Excellent service. Every employee was helpful and friendly. The room was clean. I am picky with cleanliness, and I didn’t find anything that grossed me out. Our room was spacious and they made our beds and gave new towels on day 2, which is not the norm anymore.
My kids loved that they could ride the bikes around and have s’mores at the fire pit each night. I stayed two nights and had a a river view room. How gorgeous to see the Yellowstone River out the window and from the balcony.
The laundry room was very tidy and the washing machines and dryers were newer and free of charge. The front desk provides detergent and dryer sheets.
The hot tub was nice. This isn’t a five-star hotel jacuzzi but other guests and I enjoyed the hot tub very much. The water was clean although the concrete flooring around it could be nicer.
This location in Gardiner was very convenient for our first time in Yellowstone NP. We stayed 2 nights before heading to an in-between spot toward the Tetons. I recommend this hotel to families starting their roadtrip!
Oh one more thing, the lobby coffee was the best lobby coffee I’ve ever had. I usually hate hotel lobby coffee.

Highly Recommend! Amazing views and very convenient. The front desk staff and especially the manager are wonderful - professional and accommodating, and very helpful. We had an unexpected medical issue and they went out of their way to help us.

I stayed at the Ridgeline this week and it was a good hotel. It was clean. One major issue I had with this hotel was that I heard that several grizzly bears were in town and on property. My main concern was why they did not have bear proof garbage cans? If they want to make the property safe for guests, they need to have bear proof garbage cans and dumpsters. In my opinion, this isn’t a safe place to stay until that happens. Gardiner Montana is grizzly bear country and hotels should be required to Bear proof their trash.

Great location to enter the north side of Yellowstone. Gardiner, MT is a cute little town with shops and restaurants. Rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. Bathrooms could be bigger. Get a room on the river! The view is amazing!! They have free laundry facilities, they give you a reusable aluminum water bottle and s’mores (to use in the fire pit) at check in. Pool and hot tub are clean.

We stayed here two nights. One night in a room with the mountain view and one night in a room with river view. We spent near $700 for these rooms. In the mountain view room, you can't see the mountain, just an old rusty fence. The river view room was nasty and infested with bugs and gnats. Both rooms were dirty in fac. The first room shower was dirty and water didn't drain and there was no shampoo or body wash. The second room, there were hair all over the shower and bedsheets and pillows from the previous guests. We let staff know and they came and cleaned the bed and the shower but for the gnats they said they can't do anything. We asked to exchange the room and they said they are sold out. If you're ready to pay for a luxury hotel and get the feeling of camping by bugs crawling all over you while sleeping, stay here. Just look at these pictures. The ceiling is covered in gnats.

My husband and I just finished our stay at one of the Ridgeline Cabins. We loved our stay! First, the location is excellent- just a few minutes from the North Entrance of Yellowstone. Also, the hotel/cabins provide a beautiful view of the mountains and river. The cabins have a fun set up out front- fire pits, chairs and lawn games. We enjoyed a couple rounds of corn hole! Elk came to graze each night and we loved watching them from our porch and balcony. Our cabin was clean and very functional. We spent our days in the park and enjoyed relaxing at the cabin in the evening. We made s’mores with the provided s’mores kit- a sweet treat to end our days. Laundry is available on-site which was very helpful for our trip. We had stopped in a grocery store in Bozeman so we had pretty much everything we needed to make lunches in the kitchenette. Ridleys market, a few blocks from the hotel/cabins, had the other random items we needed. Our only note is that the service on the TVs/cable was more out than in, but we can’t really consider that a con because we weren’t spending much time watching TV!! If we are lucky enough to return to Yellowstone, we would love to stay at Ridgeline Cabins again!

Convenient location near the North Entrance of Yellowstone. Unfortunately, the room was not well maintained or clean - the entire bedding appeared unchanged from the previous guest. However, the staff responded promptly and professionally, and resolved the issue with a positive attitude. It’s an ok stay, be prepared to lower your expectations.

We stayed in the cabin. Loved the roof top view! The water bottle for Yellowstone was such a great touch. We never did make the provided s’mores. That was a sweet treat.

AVOID THIS HOTEL! For a $300 room I expected a clean room. It was very outdated but the cleanliness of the room was horrific. When we walked in the towels were dirty the shower was black there was a used soap bar by the sink. There was hair on the bed (not mine) It was in need of maintenance too. The peep hole to the door was broke and they stuffed toilet paper in it.

When we spoke to the shift manager she said they had the cleaning staff go and look at the room and it was fine. I’m not impressed with the rooms or the staff. I will be avoiding this hotel and I highly recommend you do as well.

We were extremely disappointed with our stay. Due to unexpected snow and being on motorcycles, we were forced to risk our safety and ride through dangerous conditions after the hotel refused to refund or work with us on rescheduling—even though we had planned a safer alternate route. We’re on a 7,000-mile, month-long, very budget-conscious motorcycle trip, so every dollar matters. To pay nearly $400 for a night only to be greeted by rude staff and placed in a room with a terrible “view” (see attached photo) was incredibly frustrating and disheartening. We had higher expectations, especially given the cost, and left feeling disrespected and taken advantage of. We hope the hotel will consider treating future guests with more understanding and professionalism.

They offered free reusable bottled water and smores to make around the fire pit, which was awesome. They have bicycles that can be signed out at not charge. And a great view of the Yellowstone River and Gardner, MT.

Filthy! Online pictures are misleading. Fecal matter all over the back of the toilet bowl. Reserved the directly through their parent company Choice Hotels and they did not inform me of a $15 charge on top of the already inflated price. I was traveling alone and the front desk woman said my room number out loud to a lobby full of strangers after asking if I was traveling alone. On top of this terrible experience - they charged me twice! I called the parent company and they said I needed to contact the front desk, but they can’t even figure out how to put a caller on hold.

This plane, town included, is a wonderful stay. Tons of unexpected little perks, wildlife on property, and the town is great too.

The worst hotel experience during my yellow stone trip. At least 20 years old furniture, lack of maintenance, dirty room when you come in, no free water, mandatory charge on bottles of water. 5 dollars each without any notice. Air condition is loud and smelly. WiFi and hotel phone is not working. Overall a well deserved 1 star review. Tried to avoid this place.

Last minute trip on my part (4 days), and this was one of the only hotel rooms available in town, booking at $300 a night. Upon arrival found hotel room to be very dirty. Chunks of food on floor, what appeared to be a scab or booger on the bathroom floor, plastic chunks on the floor, hair in the bathtub, soap on the shower curtain, mildew and stains on bathroom ceiling, urine smell in bathroom, mysterious white spots on skirting of bed, scratches and scuff marks all over the wall, etc. The pictures online make it look very clean and more modern, so this room was not what I expected and especially not for $300/night. Notified front desk early the next morning who said they were new staff and would have to inform their manager. They asked if I could come back at 8am or 3pm to speak with the manager, which I was not able to as my itinerary included being in the park all day (for the next 3 days, early morning and late night returns). I asked if their manager could call me. Never received call or message (could have been due to no service). Hotel room was never cleaned until the day before I left. Was in a bind as the next available hotel room was an hour away, with nowhere else in town to stay. Will not be coming back to this hotel in the future, unfortunately.

Rooms are nice enough, but front desk person needs to take a chill pill. And the hotel needs to figure out how to hire enough people to make sure rooms are ready by 4:00 p.m., not at 9:00 p.m.

I have come here to comment only about the rooms Mattress. You feel like you are sleeping on a cloud. It's the most comfortable mattress ever and you will rather sleep in instead of visiting Yellowstone. Apart from that good location, clean, Smart TVs, great river view.

Rating: 2/5

I stayed here for two nights and, unfortunately, I wish I had left with a better impression. While the location and initial room cleanliness were decent, the overall service and guest attention fell short.

The beds and pillows were acceptable—not luxurious or new—but comfortable enough for a good night’s sleep. There are a few positive aspects worth mentioning: binoculars are provided in the room for your Yellowstone Park adventures, and they offer bikes (though we didn’t use them, so I can’t confirm if there’s a fee). They also have an indoor pool and a firepit for making complimentary S’mores (though in our case, these were never offered).

During our short stay, housekeeping on the second day was minimal—seemed like the bed was simply remade, and no coffee was replenished. Upon arrival, we noticed there was no shower gel, so we contacted the front desk to request it along with some coffee, but we were told we had to pick everything up ourselves at reception. This felt like something they should have prepared in advance.

The staff at the coffee station in the morning were not friendly at all, which added to the disappointment.

What really left a bad impression was seeing a pile of clothes, a phone, and keys dumped outside the room next to ours. It looked like a guest had been evicted and their belongings left on the floor. Regardless of the reason—whether unpaid bills or reservation conflicts—this should have been handled more discreetly and respectfully. At the very least, items could have been placed in a bag and stored securely by hotel staff.

Sadly, this experience left a lot to be desired. Service quality: 4/10.

Positive: Nothing was as it showed on their website, the entire place is under construction. The only good part was that when we choose not to stay we got our refund right away. Negative: The place is being renovated, it appears as if they suffered some kind of flooding due to being right next to a river. New stuff was sloppily done, old stuff was filthy.

The location of this hotel is perfect to see Yellowstone National Park and enjoy the river... the river view rooms are a beautiful way to end your day or wake up to in the morning. The front desk and staff were so informative, helpful and friendly. The beautiful fire pit areas are a bonus, the smores kits are a thoughtful touch, not to mention the free use of the laundromat. Great game room and enjoyed the outdoor hot tub. The personal touches like the use of binoculars and walking sticks and the ladies at the front desk as well as other staff were so great! Not to mention the beautiful views will bring us back again. Great stay!

The view is AMAZING! I stayed in a double room on the first floor (no elevator). This was a nice room, clean, and smelled fresh! Elk walked and ate around the grassy areas of the hotel most days. So great! The beds are COMFY! There is a tv, coffee maker, fridge and microwave in the room. The hotel has "free" washer and dryer room for the guest and they provide the laundry detergent and dryer sheets for free as well. They have a firepit and provide makings for smores.

The people at the front desk (except 1) is great. I especially liked Ameika and Dylan. I really liked all the others but one, she was a bit snooty, and rather rude, and she only "knows" 2 restuarants when educating her guest, and I'd only been here a few days (10 in all) and knew better restuarants. Anyway, everyone else was FANTASTIC! I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Yellowstone, North Entrance. I loved it!

I had an opportunity to stay at Ridgeline Hotel in January 2025 with a photography group exploring Yellowstone park, and look forward to doing so again next year. The hotel is located along a beautiful river so many, if not all, of the rooms offer a quiet and peaceful one night or more stay. The hotel offers a restaurant next door and ease of access to other food and retail type establishments in town. A special thank you to Carolyn and Cindy for being available with any questions or needs during my stay, and a big shout out to them for offering the "smore kit" which was a lot of fun to enjoy by the fire next to the office. Also, I would be remise if I didn't thank Cedar for his help with a technology question just before checking out. As I experienced, each of these kind folks have a genuine interest in helping the hotel's guests during their stay, and I certainly appreciated during my two night stay.

This time last year (January) I made a reservation for Ridgeline through Choice Hotels for September as a part of a 6-week western trip. I received a confirmation email with conformation number. One week before our scheduled stay I received an email with my confirmation stating that they were looking forward to our stay. When I arrived I was told they did not have a room for my wife and me. They repeatedly asked me my name. I repeatedly told them. I also offered my confirmation number. They did not want to see that and kept saying they had no room for me and were fully booked. Finally they took my confirmation number and told me that Choice had not transferred my reservation to the hotel. Despite that I had a reservation, they would not give me a room. They offered me a room, late in the evening that was at the other end of Yellowstone and not acceptable for our itinerary. Finally we found our own room in town which cost more and was not as suitable for us. I later understood that they were supposed to help secure a local room for us, but they did not. The manager on duty was rude and unhelpful.
Later a Ridgeline staff person, who was kind and helpful, said she was trying to get Choice to give us points to make up for their mistake. After weeks of trying, and several phone conversations she had gotten nowhere.
I cannot recommend this hotel and no longer recommend Choice Hotels. They apparently are not interested in my business and will no longer get it.

Top notch experience, we were greeted warmly and professionally. So many little personal touches from the free s’mores over the fire to the offer of help bringing our luggage to our room. Very comfortable very clean worth every penny. With the pool and hot tub and games room as an extra bonus. Watch out for the elk when they are sleeping at night and you were walking your dog.

The hotel is older but they have nicely remodeled/updated the interiors. There are no elevators which is fine but several boards on the outdoor stairs were in need of repair/replacement.

The hotel is located very close to multiple eating options, buts right up to the river (highly recommend river view rooms), they offer free smores kits every day along with a large fire pit, free laundry facilities (including detergent and dryer sheets) and bikes for rent/use.

Stayed few days ago, for two nights Everything inside the room is clean. Exterior has some rusty look. But it matches with every building in Gardiner. Unless you plan to come to Gardiner and stare through the window most of your day, don't bother about river view/mountain view selection. You just step out of your room. You see nice views all around

I stayed here two nights our friends and I visited Yellowstone Park. Our rooms overlooked the mountains! The picture was taken on our last morning from just outside the door of my room. The people were super friendly. They have a great patio area that is covered and pretty windproof, with a fire pit in the middle. Every day you can get two s’mores packages from the front desk if you want them. The rooms were very clean, although, as some have commented, they are a little dated. But don’t let that put you off, I cannot imagine a more convenient place for visiting the park. I have to say, the price took my breath away, but everything around here seems quite expensive. I would stay here again.

We enjoyed our experience at the Ridgeline Hotel. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The front desk attendants were very helpful and polite. (We loved the evening s'mores at the fire pit.) The location of the hotel is fabulous, just outside the northeast entrance to Yellowstone Park. We will definitely use this hotel again.

My wife and I stayed in the explorer cabins, and what a pleasant surprise toward the end of our vacation to Yellowstone. We spent two nights here and enjoyed our stay. The cabins are clean, well appointed with plenty of amenities, large fridge, microwave, electric stove top, dishwasher etc., The location is perfect for the Lanmar Valley, Mammoth and Norris Geyser areas of Yellowstone. There is a decent restaurant on site that offers good food and an early breakfast buffet, a bit convenient, but oh so convienant. A plus is the cabins top deck for watching beautiful sunsets over the mountains (lowe decks are nice, but views are blocked by the hotel). The bed was comfortable, and the modern bathroom was great. There is a free laundry on-site and fire pits and free s'more kits at the desk.
We are already planning to bring more of our family here next September.

The bathtub was super dangerous. You can tell the hotel half assed trying to fix it by laying down non-slip strips but they were dirty and not properly applied.

The bed seemed old and was super uncomfortable and the fridge was incredibly loud- what an awful night.

The shower head was dirty, there was dust everywhere, and the air conditioner did not work well and has not been cleaned out in quite some time.

No complimentary breakfast but we got bottles of water. Woohoo.

What a waste of money almost $400/night - find a better place to stay. Beware of the price gouge. You’re not paying for the view, you have the park for that.

Extremely disappointed.

For a non chain this place was very clean and had a good view. Staff was friendly.

Very close to park entrance and close to the strip with all stores and what not.
Thank you.

What an amazing spot! We stayed at the cabins and they were so nice and comfortable. Super quiet and everything's brand new. The drive to the hot springs is only 5 min away. The hotel was super clean going to the pools and hot tub. The hot tub was clean and wonderful. So close to Yellowstone also!

Edit. The prices have gotten ridiculous and we won't be staying here anytime soon. What happened? You doubled the prices within a year.
