ETA:
This company horribly misrepresents their business as BBB Accredited on their website and in other places on the web. They are not!! See additional pictures!!!
Editing to add a new found issue:
After a third attempt to complete a covered front porch (we supplied a picture of what we wanted) we still have issues with it! This roof should not be higher than the main roof as it will not provide proper drainage due to water not being able to flow up. The rain gutters do not drain properly, either! Also, please note the curled up shingles. These were laying on the ground in the front yard for over a month, in water and mud, and when asked if they were going to use them, we were told "have to stay on the budget I was given". Add to this how poor the workmanship with the actual installation of the shingles is. Home Owners Insurance does not cover poor workmanship if you have water damage and needless to say, there is water damage due to poor workmanship.
Like Scott Bills's review, we also had garbage in the attic. Garbage was found in the crawlspace also. Wires exposed in the attic, vents not properly hooked up, bathroom exhausts are left open in the attic, etc. I can honestly say their workmanship and honesty with this process is unethical and nonexistent and they just blame shift instead of taking accountability. To this day, we still have not had one apology for one thing that has gone wrong on their end.
A more detailed review is coming in the near future. Currently working with Virginia Carolina Homes to resolve dozens of issues. I would just like to address the Conflict of Interest with atleast one review here to elevate their rating. Heather Tatum is the General Manager for Virginia Carolina Homes and her leaving a rating/review is a huge Conflict of Interest.

Recently, I had the honor of working with Virginia Carolina Home during my home buying process and their guidance and expertise were invaluable. From start to finish, their team was professional, knowledgeable, and dedicated to helping me find my ideal home.
They took the time to understand my needs and preferences, and were always available to answer my questions and offer helpful advice. Their knowledge of the local real estate market and home buying process was vast, enabling them to guide me through each step with ease and assurance.
Their meticulous attention to detail and dedication to excellence were evident throughout the process, leaving me feeling secure that I was in excellent hands at each turn. They diligently searched for properties that met my criteria, providing invaluable insights on each home we visited.
My only suggestion for improvement would be having more frequent communications throughout the process. While everyone was always responsive and available when I had questions, it would've been nice to receive regular updates on our search progress and any new properties that became available.
Overall, Virginia Carolina Home has far exceeded my expectations as a reliable, knowledgeable, and professional team to guide them through the home buying process. They truly exceeded mine and I wouldn't hesitate to work with them again in the future."

Be aware, moved in about 10 months ago, no craftsmanship or care. Said they would come back but haven’t heard anything. After finding beer cans in the insulation upstairs they are not welcome back. (7) cans. Several integrity violations totally made the buying of the house untrustable. Asked for simple things like registers and missing globe and couldn’t get that. Absolutely no respect for the buyer. Never completed a walk through with us. Given a paper and told to fill it out is not how a costumer should be treated buying a house so I am fixing the problems myself. Leaky roof x 3, electrical wire cut by jack/outlets don’t work, most vents concreted together etc. they never showed to closing and told me I couldn’t get the keys until the money cleared. Couldn’t lock the doors for 9 days. Anybody knows if you are at closing your money is good. Save yourself the trouble and money and keep moving on.

The average roof replacement cost for a residential home typically ranges from $7,000 to $15,000, depending on factors such as roof size, chosen materials, roof pitch, and labor rates in your area. Premium materials or complex designs may increase the price.
The cost to replace the roof of a commercial building typically ranges from $5 to $12 per square foot, depending on several factors such as roof size, material, labor rates, building type, and local code requirements.
Several factors influence roof repair cost, including the extent of the damage, roof accessibility, material type, labor costs, and whether it’s a general repair or an emergency fix. Minor repairs can start around $150–$400, while major repairs may exceed $1,500.
Roof leak repair cost generally ranges from $300 to $800, depending on the size and location of the leak, the materials required, and labor intensity. Complex leaks involving structural repairs or interior damage will cost more.
Flat roof repair cost for commercial properties usually ranges from $500 to $3,000, depending on the roofing material (TPO, EPDM, PVC), the extent of the damage, and roof accessibility.
Mobile home roof replacement cost typically ranges from $3,000 to $8,000, making it generally more affordable than traditional home roof replacements, due to smaller size and simpler structure.
It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.
The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.
To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.
Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.
When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.
Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
