Gary and Watts & Associates were amazing and I'm an old guy that does not use that word lightly. The damage from hail and wind was widespread but the roofing inspectors that the insurance company only identified part of the damage (which kept the payout under the deductible amount) Gary worked for weeks going back and forth with the insurance company providing pictures and video on multiple occasions and even taking some of the damaged shingles to my local agent to help sway the insurance company. Thanks to his efforts, the insurance company agreed that the damage had occurred and paid. Without him going the extra mile, I would have had to pay over $11,000 more! Great company and I now recommend them to everyone both professionally (commercial) and personally (residential). A+++++

I call this company because I had a roof leak during that big storm that came thru Columbia, SC. The roofer showed up and I directed him to the attic on where the leak was. He immediately identified the problem. The builder did not spray the sealant required on the portion where the vents are. We proceeded outside to identify the exact vent before he went on the roof. Mind you he arrived at 10am. By 10:20am he was done. It took him 5 minutes to setup and take down latter. The job took less than a minute because he just sprayed the sealant around the vent. I was charged $300 for this work. I feel I was overcharged and fleeced. Why does it cost that much for such a minor repair. I would not use this company again and I would not recommend another homeowner to use either. I had a neighbor who had the same identical issue and he had to get a couple of shingles replaced and plus they inspected the other vents for $150. He informed me that my repair should not have cost that much when they only sprayed the sealant. Just ridiculous to me. If I had a choice to give zero stars, I would have clicked on it. Highway robbery, but I digress.

Wow, excellent experience from start to finish! Gary has replaced 3 roofs for me, and performed some repairs as well. He is honest, dependable, and has fair prices!

What a concept it is in this day & age for a contractor to actually show up when scheduled. Watts Roofing did exactly that. They were not only prompt, but worked from sun-up to past sun-down. They knew stormy weather was coming the next day & prepared well for it. The crew had a great work ethic, plus covered landscaping & the deck with tarps thus preventing debris from ending up in the yard. Alex was in constant communication with us & followed through with everything he said. Definitely recommend this roofing company.

He came out and did a walk down and presented me with a quote the same day. He explained all the different options available to me and was honest and up front about the real physical values of each vs the cost(prices were very reasonable!). The team was on time, considerate of mine and my neighbors property and were done in a day! (I am also pretty sure they left my yard cleaner than it was when I left that morning!!)

We purchased a home that was built in the early 2000's and it included replacement of the roof - The seller of the home used Watts and Associates - No clue how many thousands of nails it takes to put a roof on, but we were bound to find a few in the driveway and on the lawn, we did of course, so we followed up. Overall, the roof looked great, but we also had some questions about one portion of the roof, and with two dogs and two daughters (who all like to walk around barefoot), we asked that they come out, take a look, and rerun their magnet to pickup any additional nails that may have been overlooked when the project wrapped up.

We dealt with Alex, he did a great job of listening to our concerns, he came for a visit, he didn't deflect or pass the buck, rather, he stayed attentive to our questions/needs, and he followed through by addressing our concerns and bringing a crew back to check in on the roof and walk around the house to pickup any missed nails the first go-round. Alex and his team get an A+ in my books for a job well done followed by great customer service - A new roof is not cheap, when you spend thousands, you want to know you're getting a great product with exceptional service, it's with these guiding principles in mind, I would highly recommend (without reservation), Watt's and Associates to anyone needing some roof work completed to their home or business - Well done!

Alex Miller and his team at Watts Roofing did an awesome job with a roof installation at our home a couple of weeks ago. Our roof has a lot of corners, valleys, etc that are prone to leaking. The prior roof was not installed properly. Alex and team put an extra layer of leak protection material in the areas prone to leaking, replaced wood, installed roof in 2 days as well as cleaning all the debris up from the yard. We had to have our roof replaced because of hail damage in a short amount of time. Watts & Associates (we worked with Alex, specifically) was very responsive and professional. They completed our roof within four days of us inquiring about a roof replacement from damage. The new roof was exactly what we wanted and looked very attractive. Alex was responsive and intentional about getting the work we needed done in a quick amount of time throughout the entire process. I would absolutely use Watts & Associates again and recommend them to anyone I know who wants high-quality work and in a timely manner.

After calling this company repeatedly and leaving my original review (seen below) they finally came out and made a more permanent fix to the leaking portion of my roof. It has rained heavily and I haven’t had an issue with leaking since they came back out so I am more confident in their work this time. They also went out of their way to fix a hole in the chimney cap which was nice. I still really can’t justify giving them more than 3 stars since it took much longer than it should have and a lot of effort on my part to get them to fix their initial mistake.

This is a company well worth avoiding. I made the mistake of hiring them to replace my roof two years ago, I’ve had four roof leaks since that time. The previous roof I had held up for over 30 years, this company’s roofing job didn’t even last 1 year. They returned my calls right away and were friendly BEFORE I paid them, afterwards they ignored my calls. The previous time my roof was leaking it took them an entire month to come out and “fix” it, three months later it is leaking again. Now on top of still having a leaking roof I have tons of water damage. I’ve had two different handymen look at the roof and both concluded that the roof leaks are due to negligence and shoddy work of the roofers, they both mentioned the roofers didn’t even install flashing. They also left a mess of debris for me to clean up once they were done. I recommend saving yourself the headache and just going with a different company.

He went above and beyond what I expected. Excellent workmanship from the crew. They all took extra steps to make sure the clean up was perfect. I couldn't have asked for a better experience!

Watts & Associates by far exceeded my expectations. From initial consultation, during the job, and completion. Alex and his team were top notch! I am one to be very picky when it comes to home repairs, there was nothing I threw at them or questioned that was out of reason. I like things done right the first time and that was exactly the case with my home. Even though I had a new roof from 2015, clearly after shingle removal it was clear another roofer did not do a quality install. Furthermore, unlike most contractors that show up initially then you never see them again till the job is done. Alex was here each and every day thru the duration checking on his workers and me if I had any questions or concerns. Now that Watts roofing is done, bring on the rain!! And lastly make sure you ask for Denis and his roofing laborers. They were extremely skilled craftsmen. Thanks again Alex and Watts & Associates!

Was really excited about getting our roof completed by this company but was disappointed in the end. First thing is that the actual workers could not communicate with us and were in a hurry all day. We were insured that the property would be in better shape than when they got there ( boy were we fooled). Flower beds destroyed, windows broken(fixed 6 weeks later), roofing tacks in the swimming pool( kids stepped on while swimming) that just had a new liner put in 4 years ago, roofing tacks got into my automatic pool cleaner causing damage, gaps in areas where shingles (roof) meets walls, and small roof on back of building was not done completely. All this was brought to the attention of the salesman, admistrative staff, plus management in writing and we were never a priority to get anything done except for payment on my end. Overall the roof looks great but very disappointed. I hate leaving bad responses on companies because I understand things happened. If things are taken care in the future I will update this post accordingly.

I had the pleasure of working with Gary Taylor. He was able to work with our insurance company so they would pay for our roof. I called Gary at the last minute on a Monday evening (5:00pm) & he immediately came over & gave me an estimate around 6:00pm. Gary & his team were able to come out on Thursday morning around 8:30am & by 2:00pm, they were done. I would recommend Watts & Associates to anyone needing a new roof.

Watts & Associates just finished putting a brand new roof on both my father’s house and detached garage in Chapin’s Timberline Estates. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for high-quality craftsmanship and a professional team to work with.

The previous roof had suffered recent storm damage to the point where a new one was needed. Add to this the impending arrival of Hurricane Florence, just days away from potentially passing over Chapin. Alex Miller found a two-day window of good weather, got his team together, and went to work. He and his team arrived at 7am both mornings and worked late into the afternoon. They were careful with the surrounding landscaping, covering everything with tarps for protection. They used top-quality materials and did a great job cleaning up afterwards. One of the neighbors even commented, "The roof looks amazing and they did an incredible job cleaning up. The supervisor re-walked the property over and over to make sure everything was picked up.” Putting new roofs on both structures was in and of itself a big job, but Alex and his team also encountered a potential setback that could have slowed their progress. They discovered several areas of rot under the old shingles that would require extra time and attention. The Watts team fixed the affected areas and still managed to finish the roof within the time constraints imposed on them.

Was so pleased with the first roof and team that I had Alex look at a second roof I wanted done. We had that one done as well. The crew was super and did the roof in one day. Have had hard rains since and no problems on either roof. Made wife happy too. Both look exceptional.

Highly recommend this company. We have a large, challenging house and the work was completed in less than two very hot days. Care was taken to protect the surroundings and limit the temporary mess to the immediate border area of the house. Clean up was thorough and follow up afterward was very good. The new roof looks great.

I had heard from a friend that the team at Watts did fast work, was respectful of their property, and cleaned up after themselves. I called for an estimate on a minor repair and they came out the same day. They were knowledgeable, friendly, and gave me multiple alternatives. I ended up saving $650 for a basic repair. I can enthusiastically recommend this company.

During a storm, the roof on my 2 year old house began to leak badly. The roofer whom was involved when we built the house had left town. I called Watts and they sent a guy out the next morning. They immediately diagnosed the problem (poorly installed boots and flashing) and repaired it. The cost was very reasonable, and the guys who came out were very professional. I recommend them highly.

Watts and Associates replaced our old roof. The entire process was made extremely easy and the staff was very professional. It was clear that they had been in business for years and knew what they were doing. What impressed me the most was how clean the jobsite (our yard) was left when they were finished. I would recommend Watts without any reservations.

I have a property management company in Columbia. We have used many roofers over the last 40 years. Watts stand above them all. They do what they say they are going to do at a reasonable price. I highly recommend them.

Vetted several roofing companies to help us with leaks that were causing visible damage inside the house. Watts & Associates responded to every phone call in a timely manner and even accommodated a request for an in-attic inspection. The day of the job they arrived early and were finished by the time we got home. We did have some issues concerning old roof debris, from the construction, but they responded wonderfully and came out to sweep the lawn three times. At the first storm we experienced a leak. Called and they arrived next day to inspect, identify the issue and make a minor (instant) repair. Chris and Alex were great! Responsive, friendly, customer oriented. Can't recommend them enough.
UPDATE: During a subsequent rainstorm, we had a severe leak that turned out was not related to the new roof. Chris came out 2 more times and inspected, recommending a subcontractor that was experienced in chimney service. They came in and, in a wonderfully professional manner, gave us an estimate of what the problems could be. Chris and Alex of W&A coordinated with the subcontractor and stayed abreast of all the proposed repairs. We have since experienced multiple summertime downpours without so much as a drop of water in the attic!! W&A, Chris, and Alex were exactly what we needed; honest, informative, dedicated, and professional. Is there a rating higher than 5? I would give it.
