in order to close on time.I called several local "roofing companies" ,left messages only to have them not returned. The only company that responded was a couple of months away before they would be able to start.It was when I called Welch Roofing that I reached a professional roofing company. A company that IS responsive,you call and leave a message, Welch Roofing calls you back. a company that will call you to keep you updated ,seems simple but you would be surprised of the lack of professionalism out there.I couldn't be more happy with the quality of work .Yes you can advertise and pass out a million business cards,,, word of mouth goes far beyond that.So you can entertain the "other" roofing companies but word of mouth is hire Welch Roofing! you will be happy you did.Thanks again Carl and Dave.

Had a great experience. After our discounts for multiple jobs and military, it came out to about the same as another quote we got, but with more work being done. We now have a new roof vented properly and new gutters!
