We've just completed our 4th project in the past 2 years with Fidus construction. We replaced a roof, added gutters, built a beautiful patio with fireplace & just paved our driveway & front walkway. I cannot recommend this company due to the guy that I'm working with on a current project. A small project for them... Was promised on three separate occasions that the job would be finished before my clients came back into down as,I am their home manager It was overseeing the projects being done. I even spoke the morning of as he was supposedly dropping material off at the job site to have his guys go finish up the project and put the pavers back in(for the third promised attempt). Needless to say it never got done and I was not communicated with. Now it is the weekend and nothing can be done, my clients have arrived and are very upset that they cannot use their very large driveway for a party there having at their house. So I am paying the consequences for them dropping the ball for the third time...and now no response.

Follow up-after posting my review i received calls/texts immediately regarding my issue. Apologies were made, the issues were addressed, we are all human and make mistakes, lessons were learned. Ii can understand that. I appreciate the veracity of the rectification of the situation. For that i am amending my star review. Thank you

Replacing a roof is a major expense and we wanted to make sure we chose the right company for the job. In the end we chose FIDUS and are very happy that we did. Peyton came over initially and we were very impressed with his knowledge and the options he offered us. Nate was our project manager and did a fantastic job getting our roof completed in just two days. The crew worked hard and left everything looking just as it did before they arrived.

My family and I couldn't be more happier of the roof replacement service we received from Fidus Roofing. Ryan is A++ in helping us deal with our insurance company. Provided us the key documents we needed to share with our insurance company and were enough for our Insurance to grant the full roof replacement. We could not be more grateful. Bonnie from the front office is A++ in coordinating and scheduling our roof. Bonnie did not fall short in communication. We didn't have to lift a finger in getting our HOA approval. She did it all. Informed us well ahead of the delivery of the materials and dumpster. We were able to plan ahead and clear the driveway. That went very smooth. Lastly, Nate the person who oversee that the project went smooth and as expected. Despite of our concern of inclement weather that could impact the work that day, he assured us that safety and proper installation of our roof and that he'll assess the weather as the day goes and will make drastic decision to halt the work should the weather worsen. Thank goodness the weather cooperated as we went deep into the day and got the work done. Yes, work got done on that same day. They cleaned up pretty well as well. Though such a simple "thank you" may not be enough to reciprocate how grateful we are, know that on behalf of my family, we appreciate your service a ton, Fidus Team.

I called New Year’s Eve to FIDUS Roofing not expecting to get anyone. They sent a representative almost immediately. Ryan Dickey came over the same day to look at the job. He came prepared and gave excellent advice on options. I got an estimate in 2 days and the job was completed in less than a month. Nate Morton was the onsite supervisor and the job was completed in 2 days. They did what they said, arrived on time, communicated well and did an excellent job. Highly recommended.

I am a participant in the My Safe Florida Home that requires many rules and details. The first is you have to compare three contractors and submit one to the program for approval. Fidus was the clear front runner through the process because even though they were busy they took their time with my project. From Ryan Dickey, my salesman who knew exactly what I needed and was very patient and the office staff that helped me with the details. The crew was kind and did a great job, even the clean up ! The project supervisor Nate Morton was awesome and answered all my questions and made sure the roof was done right. I have no doubt if I need them in the future they will be there for me. With the Fidus team you can not go wrong. Poor quality leaking roof. I hired Fidus to repair my roof. It had a leak. After they replaced the entire roof, it still leaked in the same place. The owner James Suplee is dishonest. He never once was on the job or he would’ve seen that the Code officials made his employees rip off part of my roof. They were putting four nails instead of six nails, which is required by law. They also were covering holes. The project mgr lifted up the felt paper and saw that I was telling the truth. Don’t believe me when I warn you not to use Fidus. Go to the St. John’s County docket and click on Fidus roofing and Construction or Fidus group & there you will see all of the lawsuits that he has filed against his customers and started foreclosure proceedings. I am a private investigator and I have called up his other customers and they have told me horror stories of theft, destruction, unfinished work, and other disastrous outcomes. James Supplee refuses to fix anything. He says if you don’t pay me in full now & accept the work, I will foreclose on your home, and most people that aren’t familiar with strong mechanics lien law fail to take the proper steps to protect themselves and they wind up in court. There his attorney Chris Harris will immediately tack on legal fees; that’s what happened to me. He refused to settle and he threatened to foreclose on my house. James Suplee came to trial and committed perjury. He testified that the final waiver and release of Lien that I was given was conditional. I told the judge it was unconditional and the language is unconditional, but the judge sided with the owner and his attorney.

If you look at the St. John’s docket, you will see at least 100 filed Waiver & Release of lien. They are the exact same form that I was given which proves I am telling the truth. I will post a video and photo later. James own multiple properties and is a millionaire and the lawsuit was for $9175 but his attorney ran the Attorney fees up to $325,000 and now they are threatening to take both of my homes. I am just warning you not to hire Fidus because you will be so sorry. He also lies about the end date of the contract. The statute of limitations says he has to file the claim of lien in 90 days. But if he comes back to your house to pick up a few nails, he lies and tells the court that he still working on the roof. My roof was completed Feb 21. Even if his employee Christopher Rauseo picked up any nails Apr 7 which he didn’t, what good is it 45 days later? by that time I had picked up all the nails there was no nails to pick up, but he just lies to the judge and the judge believes him because he has an attorney. If you get stuck in a lawsuit with him make sure you get an attorney and check all the documents that he has given you because you will see fraud & you may be able to catch him in a lie.

I tried to pay the $65,085.53 judgment in full and guess what? He refused to take the money and he refused To Foreclose. He’s earning $300 a month interest from me and he’s just waiting until I die because I’m a senior citizen and I know I don’t have many years left and he’s going to keep me in litigation and keep the case open, take my houses and all my money. Check the St. John’s County docket, and also the official records and see how many liens he has against people. He will file a lawsuit against you in a heartbeat and his attorney will jack up the legal fees and keep the case going so he can earn more and more legal fees.

Fidus roofing completed reroofing my house last week. From the initial contact with the salesman Peyton Hughes and project manage Nate Morton through the completion of the project, they have been very professional and attentive to my needs and concerns. Project coordinator Bonnie Schilling provided details of the project schedule. Nate's hard working crew did an exceptional job with the re-roofing. The cleanup of the job site was excellent. I would recommend Fidus to anyone looking for a new roof or roof repair.

We wanted to have our roof replaced and ended up going with Fidus. They were extremely professional and the office help did a great job of explaining what we could expect. Nate was our manager and he handled any special requests we had and kept us abreast of how the project was going. Peyton came to our house before the project and explained the entire process and options available for our needs. I would highly recommend Fidus.

I rarely give goggle reviews but this has to be said. Only gave them a 1 star because the option wasn’t there for a zero. Had pavers installed by Fidus 3 yrs ago.Had to come out twice to rework. Now we have depressions, cracks, etc Fidus now wants $3400 to repair their poor workmanship. So they don’t stand by their install and they won’t respond to us! Horrible, horrible, horrible!!!

You’re asking me to call you? I’ve sent two emails without a response. Why don’t you call me??? Poor operation, buyer beware!

Well folks Fidus still hasn’t responded a week later. I’m sure they’ll be glad to know this is my last post. Found an independent paver that did a wonderful repair job for $1000. I’ll never use Fidus again. Poor company, poor workmanship!

I have used them for maintenance for a few years and was planning on using them for replacement when needed as many of my neighbors did and they seemed to do a good job. Pricing had always been a little more than others but willing to pay more for someone I had a relationship with.

However, they have now raised prices and their maintenance minimum for small jobs is getting absurd. Missing 3 cap shingles from a storm? with the minimum it is $200 per cap shingle to replace... we are bordering on absurd pricing. Changing companies as it doesn't make sense anymore. Especially in this area, I want a company that I can pay to both maintain and eventually replace roofs.

I selected this company based on good reviews. Sadly, either many of the reviews are exaggerated or the quality of this business has deteriorated significantly. Less than two years after replacing the roof and gutters/gutter covers, the roof is sagging; gutters are sagging as well, with gutter covers not functioning properly and accumulating debris much faster than industry standards. There is a major leak caused by Fidus employees cutting too much board and cracking the edge. Fidus is demanding $350 for the water test that was done to diagnose an issue created by them. They are threatening to pull warranty on my roof because of this. I am extremely disapointed. Be careful if you decide to do business with this company.

They were quick but thorough. The cleanup afterwards was above expectations!

I recently had an excellent experience with Fidus Roofing, and I can't recommend them enough! My grandparents (in the 90s) were approached by a strange person who inspected their roof and claimed that it had wind damage, suggesting that their insurance would cover the replacement. Naturally, this left them feeling uneasy.

Late one afternoon I experienced what most homeowners dread, a small wet spot on the ceiling and a little water on the floor. I called Fidus Roofing right away and the next morning Peyton H. came out. He quickly identified an area where the roof meets a wall that was probably the issue and within a few hours I had a very reasonable quote in hand. Early the next morning Marcellus B. and Colby E. were on the roof and began the repairs. It took no time for them to discover multiple mistakes made by the original roofing company that had led to leak. I was impressed with how quickly they would identify an issue and create their plan to address it. It was obvious these two men are experienced in what they do and what’s more, make sure the work is done correctly. They worked as a team with one working one area while the other would work another area so there is no time wasted. When a couple of brief rain showers came through, they would quickly cover everything to prevent any more water damage, and then once the rain stopped, they continued their work. By the end of the day (just 36 hours after my original call) my roof was repaired and I'm sure I will not have any trouble in this area again. If I have any more issues with my roof in the future, there is no doubt that my first call will be to Fidus Roofing.

construction manager kept me informed of all that was being done and what needed to be done which would add to the cost. Not only did he keep me informed he also showed me pictures of the problem and pointed out where on the roof. I am still waiting for him to introduce me to someone to repair my stucco that his men had to remove to fix my roof problem..

Fidus Roofing, Construction & Pavers is the best! We contracted Fidus Roofing to put our new roof on our house and they did an outstanding job from start to finish. The customer service is also outstanding. Everything is so well organized. The first day they started around 7:30 AM and worked until 8:30 PM. They came back the next day to finish the roof and perform the cleanup of the entire surroundings. Fidus just completed our re-roof project and we couldn't be happier with the outcome. We were looking for a specific product from a local quality roofing company and found it in Fidus. From beginning to end the Fidus crew took care of us, answering any questions or concerns in a timely manner and treated us like family. This week a local company out of St Augustine Florida, Fidus Roofing, just completed our roof replacement. The product we chose to go with was a stone-coated metal roofing product by Unified Steel/Westlake in the Pine-crest Shake style and Timberwood color. Ryan Dickey was our initial contact with the company, who provided us product information and the price quotes. Fidus Roofing was competitive and knowlegable compaired to the out of town roofing contractors. Fidus Roofing offered to bring our 5,100 SF roof decking up to Code and to provide a wind mitigation report after completion of the project. We were glad to go with a local company and there was no high pressure sales tactics with Ryan to sign a Contract. Ryan was very professional and he provided multiple quotes for different products. We chose to go with the stone-coated Timberwood shake metal roofing product to avoid having to replace shingles in another 15 to 18 years and because it carries a 50 year transferable warranty. This metal roofing system is complex, looks great, and looks better than any shingle out there. Nate Morton, our Project Manager, has a wealth of roofing experience/knowledge managed the field operations. Nate was very easy to work with and kept us up to date on the daily activities. The field workers were courteous, professional, and hard workers. In the office, Bonnie took care of our HOA approval and the permitting through SJC. Bonnie also kept us informed on material deliveries and the construction start date. The entire process was easy with Fidus Roofing Company. We have no doubts that we would use Fidus Roofing again. Thanks Fidus for an awesome looking roof.

Very Professional Company and employees. Ryan Dickey (Sales) worked with us to choose the best underlayment and cap shingles. He even arranged for a slight reduction in price (when informed others were less expensive).While not the least expensive, I believe they are worth the extra cost. They showed up on the agreed upon time and the crew worked very quickly and efficiently to complete the re-roof, all in one day. The Project manager (Nate Morton) even obtained Slate colored paint and painted the three 4 foot open roof vents to match the slate grey shingles we chose. He said they would look much better than the stark white color they come in. He was right (looks great). They came back the next day, examined the work, walked the perimeter checking cleanup and for missed nails. The crew left our gutters spotless and Nate even went up and washed my two skylights. Great Job!

FIDUS DID A FABULOUS JOB REPLACING THE ROOF ON MY CONDO BUILDING. NATE MORTON AND KYLE TUMBARELLO WERE ON SITE FROM START TO FINISH. THEY SUPERVISED THE WORKERS CLOSELY AND ANSWERED ALL THE QUESTIONS THAT THE RESIDENTS HAD DURING THE PROCESS. THEY POSTED THE APPROPRIATE BUILDING PERMIT INFORMATION. This is our first home and we needed to add gutters. Clay Hancock walked us through the process in an efficient, professional manner. From quote to installation the gutters were put up in 2 weeks and could have been done faster if we weren’t busy the previous weekend. The price was less than I expected too. That’s always nice! I would refer Clay and the crew over at FIDUS to anyone.

I was put in a not so great situation from my insurance provider regarding my roof. After making a decision to use Fidus Roofing for a complete reroof, the whole Fidus team understood my situation and strived to help me in every way possible. The entire process from quotes through completion provided me a certain level of comfort that quite possibly may be unmatched.

Clay Hancock - did a great job with providing quotes, estimating material, following up on tasks and seeing the project through the end.

Bonnie Shilling - on project coordination did an amazing job with the project schedule and expediting all of the paperwork for the project and what I needed for insurance.

Nate Morton - made sure the installers had everything they needed to ensure the project schedule was maintained. All questions i presented were answered professionally. Nate took additional measures to ensure my home was protected from damage upon tear-off as well as pickup/delivery of the roll off.

Field Crew - They were extremely efficient, courteous, and most importantly safe. The crew operated in unison as a very well oiled machine! Hats off to them for making it all happen.

For others inquiring as to what to do for the field crew, I was told that they very much appreciated the fruit, donuts, coffee, water, & Gatorade that was put out in the morning. Not a stitch was left a the end of the day.

Fidus replaced our roof and installed 2 skylights and 1 sun tunnel. I was very impressed with their professionalism and attention to detail.
Ryan Poticny did a great job evaluating our requirements and identifying the options for materials and associated costs. He provided clear estimates and was quick to respond to questions along the way.
Kyle Tumbarello was the onsite project manager. He communicated with us throughout the job, and addressed a minor issue with 2 broken sprinkler heads the next day.
I would highly recommend fidus to anyone needing a new roof in the Jacksonville/st Augustine area.

Great experience. They reroofed the entire building of of townhome in only 2 1/2 days. They came in and stripped off the old roof down to the decking. Replaced several sheets of decking and got the new roofing on in an amazingly short time. Nate had a full crew out here and was very communicative with all of the homeowners. We knew when they were going to start and when they would be finished before the job ever started. They cleaned up the site each night and did a complete and thorough cleaning after the job was completed. Very Impressed with this group of professionals.

I rarely do reviews on work performed for me, as I expect to receive what I contacted a business to perform. However, the people at Fidus roofing, specifically Ryan Poticny who talked to me originally for the estimate and Kyle Tumbarello, the site supervisor were professional, neat in appearance, polite, and did every thing to answer ever question and concern I had without making me feel like I was wasting their time. They responded quickly and on time. All the men and lady who came to my home and worked directly on the roof were hard workers, and very polite themselves. Each one did what I asked of them when requested within their means. They cleaned up and left my yard and driveway as clean as when they came. I would recommend them 100%. Thank you Fidus.

Replaced our roof to lower our insurance costs- we had no problems with the old roof- no leaks. Six months after Fidus replaced our roof we had a leak with ceiling discoloration. We contacted the company and after a 5 minute review Fidus said the leak was due to the exterior wall and said they had no responsibility. Will have an independent review but never had a problem before Fidus replaced the roof.

Having one’s home re-shingled is an inconvenient, messy and expensive job. Fidus completed roofing my home earlier this week in less than two days and I could not be more pleased. From my initial call to request an estimate to completion took exactly two weeks.

I hired Fidus to install a small section of gutter on my home because of the stellar reviews you are reading now.
They were very prompt to set the initial site visit. The dollar amount quoted was higher than what I was expecting but what isn’t these days.
I was told in advance that they were extremely busy so the earliest they could schedule me was a couple weeks out, which was fine. It ended up being four weeks, which again was fine, this wasn’t a rush job. After I signed the contract communication became spotty at best. I had to reach out for all communications and information.
Their subcontractor did come to preform the work. They did a great job and were impressively fast. The work looks good and they were even able to solve a problem with the install quickly while still onsite. I was in store for a shock however when the subcontractor hands me an invoice with a price almost 50% less than what I was being charged. I understand everyone needs to make a profit but this amount seems excessive in my opinion. I’ll definitely keep this in mind when I’m in the market for a new roof and paver install in a couple years.

Nate Morton and Craig Chaney are professional, responsive and extremely attentive to the needs of the job and customer service. Fidus is a company I continue to refer to my family, friends and clients as they go above and beyond everytime with their quality of work and their customer service. As HOA President of my community it was a big job for Nate Morton to take on to satisfy a significant amount of homeowners and if I could give 10 stars I would. Fidus performed flawlessly in removing an unused chimney and repairing the roof of our home. The installer was prompt, courteous and friendly. He worked nearly nine hours non-stop except for a short lunch break. All debris was removed and the job completed neatly. If you have roofing needs, I highly recommend Fidus.

Ryan Poticny was extremely helpful with decisions to be made regarding a re-roofing. He was thorough and prompt with estimates. He went above and beyond to bring roof tiles for us to decide on. He was always on time and responded quickly to questions we had regarding our project.
Kyle Tumbarello was also very helpful and easy to work with. He was on time and a constant presence during the job. He was available, willing to answer any questions and kept us updated during the project. He returned after the project was over and reviewed the completed work, answering, any questions or further concerns we had.

Fidus roofing is a great company to work with. Ryan P. did a great job on the sales side (lots of follow up) and gave us a fair price. During the installation Nate was there and patiently answered my many questions. Although we had a major down pour halfway through the project they made sure the roof was covered with a tarp. Honestly, Fidus was close to the house and I just plain took a chance. My experience with roofers has never been favorable- it was like dealing with drunken pirates. HOWEVER, from the minute I talked to their receptionist, scheduled a consult (and ultimately a work order), and talked with Chris, I felt like I was in good hands with Fidus. On the appointed day (a HOT one!), Marcellus showed up and went straight to work. A little while later, Chris showed up and assisted in the repair of a badly leaking skylight. The quote included a separate price IF the skylight was not reusable and that was SO much better than getting blindsided by an upcharge. I did general contracting for 40 years and I insisted on getting up on the roof and Chris explained exactly how the repair would go and I was impressed by his knowledge and professionalism. Chris and Marcellus completed the repair, cleaned up, and removed the scrap instead of shoving it in my trash can like the last bunch of hacks. In today's world, you live and die by your customer service and quality of work and for me, Fidus Roofing has exceeded on both points.

Recently had Fidus complete a paver project at my house and the results are fantastic. The whole process with them from start to finish was outstanding. On time / on budget / extremely professional and they took the extra time and effort daily to make sure the site was cleaned up and prepped for the following day’s work. I will have them back for my roof replacement as well as another paver project when the driveway needs to be done. All around great group to work with.
