Professional, fast work at a great price! We had quotes from 3 different roofing companies and this was by far the best price. The old roof torn off and the new one put on in one day. No shingles lost in the big storm yesterday. Very pleased. Will absolutely hire them for any future roofing needs.

Great experience. Homer came by with a quote and was very knowledgeable, without trying to oversell me. Gave a fair quote. We decided to go with them based off 5 or 6 quotes and just felt they were all around the company we wanted to go with. Accepted the quote electronically which was very convenient, a few days later their office called to get a downpayment. Within a few days Gary reached out to schedule and the crew showed up bright and early and had it wrapped up before the family got home that afternoon. Out of 7 contractors who said that they would give me an estimate. Only 2 came back. Tidewater roofing came through with the best. The other guy was a bit sketchy on his contract, (hand written).

Our house being on the beach gets a lot of wind, Homer gave us a couple ideas to go with for high winds. He really helped me with the questions I had to help me with our decision. I also don’t really think that he was trying to up sale me on anything.

I contacted Tidewater roofing for an estimate on having my shingles replaced. An appointment was scheduled, and Homer arrived to discuss options. Homer climbed up onto the roof and conducted his inspection. He then came inside and provided us with information on the GAF roofing system he was proposing to install. He did not bring a laptop in and show us a bunch of useless information about how steep the pitch of our roof was or what the average cost of a roof replacement was in our area. He gave us a written proposal that listed precisely what would be done and exactly what products would be used. Later on, Dave called to schedule the job. After choosing a date that works for both of us he said they would arrive on site at 7 AM and the job would take one day to complete. On the day of installation, the crew showed up exactly at 7 AM. They covered that might be damaged using tarps for protection. They installed the shingles, removed the waste, cleaned up completely and were gone by 1 PM. Dave remained on site the whole time and answered all my questions about what was being done. The entire process was done in a professional manner. As a sidenote, another company had quoted us more than three times as much money to install the same product. Call these folks if you’re interested in a no-baloney experience!

Our addition had leaking flashing. Tidewater Roofing who is the first to send out an estimator who was on time and very efficient. The bid came in and the job was scheduled within a couple of weeks. The job was done quickly, neatly and was done well. We have had several rains since getting our roof repaired and no problems now nor do we anticipate future issues. Tidewater Roofing was recommended to us by an insurance adjuster, which says quite a bit about them. I would not hesitate to hire them again.

They understood the timely requirement and found a way to squeeze in our repair. I will definitely be using them again.

The only thing that I feel the company needs to work on is communication but other than that they’re a pretty solid roofing company.

I really enjoyed working with this company! I needed a roof inspection quickly for an insurance renewal, and they added me to the schedule within days. The office staff (Diana) was very responsive, the technician (Josh) called in advance and showed up on time, and Keith called me in advance to review our needs, pricing ,and sent the report over within 24 hours of the inspection. I was very pleased with this company from the start . Ricky Comer was very knowledgeable and spent a lot of time explaining and showing me things that needed to be done. He addressed all of my concerns and was only a phone call away throughout the process. Jeff the foreman worked with me throughout the day of installation as I have 3 dogs that needed to go out during the day. The work crew were very efficient and kept things clean and orderly I highly recommend Tidewater Roofing!

My wife and I were in need of a roof replacement. So, we spent time shopping around and getting different quotes. Eventually, I came across Tidewater Roofing. They sent Homer Gurganus out to give us a quote. He was very personable and polite. He gave us a reasonable quote compared to other quotes from different companies. So, my wife and I agreed to use their services because of Homer's great customer service, the price, and eagerness to replace our roof (surprisingly, my wife and I had this problem with other companies). However, this is where the pleasantries ended.

The first sign of poor communication arose when it came to paying the down payment for the services. I waited over a week for someone to contact me to make the down payment. I eventually had to call them. I'm not sure if this was a misunderstanding on my part or a lack of communication on Tidewater Roofing's part. Either way, I was happy to start the process to replace our roof.

Once the down payment was made, I was told that the production team would be in contact with me to schedule the roof replacement. I understand that this process could be longer due to a large number of jobs or could be delayed to weather however I figured someone would contact me within a week. I waited over a week and called them back. I was told that the production manager will give me a call. This continued for nearly two months. I was told either the production manager was on vacation (everyone deserves a vacation and that is not my issue) or he would call me back each time I called. Eventually, I emailed Homer about the issue we were having. After contacting Homer, my wife finally got a call from the production manager to schedule the roof replacement.

On June 9, 2022, the roofers showed up at our house and proceeded to work on our roof. They worked exceptionally hard throughout the day to get the roof finished. For the most part, the work looks great however there are some issues with a few spots. I included a picture that highlights the worst area. The remaining issues are not as bad but aren't what we paid for. I mentioned this to Homer who had the guys sent out but they did not fix any of my concerns.

A week later, I get my final invoice which is nearly $2000 over the initial agreement. In the contract, there is subject to change in the price of the agreement however I never approved this amount. In every home renovation that I know of, they get approval from the contractee before they add any additional charges. We were never given any options or warning about these additional charges.

What seemed like a great decision to employ Tidewater Roofing became frustrating at the very least. I regret choosing them for our roof replacement.

Update: This is in response to the owner. This will be the second time someone has been sent out. The first time they did nothing to fix the issue nor did they come to talk to us. I understand that you "discounted'' the cost that was in our contract however no one discussed with me the additional repairs that needed to be done. If someone had come to talk to me before this additional cost was added, I could have either approved or denied the changes and we could have gone from there. There was zero communication from the beginning of our roof replacement.

Danny and Rob could not have been more detailed in their craftmanship. When they arrived on site, Danny and Rob reviewed the work to be done and took the time to not only explain to me the extent of the task but briefed me every step of the way as to EXACTLY what problems they were discovering once the work began. In addition, they had several suggestions on things to consider going forward regarding roofing and gutters. Never felt like they were trying to "get into my pockets" but rather presented themselves very genuine. Well done guys!!!!

This is a long overdue review of a roof and carefree gutter installation in 2018. The price of the roof and the gutters was very competitive, the install was perfect and we have had no issues with the roof or gutters. We actually thought we had a leak a few months ago, and when we called, a technician was out in less than 24 hours. He found it was a piece of siding on the house that had come loose and was letting water into the attic. The technician took pictures so we could see the problem, sealed the gap with a temporary fix (even though it wasn’t a roof problem) and there was no charge. Outstanding customer service. Highly recommend!

From the first phone call to schedule a quote to cleaning up the job site, the Tidewater Roofing team was top-notch. I recently bought a house that had a problem area on the roof and the previous roofers botched it. I was lucky to have Josh from Tidewater take on my repair. He was extremely communicative, walked me through his proposed repair step-by-step, stuck to the schedule he planned, showed up with a professional crew and knocked it out in a day, leaving the job-site spotless. It has been several months and have not had any issues. If anyone is in need of a professional roofing company I would highly recommend Tidewater.

I highly recommend Tidewater Roofing. This is the second job they have done for us and we are very pleased. They are a small family business, so they bring that personal touch to customer service. They are friendly, professional, but most of all very capable (been in the business in the tidewater area for years) and efficient. Dan arrived on time and expertly got the done without getting any debris anywhere in the yard (unllke my previous roofer). They do their own carpentry work - not sub in out to a contractor (like my previous roofer). Before Dan left he showed me before, while, and after photos. Impressive!!

We very highly recommend Tidewater Roofing and are extremely satisfied with the work they did for us. Kurt, the company salesman, started the process. He walked us through installation, provided sample shingles and color options, and did a great job in answering all our questions. We had a difficult time selecting a shingle color and, after viewing a few of Tidewater Roofing’s completed projects, we had it narrowed down to two color choices. Josh, a sales representative, and CJ, the installation team foreman, came to our home to help us decide on the color. CJ actually installed a few shingles on the roof, so we could see exactly what they looked like. Josh and CJ were great in helping us decide on a final color. The day the installation began, CJ and his team showed up on time, finalized placing protective barriers on the heating units and around the house, and immediately went to work. CJ continuously provided quality control over the job and was there to answer any questions throughout the day. Additionally, Kurt stopped by during the installation process to address any questions and make sure we were satisfied. At the end of the day, CJ and his team did a superb job of cleaning up. We couldn’t be happier with the quality of the shingles, the professionalism of the staff, and the work done by the installation team. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention Melonie, the office assistant, who answered all our questions and was so patient with us. Tidewater Roofing is a quality team that produces a quality product.

We called Curt at Tidewater for an estimate for replacement of our well worn, leaking roof. Curt showed up on time shortly after the initial call. He was thorough in his assessment and expedient with the results. Although roof replacement is not cheap, the price was quite competitive and we feel the end result yielded an incredible value.
C. J, the site manager, expertly structured the job and accurately explained the process from start to finish. He checked the site often and made a last visit shortly after the crew notified him of their completion.
The crew, lead by Pedro, worked tirelessly and methodically— a sign representative of truly experienced professionals. The foreman worked with the crew during the entire project leaving no measure unattended. Even in the hot sun and high temperatures, all involved stayed motivated and in good spirits.
Not only was this a job well done…it was just an awesome experience. We highly recommend this outfit.

A new roof was installed in April 2021. Multiple leaks were observed on August 4 2021. Leak was evaluated that day. Informed me that the roof itself was not leaking however the wall that abutted the roof was. Informed that as hey felt the roof was not leaking that a new work order would be processed and repairs would be done for further expense. Inspection revealed that old flashing was not removed and was unattached leaving a 2-4" gap.

I have contacted the Tidewater roofing 11 times in the past 2 weeks. I was contacted by the owner twice. He promised that the work order would be completed and the job would be scheduled.

This has not occurred.

I have filed a complaint with The Better Business Bureau.

I am very displeased with the poor follow up on this problem.

Brian took the time to answer all of our questions during the estimate process - something we didn't get with any of the other companies we spoke with. He provided plenty of reference materials for us to review, and he broke down every part of the estimate for us in complete detail. Then he got us scheduled even faster than we anticipated.
CJ, our foreman, was fantastic. He coordinated the parking and unloading of the trucks on our narrow street like a pro. And when we realized the ridge cap shingles were incorrect, he responded immediately to correct the problem and got the correct ridge cap installed ASAP.
Everyone was professional, polite, and thorough in their work. And our new roof looks fantastic. We couldn't be happier!

From the First Inspection to the day CJ came with his crew to do the job, before our expected installation, till when I signed the check for the finished job went smooth. Very professional work. The quote was fair, without sales pressure. Crews were on time, worked hard all day to make sure the job was done right and completed before night fall. The foreman CJ followed up with an inspection and installed flashing in the color of my choice. Very pleased with the new roof.

I was initially concerned that some work had been missed, but they responded right away and Nathan came back out to double-check and explain where some caulking had been done around the pipe vents and that the seals were still good. Great service!

Waited several weeks for an appointment. Roofer called stating an emergency and needed to reschedule set appointment for following day. No problem. Following day approaches no show no call. Called office which was nice, however not accommodating in getting a roofer out in timely fashion do to their employees scheduling.

Tidewater’s estimate was $400 less than that of a local competitor plus local competitor charged $75 for the estimate! We had Tidewater replace the roof on our previous home and again their price was the best and the work was excellent.

Initial TPO flat re-roof install looked good. Couple years later called in for a warranty because it started to leak. Had to call multiple times for someone to take a look at it. When roof inspectors finally arrived, was immediantly told it was a existing gutter issue and that it would not fall under a warranty. They mentioned that they would provide me a quote to get it fixed. Never heard back on the quote. Was surprised they were fast at dismissing the leaking roof as a gutter issue. Will not be calling back.

Tidewater Roofing came out to fix a leaking kitchen vent as well as fixing a bad repair that what done before I purchased my home. Each employee that I contacted with was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and professional. My repairs were delayed twice due to bad weather and the workers were prompt to inform me of when they would arrive. Great work done on time and a very fair price. Will definitely do business with again should the need arise. The customer service aspect of Tidewater Roofing sets them apart from any other competition.

They came out to repair my roof. The roofer noticed that my neighbor's shingles were also damaged or missing.I informed my neighbor. My neighbor got the roofer to repair the shingles right then and there. I thought that Tidewater Roofing would be more than happy to provide me a discount on my providibalance for providing them with additional business,b that was not so. My request was met with hostility from the owner and although he agreed to give the discount, it was after very aggressive and disrespectful behavior towards me. He said that I was wasting his time making such a request, he asked what kind of work did I do, and how could I expect a discount for 2 minutes of my time. That was just some of his lighter remarks. I guess that's why they say, caveat emptor!

My oven vent was leaking from the roof to inside the house and dripping onto the stove during moderate and heavy rain. I called Tidewater Roofing and they had Steve come out in short order and he was great! It took him a very short time to figure out was wrong and gave me a couple of options. Once we agreed on the price (very good based on my research), they came out again in short order. Kevin was fantastic as was JJ. They also fixed another problem that I just found the day before they arrived. I am extremely satisfied with both the price and the work. I recommend them highly!
