I needed to have my attic inspected for mold so based on the great Google reviews I called TRT. Ryan had his team to my house the same day! They completed the job efficiently, professionally and explained the process as they went along. I would highly recommend them. They were fantastic.
On June 6, 2025, we went down to visit my grandmother before we were leaving for vacation. We were gone for maybe two hours. When we came home, our basement was flooded. We were leaving for Myrtle Beach the next day at noon. I called this company because they were local and offered “emergency service”. I asked what we could do in the meantime. He said clear the area. So for two hours, our neighbors came over and helped my husband and I clear the basement. My mother-in-law and son used carpet scrubbers to continuously suck up water. We have a large pump for our pool that we placed in the middle. My husband and the neighbor pushed the water towards the pump and pumped a ton of it out by the time the company got there. The carpet was still wet, but not nearly as bad as it was. The man extracted some water and put in a large dehumidifier. He did not go over the entire floor. He worked on a small section during the time he was here. He sprayed some microbial spray and said he would be back the next day to finish extracting the water. He charged me $2500 and said he would get the basement dry.
Saturday, June 7 comes and we are getting ready to leave for vacation. The company comes back and is startled that we are still here. They thought we left already so they tell my husband we are just getting some of the equipment. We will be back later today. We have ring cameras and my in-laws live directly across the street. They never came back on Saturday. On Sunday afternoon, I sent a message to the owner of this company, asking how the basement looked. He had not been there yet. My mother-in-law went over to the house and said that it was untouched and not in any different condition so my mother-in-law at that point used her carpet scrubber and took out 15 buckets of water from the carpet. I then confronted the owner of this company and asked him why my mother-in-law had to do the work that I was paying him $2500 to do. He kept texting me and giving me the runaround as you can see from the pictures. When he finally called my husband spoke to him on the phone. My husband questioned why nobody came on Saturday like they said they would and why no one had been there Sunday. The gentleman said that he was running a dehumidifier. Clearly a dehumidifier alone was not going to resolve the problem and he told us that he would be back on Saturday to extract more water. He apologized to my husband and said that he must’ve misspoken when he told us he was going to get the carpet dry. We came to the agreement that he would refund our money and get his things out of our house. The conversation was left on mutual terms and we didn’t think there would be another issue with this company moving forward. However, days later, when I inquired about the refund, I was given the runaround yet again. In the messages, you can see where he agreed to what he said to my husband about refunding our money he just said that it may take a couple days. And then it all comes to head today when his wife who is apparently in charge of accounting messages me that she needs my email because she wants to send an invoice for the work that they did. I said I don’t see why I need to give you my email because I was told you were giving us our money back. Then the story changed. The woman changed her husbands wording, which he clearly agreed to the refund in writing via text AFTER HE ALREADY TOLD US HE WOULD OVER THE PHONE. So now the woman said, “Yes he said if the invoice was below the $2500 we would refund you, which it is not. And why I am trying to email you the breakdown.” Her husband, the owner of this company, literally said he would refund our money. Not a portion, never said the word invoice. (I gave the woman my email and hours later, still no invoice.) They did not do what they said they were going to do refuse to refund any of our money.
I highly recommend TRT—they are prompt, knowledgeable, and professional. Before contacting them, I read several reviews, and they lived up to the positive feedback. What stood out to me, was that they sent actual water mitigation experts to assess the damage—not salespeople. The team performed thorough testing, provided an honest assessment from worst-case to best-case scenarios, and clearly explained the mitigation process.
