AVOID TAYLOR METALS AT ALL COSTS – UNPROFESSIONAL, UNRESPONSIVE, AND INCOMPETENT
I am writing this review out of deep frustration after enduring over three months of failed attempts to conduct what should have been a straightforward business transaction with Taylor Metals. My efforts were not on behalf of a new or prospective customer, but rather on behalf of an existing client of Taylor Metals—one who was seeking a large order of samples to present to their clients for use in future construction projects. These samples were essential to securing continued and significant business with Taylor Metals. You would assume such an opportunity would warrant even basic attention and professionalism. Unfortunately, you would be wrong.
Despite the fact that I clearly communicated the nature and scale of the order—and offered to pay for the samples—my requests were systematically ignored. I placed this order not once, not twice, but four separate times, across multiple communication channels, and still received nothing. This was not a request for complimentary items or a favor. This was a formal order on behalf of a paying customer, representing future revenue, and it was handled with total negligence.
Over the course of these three exhausting months, I called over 15 times, left at least four detailed voicemail messages, and submitted their online order/request forms multiple times. Not once—not a single time—did anyone from Taylor Metals initiate a return call, email, or follow-up of any kind.
The level of dysfunction spans both their Salem, Oregon, Auburn Washington, Riverside California, Spokane Washington and Sacramento, California locations. I spoke directly with multiple employees, including Manager Chris C., who initially took the order and then vanished from any further communication. I also left messages with Manager Rachelle, submitted orders to Adam on three separate occasions, and reached out via their website—all without so much as an acknowledgment. Every one of these attempts was met with silence or empty promises. There was no accountability, no follow-through, and no sense of urgency or respect for client relationships.
In my experience, not a single employee I interacted with demonstrated even the most basic qualities of professionalism—no courtesy, no reliability, and absolutely no integrity. I have rarely encountered a company this fundamentally incapable of fulfilling its most essential responsibilities.
In short: Taylor Metals is completely untrustworthy. Their internal communication appears nonexistent, their customer service is abysmal, and their ability to fulfill even simple requests is shockingly poor. If you're considering doing business with them, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. There are plenty of metal suppliers out there who value their clients, communicate effectively, and actually deliver what they promise.
Avoid Taylor Metals if you value your time, your business, and your sanity.
Having worked with Taylor Metal on multiple projects, I can say they are great to work with. Their panels are high quality as is their communication. If you want a beautiful, long-lasting product with great customer service, this is the place to go!
Two years ago, while building our house, we ordered a fair sized metal roof, standing seam.
The process was handled by a 3rd party sales vendor (pacific supply in Santa Rosa California)
We gave the roofing specs / plans to Taylor Metals (Sacramento office) who did a take off and produced our order.
We paid for that order up front, in good faith.
Then when it was eventually delivered, we noticed that a bunch of the panels were NOT CORRECTLY cut to length (too short by several feet), per the plans that they had already reviewed to create the order. What ??
WOW.
OK. Somebody be accountable……!!!
But NO.
Instead, after contacting pacific supply directly, they PUNTED us without concern to Taylor Metals.
I contacted the head guy at Taylor, and got ZERO response whatsoever.
That whole debacle cost us an extra ~ $4k.
Take from this what you will,
but it’s ALL LEGIT.
