We came here for our 2 year anniversary, and had a fantastic time. The food was amazing and they had a really good wine selection. The service was also above and beyond, Tiffany was very kind and attentive.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! Ask for Tiffany!!! Tiffany was one of the best servers we have ever had, and we come to St. Augustine at least once or twice a year. This was our first time at the Drunken Horse and we have always wanted to eat here. This will definitely be on our list to come back to each and every time we visit. We had the escargo to start and it was amazing!!! My son and I had a hard time deciding what to order so we both ordered entrees and shared them. We got the sea bass and the shrimp. They were both to die for! And of course we couldn't leave without having the creme brulee for dessert. It was one of the best creme bruleles I've ever had in my life. The Ambiance and this restaurant is like no other. It has such a good vibe and everyone that works there is super friendly. Tiffany made our night so memorable! It was our last meal of our trip and we cannot wait to come back! A+++

We ate there two nights in a row. First night was so good that we had to return the next night. Food is absolutely wonderful. First evening we had the scallops and the shrimp and salad. Scallops were the best I've ever eaten. 2nd night was tuna tartar and the Seabass....incredible...every bite was perfection. This is gourmet food with out the drama of ridiculous plate and silverware settings cluttering the table. Love this place.

We celebrated our 46th anniversary at The Drunken Horse in St. Augustine and were thoroughly impressed. The service, led by Roderick, was warm and attentive. We started with the fig and prosciutto salad—an unusual and delicious combo. My wife had the risotto pea soup, which was delicately flavored and generously portioned. I had the Confit de Canard—a duck leg with garlic mashed potatoes and port sauce—that was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The crème brûlée with raisin topping was a great finish. Good wine, reasonable prices, and a nice range of entrée options. A great place for French cuisine—we look forward to coming back!

Our dishes were good enough but kind of disappointing. The foie gras was tasty but had a weird texture. The Beef Bourguignon was okay but not traditional. The Tuna Tartare was pickled. The dessert wine was okay but not great and was short poured. Judging by the dishes that we have ordered, it's too far to call it authentic.

A hidden gem in charming St. Augustine. Consistently excellent, especially the escargot and sautéed shrimp. No reservations needed, beautiful courtyards, but I like to sit at the bar.

Definitely don't miss this cute French spot if you are in St. Augustine! Unfortunately the first night we arrived we came too late and they weren't able to seat us, but we were able to come back later in our trip. The place has a very nice ambiance. Our waitress was very friendly and the food came quickly. We got the beet & arugula salad, the truffle mushroom risotto, the apple butter brie sandwich, and we got the creme brûlée and chocolate lava cake for dessert. Everything was delicious! The apple butter brie sandwich was cut into four pieces and had more of an appetizer vibe than an entree, but splitting it with the risotto was perfect! The desserts were both lovely. The creme brûlée was sweet but not too sweet and was super creamy with a great bruleed top. Meanwhile the cake was on the bittersweet side and also very good. Nothing bad to say about this place except that the prices are a little high, but I think worth it for what you get.

We are so psyched we found The Drunken Horse on our first night in St. Augustine. Wow...wonderful, wonderful food and our hostess Tiffany was absolutely a treat. We will certainly be back before we leave and I simply don't say things like that. Neither my wife, nor I have had a more satisfying meal. So glad we came. Thank you for the magic you guys bring! Woop woop!

My husband and I had dinner here after getting a recommendation from a cocktail server at a little bar across the street. We sat out back on their beautiful patio. What a gorgeous setting. It was the best restaurant we ate at while visiting St. Augustine for the weekend.

The original place we wanted for dinner was closed and I’m so glad it was or we would have missed out. We made our way here and enjoyed the Bourguignonne French flat bread, Fig and Prosciutto salad, Crème brûlée and chocolate lava cake. Everything was perfectly portioned and delicious. The staff was very friendly.. Highly recommend dining here. We can’t wait to visit the next time we are in town.

Lovely staff and lovely atmosphere. Inside and outside seating options but we chose inside for air-conditioning. Lots of wine selections. We loved the cheese platter (they chose 3 for us)! We didn't have room for dessert but it also looked good. Such a cute place and the people there were so great!

Foie gras, scallops, duck mousse, warm bread and wine! Oh my, what an experience. The staff and owner were gracious, the food was plentiful and prices, reasonable. When in St Augustine, don’t settle for a burger or tourist food. Give these guys a shot. 4 yrs in St Aug and killing it

The Drunken Horse is an exceptional restaurant, which provided an experience I will remember. My boyfriend and I sat outside at the front of the restaurant, and it made me feel like I was sitting at a French cafe. It was nice because the walls out front provided privacy and yet from our table we could still see a small part of the street and watch as people walked by. I wonder how many people walk by this restaurant and have no idea the gem they are passing by. The pink carnation on each table was a nice detail that added a pop of color. My boyfriend and I split a Fig and Prosciutto Salad, which was fresh and it had figs, need I say more. My boyfriend had the Pan Seared Sea Bass which tasted light and buttery with the Beurre Blanc Sauce. I had the Confit de Canard, a roasted duck leg with fingerling potatoes, haricot verts, and a port sauce. I love duck and eat it frequently when I can find it at restaurants so one could say I know my duck. This duck melted in my mouth, and the flavor was complimented nicely by the port sauce. The dish from start to finish was a delight. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. He provided a wine recommendation based on the dish I selected, and the wine and duck were fabulous together. It was such a a pleasant experience I wanted to rewind the night and have the experience again.

On our last night in St. Augustine, my friends and I decided to have my birthday dinner at the Drunken Horse. We were staying in St. Augustine for the weekend and all of our other dining experiences were lack luster. The Drunken Horse changed that very fast!!! To start, it feels like a little hidden gem in the middle of town. We went because we heard they had creme brulee and we we not disappointed. Our waitress was so warm, kind, and really attentive. She realized it was my birthday and ensured I felt special. My friends do a great job of helping me celebrate, but our waitress was the candles on the cake! The food was amazing and their wine selection has something every type of wine drinker would enjoy. The fondue was warm and delicious and the Risotto tasted like a warm hug. I am grateful we stopped by and ate here. It is definitely on my recommended list for anyone that would like to visit.

Stopped in for dinner while on vacation in St. Augustine. It was a lovely springtime evening so we asked to be seated in the rear courtyard.

Our waitress, Tiffany, was right there and we started off with a glass of Proseco and a small charcuterie board. Everything on the board was of the highest quality.

We then moved on to our entres, I had the sea bass and my wife had the chicken. Both dishes were perfectly prepared and elegantly presented. I also requested a bottle of Viognier which was not on the wine list. Tiffany knew they had one in stock in their extra wine selection and got that for us.

All in all, it was one of the most delightful dining experiences we've had in a long while. Tiffany, our server was possibly the best waitress we've ever had. Knew exactly what she was about, attentive without hovering, lovely personality, could describe the food well, just the best. When in St. Augustine The Drunken Horse will be our first choice, "MUST GO" list.

We ordered the cheese fondue, fig/prosciutto salad, sautéed shrimp, and beef bourguignon. They were all FANTASTIC. Absolutely delicious. Everything was so fresh. The beef just melted in your mouth - barely any fat on the meat. We didn't have a reservation and were able to get a seat for 5 people on the patio within 5 minutes. Service was great. Personable staff; present owner. Everyone was super friendly. The atmosphere was so inviting and quaint. We can't wait to return!

We went here for after dinner drinks and desserts. The creme brulee was delicious. It absolutely hit the spot. Their dessert wines were fantastic. My wife got a Cabernet and she said it was amazing. The outdoor seating with the cool night air was very relaxing. The wait staff were helpful and knowledgeable.

What a find!!! Took a chance on this place and it totally paid off. Great dish combinations and options. The atmosphere was fantastic… a nice respite from the craziness of St.George/Charlotte streets. Could use a bit bigger drink list, but don’t let that hold you back. Absolutely plan to come back!

We’ve been coming here for years for obvious reasons. Tonight we had the salmon and the duck for our main event. The salmon was delicious and the duck full of flavor. If you’re a foodie, this is your place in St. Augustine.

This is our second visit to TDH. We live out of the state but this will be one of our premier meal experiences while in St Augustine. Staff, clean facility, service, wine selection, and quality of food make this a must experience. See you again February 2026.

Stopped in for just a glass of wine and charcuterie board, the food and service were so amazing we had to come back for dinner, and we're so glad we did! Started off with the escargot, served with the most delicious warm french bread. Dinner was confit de canard (duck confit) and beef bourguignon. The duck was cooked to perfection, likely the best duck dish I have ever had.

Have heard good things about this place and wanted to try. Stopped in for supper. Got a Tarte Flambee Alsacienne Flatbread and the Fig & Prosciutto Salad, accompanied with an Italian Pinot Grigio. All food and drink exceeded our expectations.
Sat at the bar, and service was excellent. Tiny bit loud since the room is small, but not too bad. They also have a back room AND a patio behind the bldg for additional seating.
Totally going back some day. Fun menu and delicious food.

Saint Augustine is our home away from home. It’s a short drive from Jacksonville, and has beautiful beaches, fabulous restaurants and simply oozes charm and history.

Do yourselves a favor, dine at Drunken Horse, centrally is located on Charlotte Street.

We walked in at around 5:30pm, which is early for us but we wanted to walk around the Old City and photograph the lights. There are tables outside, with warmer lamps,. But, as Floridians, we opted for an indoor table. If memory serves correctly, there are three outdoor tables situated in an adorable outside courtyard; approximately twelve table in the main dining room, about twelve to fifteen seats at the bar, and an additional six to eight tables in the back room. I believe there were some tables out back.

It was a pleasure to dine at this amazing restaurant. I chose the escargot as my hors d’oeuvres and my husband ordered the seared sea scallops. Both were extraordinary. The escargot was scrumptious and the scallops simply melted in one’s mouth. Beyond divine!

For the entree I selected the boeuf bourguignon. It was truly delightful. The meat was fork tender, the carrots sweet and delicious and the potatoes were cooked perfectly. As to the broth, well, it should be illegal in the Lower 48. Yrs, it was that good. Put another way, the boeuf bourguignon could, quite easily, be my last meal.

My husband ordered the shrimp. Again, superlative. The shrimp was tender, cooked exquisitely and flavorful.

Drunken Horse serves wine and beer, only. No mixed drinks. We ordered a bottle of excellent Cabernet Sauvignon, Aviary, which perfectly accompanied the bourguignon. The wine list runs the full gamut, and most bottles are priced reasonably.

St. Augustine is known for its hospitality, and we enjoyed our discourse with the owner. Our server for the evening was Tiffany, who went above and beyond. She is the quintessential server, who knew when to approach, and when to leave us to our own devices. In other words, I saw her keep an eye on our table, and appeared to instinctively know when to appear. She was a true delight.

Truth be told, I perused the menu prior to our visit and wanted to ordered the molten lava cake for dessert. Well, the best laid plans of mice and women…. Long story short, the preternatural French dinner left us “replete with an elegance of sufficiency”. In other words, we were full!!

We eagerly anticipate future trips to this superb French restaurant.

This place was amazing! Went there for a late dinner after a carriage ride for night of lights on Wednesday with my girlfriend. They were actually one of the only places open past 9 and that's when the ride ended. So I called to see if a table was available since it was close to closing and they said sure in a friendly voice! We arrived and we were the ivy ones in the restaurant, I believe our server was named Roderick and he was so friendly and amazing we both thought he was the owner as he was taking such good care of us while him and the staff stayed open for just us being there! He suggested a wonderful wine pairing with our 3 course meal and everything we had was the absolute best version I've ever tasted of it from the French onion soup to the creme brule to the roast duck entree in between! As well as the service! Thank you all so much for being so accommodating, would definitely recommend trying it, you won't be disappointed! And great ambiance as well with real flowers that were amazing and it was just such a wonderful evening I can't wait to come back again! Thanks Roderick and company! You're the absolute best!

I chose to dine at the Drunken Horse based on the plethora of great reviews I read on google, and I am happy to add my raving review to this collection! The Drunken Horse has it all as a restaurant; the ambiance is perfection, the food was stellar and the service was top notch! My daughters enjoyed the roasted chicken entree and the salmon dish. The adults in our party decided to enjoy the menu a la tapas style and shared the charcuterie board (including pate de campagne, a semi soft cheese and the jambon de bayonne), escargot, ratatouille, the pan seared scallops, and the Parisienne and bourgouignonne flatbreads (that we ordered twice). Each dish was packed with flavor and was beyond delicious! We ended the evening with two orders of the chocolate lava cake that of course were amazing too! My only regret is that I did not take pictures of our meal, but I hope it only entices you to go and experience this wonderful restaurant for yourself. I also can’t finish this review without mentioning how great our server Peter was!

I'm not sure where to start, from beginning to ending, top to bottom, great experience. We elected to eat at the bar, Bridgett was our guide. We started with the 3 pick charcuterie board and Champaign. We ordered a very nice bottle of wine. I need to explain, they have the names of the grape variety and prices, but no maker names, this is because they change their offerings frequently, but this gives you, and them,a way to offer a wide variety to select for us, and select they did, we had two very special reds with our meals, beef bourguignon and confit de Conrad (duck leg) it was all great. They don't take reservations and only serve wine and beer. This will be a must stop for us for now on

The service and restaurant was intimate and nice, but the food was inedible for myself and barely edible for my wife. We both wanted the short rib dish but it wasn't available. So we had to go with second choices, which was unfortunate. The risotto with shrimp was $42 and was a tiny portion of rice soup that was super watery and bland. The shrimp seemed to be entirely unseasoned and simply boiled and tossed in the dish, and four tiny shrimp for $10 was insulting. The salmon was cooked super rare and wasn't great either. We ended up going around trying to find another restaurant to eat at. The wine was good.

Holy moly! A gastro tour of taste and sheer excellence! From the friendly and helpful service of Bridget to the highly skilled chefs who composed our pan seared sea bass and short ribs in red wine to perfection! Escargot to start and a cream brûlée with cappuccino to finish the perfection of dining at the Drunken Horse. Do not miss this stop. The wine, service and meal are simply top notch. It will have you planning on your next trip with eager anticipation!

We’ve been wanting to stop by this gem for a while now, walked in around 5:30 and sat right away in the charming outdoor court yard. We got the cheese fondue, bourguignon, the duck and lava cake. All dishes were superb. I cannot stress the decadence of the cake, it was an experience. Service was welcoming and attentive. Will make this spot a usual on our list for sure.

A homey eatery serving French fare and elevated eats. My wife and I indulged in charcuterie, and two entrees - French onion soup and Roasted Duck w/ mashed and green beans. Food was tasty, and service was excellent. We came on a chilly night, and they had warmers outside which was a nice touch. Overall really solid. If you’re into good food, and are looking for a nicer dining experience this is the place to come to.

Enjoyed dinner at this restaurant in the historic area of St. Augustine. Sat in the small entrance courtyard which was very pleasant. There is more courtyard seating behind the restaurant but it was full. Had the Pan-Seared Sea Bass and it was delicious! Good service.

Service was kind of slow but worth the wait. Food is delicious and they have the best creme brulee, we had to order more. The onion soup is perfect, too. We got outside seating, and it was cold but pleasant.
