Virginia Chimney and Roofing did a great job in fixing the vent cap and HVAC exhaust lining problem at our house. The owner, Dennis Ashton, was very responsive and diligent throughout the process and the delivery team led by George was friendly and thorough in explaining everything and answering any and all questions. From start to finish the project was seamless and smooth. I would definitely go back to them for this type of service as well as other needs around the house in the future!

I am happy with the excellent work performed by Virginia Chimney and Roofing on my brick stoop. My original brickwork was deficient, including shoddy mortar and hidden voids, from when the stoop was first built. Since moving in 8 years ago, I've had two other companies do tuckpointing and repairs, with shoddy results, as illustrated in the second "before" photo. When Virginia Chimney and Roofing did their repair work, they ground through the deficient mortar to a deeper level than usual, going through several saw blades to get it done right, as illustrated in the first "after" photo. They fixed the voids, and they replaced all of the mortar, which in some places was nothing more than loose sand. They re-mortared the entire stoop, not just the parts that seemed loose or damaged. The color match for the new mortar seems absolutely perfect. Afterwards, they power-washed and sealed it all. They were easy to schedule, and they got the work done as quickly as possible. I am grateful to Dennis and his crew for a job well done!

The owner, Dennis, was very helpful in working with my insurance company to settle my claim for hail damage that occurred in August 24. The insurance company dragged my claim out for months but in the end was fully covered. The crews for replacing roof and siding were excellent and very attentive to detail. Dennis was onsite a good part of the time, answered all of my questions and kept me informed throughout the process. I would recommend his company.

Wonderful service by Virginia Chimney and Roofing. Both Tony and Dennis were very helpful over the phone answering all our questions, and Damien did excellent work cleaning out our very dirty chimney. Appointment was easy to book; Damien arrived on time (early even!), and was very efficient, neat, and friendly. Highly recommend! We called Sunday night and the chimney cleaner came at noon on Monday. He was very professional and efficient, thoroughly cleaning the chimney from the inside and inspecting the chimney on the roof. He pointed out a few minor cracks and places outside that need to be sealed by a handyman. Unlike other sweeps we've had in the past, he did not try to sell us hundreds of dollars of extra services.

Would give more stars if I could! Dennis the owner called me personally after the inspection to walk me through everything that needed done to correct poorly done past work. He explained the process and then worked with me to get it scheduled so we could use the fireplace over Christmas. The work was done professionally and I now have a safe and functional fireplace. Highly recommend!

wow! i found them on line, with great reviews. he actually answered the phone too! (that is rare these days). He got my chimney inspected quickly. It didn’t need to be swept but its better to be safe than sorry as we didn’t know how the prior owners or renters used it, if at all.

Tony was fantastic. We are converting our gas fireplace to wood and wanted the chimney inspected before we use it. I was hoping to have it done before we have guests for thanksgiving. Had an inspection and cleaning done, anything that was found, although minor was pointed out. During the cleaning process there was no mess and he cleaned up the area very well. We had a positive experience with Virginia Chimney and Roofing. I went to them for a second opinion, and they did not think I needed what the first service proposed. Dennis came across as knowledgeable, so I felt comfortable going with them. They did some tuckpointing and waterproofing, and everything looks good.

Have had them come out for a few things and each time they have been great. First had them get a fireplace that was capped and not used back up and running, do some chimney cleans, and checked another chimney for leaks. They have been great and I will confuse to use them for my chimney and fireplace needs.

I called for chimney services, was asked to text since they were out on the job and when I heard back was informed that they were busy and a week or two out was the first available date, which was totally fine. Tony called when he was 15 minutes out to let me know he would be on time, then was on time. He was lovely, personable, answered all of my questions and told me I didn't need to get my chimney swept until the end of next season, saving me some money. Honestly very happy with the service.

Dennis and his team are great to work with! We had a leaky chimney and Dennis came out personally for a free inspection and estimate. They quickly identified the issue and fixed all of our flashing for a very reasonable price. The team also didn’t collect payment until a few rains had occurred to ensure there were no lingering leaks. We definitely appreciated this commitment to customer satisfaction. A few months after our chimney repair, we had a branch fall into our utility shed and puncture a hole in the roofing. Dennis came out the next day to patch the hole in prep for a permanent fix once the weather warms up. I had them remove old throat dampers from two chimneys, install new top dampers on both, and install new fireplace doors on one. Outstanding work, they got the job scheduled fast, they worked fast, we're very happy with the results, and their price was reasonable. Highly recommend.
