I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the deck and cover replacement project performed by Tiger Exteriors NW (AKA Tiger Roofing NW), which began in October 2024 and was completed on February 6, 2025.

The initial agreement included the addition of concrete pads under the deck and a dry area with corrugated metal and gutters to facilitate water runoff. However, the corrugated metal currently leaks around all sides of each piece. Furthermore, after a major rainstorm in June 2025, we discovered that the main roof of the cover is also leaking.

Despite numerous attempts to contact the company for repairs, our calls have been ignored, or ineffective repair visits have been scheduled. When men are sent out, they state that someone else is needed for the repair and promise to return in a couple of days, but no one ever does.

Beyond the current leakage issues, the entire project has been a nightmare. We were initially pushed to start the work, with promises of completion by Thanksgiving 2024 to keep your men busy during winter. The foreman even laughed on the first day, stating the Thanksgiving deadline was impossible. While modifications were made to allow use of our outdoor kitchen for the holiday, the project was not finished until February 6, 2025.

In early December, we were repeatedly asked to release funds from the finance company, despite the finance company's instruction not to release funds until the deck was completely done and we were satisfied. We encountered significant issues, including 3 inches of standing water and pooling near our house foundation due to improperly poured concrete pads. The company was unable to resolve this, and I had to enlist the help of my neighbor, a concrete professional, to fix the issue.

Another major problem was the installation of roofing that did not match our existing roof, despite me providing the name and color code and even the location of the existing roof materials. I was told the color was no longer made, but upon my verification with the supply store, it was indeed in stock. The correct roofing was eventually installed in January 2025.

This project has been riddled with problems, and it seems that addressing issues with Tiger Exteriors NW requires a significant fight to get things done properly. I have many more details that highlight the distressing nature of this build.

Tiger Exteriors put in a walkway beside my mobile home for my two pugs. It was done within a day and a half and it looks perfect! Exactly what I had in mind. The crew cleaned up the workspace and put my no dig fence back in place.

Tiger Exteriors NW installed a Trex composite deck in our backyard a couple of years ago. Unfortunately, the weight of our hot tub caused the deck to sag creating an uneven surface. When I notified Tiger of the problem, Jason McKinney immediately sent out a crew to inspect the deck to determine how to fix the problem, and it was fixed within two weeks. Jason and his crew exceeded our expectations, and we are very pleased with their work. They absolutely stand by the quality of their work.

We had a great experience with the whole Tiger team during our upgrade. Very professional and clean, on time, on budget. And they got to do some creative railing work to support our grape vines!

Honest!

Recently purchased a home with an existing deck. Mike came to inspect it for safety, looked at it, walked me through all the structural integrity items he was looking at, and found no issues. When I prompted him to give me anything he would fix, he said "Anyone that tells you this needs work is just looking to get money out of you. It's a great deck."

I'll be keeping this business card!

Jason & Mike were fabulous to work with on the initial quote (which, by the way was half of what we receive from another major company in the area) and explained in detail every activity from start to finish. The crew which was excellently, led by David arrived promptly at 8 AM each day as promised, and in 3 1/2 days my 12 x 47’ deck was completely installed. We could not be happier with the results and the service. Will definitely call them first if we ever need another project.

They replaced our failing paver patio with a beautiful deck, because we are in a townhouse access to the yard was only through our house, employees protected everything and used amazing caution bringing the materials through. They were fast, professional and efficient every step of the way, all debris were removed at the end of the project. The result is a beautiful beautiful deck, I can’t recommend them highly enough.

This review has been updated. We hired Tiger Exteriors to rebuild our decks. The initial work went smoothly, but about a year later we discovered a weak point in some of the rails and asked them to come back and repair them.

It took a bit of time to get the repair scheduled and we had some miscommunications along the way, but ultimately the final product is excellent after the revisions to the rails.

We contracted Tiger Exteriors to renovate our decks with Trex Composite, and re-roof our asphalt shingle house. What drew us initially to select Tiger Exteriors was their policy of working continuously on a job until it’s done - no bouncing between other jobs and pausing ours. Our deck was completed in 3 weeks, the roof in 3 days.

Our main contacts for the project were Jason and Mike, both very friendly, easy to communicate with and responsive, clearly presenting options and issues as they arose. Their deck crew was very professional: they arrived promptly in the morning, every day, were easy to talk to and ask questions, and their craftsmanship was excellent. Their roof crew was fast, responsive to issues, and their workmanship was excellent.

They remodeled 3 decks with Trex Composite and iron railing: 16x14, 16x20, and 10x6 (balcony deck). Several issues arose during construction: the old deck was only nailed to the house, not bolted; much of the deck foundation had dry rotted; some of the plywood under the house siding had dry rotted, due to missing flashing in the old installation, and the balcony support beams were too small. Each of these issues was clearly presented to us, with options for their correction.

All in all, I am very pleased with the entire process with Tiger Exteriors and with final product. I would definitely turn to them again for future work.

This company put a cover over our patio that was a little tricky, lots of valleys. They did a fantastic job, was on time, very professional, when we call for anything they answered or called right back. I would refer Tiger Exteriors to anyone.

We are very happy with the finished project, a beautiful deck.
The price was well under a larger company bid. We are thankful to get what we didn't think we could afford. The workers did a great job! The floor is trex decking, and the railing is black metal. The deck has a gate which is so handy!

After having a miserable experience with one of the big-box stores, it was wonderful to work with the entire team at Tiger Exteriors NW. I had a small project, but a very tight deadline that they met with cheer and professionalism. I'd highly recommend them.

Work we had done: New deck on three sides, house painting, door replacement, new roof. All work was done with excellent craftsmanship. Small issues were settled quickly and to our satisfaction. Communication was excellent with both Mike and Jason. If I have one qualification about our satisfaction it would be that we would have liked a more detailed description of materials and their costs and the labor costs involved. Overall, we would recommend Tiger Exteriors NW to anyone who wants quality work done by competent workers in a timely manner.

From the first time I met Jason and Mike I had a sense of confidence this was the organization I wanted to work with. They obviously had "seen it all" when it came to decking. They were thorough in evaluating and recommending what work needed to be done; listened thoughtfully and patiently to my questions and concerns; satisfactorily and professionally addressed them all - and I am particular. When John, Randy and the rest of the crew arrived to do the work, my confidence reached even higher. They were very skilled in their trade, knowledgeable problem solvers, always responsive and courteous to my questions, and just a wonderful, fun team to have around. I learned a lot from them! I am immensely pleased with the final result; the speed yet carefulness taken throughout the project; attention to detail; and how well they cleaned the site and put everything back in its place upon completion. I give them 5 stars in every category! Thank you Tiger Exteriors NW!

Everything about this build worked for us. The crew worked well together like a group of friends. No foul language, considerate, good clean up and knowledgeable. They found some damage that had to be taken care of and they fixed it straight away for reasonable cost. We gave them a pergola design to go on the second floor deck. Our design was adequate but not very pretty. They re-drew it and made it far more elegant. I would hire them again in a minute. The work was high quality, trustworthy and completed in a timely manner.

Pricing questions
1. What is the average roof replacement cost for a residential home?
+-

The average roof replacement cost for a residential home typically ranges from $7,000 to $15,000, depending on factors such as roof size, chosen materials, roof pitch, and labor rates in your area. Premium materials or complex designs may increase the price.

Service questions
1. Should I stay home during roof replacement?
+-

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
