Levi and his team brough a designer's eye, an engineer's mind and a craftsman's hand to bear on our extensive remodel. It likely would have been easier had we knocked the original 1955 structure down entirely, as Levi encountered numerous unexpected challenges with the remodel, but the result essentially gave us a new home with all the character and style of a mid-century modern original. Levi was even able to add a butterfly roof, substantially increasing the ceiling height and allowing for huge expanses of glass to accentuate even more the views of the city and the mountains from the front, at the same time also fully realizing our vision of bringing into the home the greenery out back - including a huge old sycamore. We could not be more satisfied with the entire process, as Levi was always open to our questions and ideas, worked tirelessly to keep the project on schedule and on budget, and created the forever home of our dreams.

Levi will research solutions for tricky projects, getting engineer-creative, and clearly explain to you the situation, options with pros/cons, and additional trade-offs to consider. He doesn’t dumb it down for you; he educates you clearly about the technical issues getting resolved so you are a wiser homeowner.

We asked Talisman in late summer 2021 to take down our ~ 1500sf second-story outdoor deck (which, we learned after one winter, did not have snowmelt) and installed a radiant floor snowmelt system within the existing structural constraints of our newly constructed home. It was challenging to achieve the 1/8” per foot minimum slope required for sound drainage while also achieving the concrete depth necessary for radiant floor heating to function without risking cracked concrete. Talisman was thoughtfully evaluative of how to achieve this engineering challenge and did so with clear explanations including the technical specifics that gave me confidence that this solution would work and that impressed me with how Mr. Darger thinks about secondary and tertiary effects of choices. He offered clear choices with cost and benefit trade-offs that led us to thoughtfully make an insulation choice between spray foam and fiberglass wool.

Mr. Darger handled the permit process, sub-contractor specialists, and work flow expertly. His communication to me was clear, specific, and geared to keeping the project on track. He is a pleasure to work with and a great human being. I would hire Levi Darger again in a heartbeat.

r renovation and repair of 3 large decks. And i was glad I chose Talisman. The work they did was excellent. For various reasons the project had some serious tecnical issues which needed to be addressed. Talisman was wa able to solve all such issues with quality solutions. All of there work was done efficiently and was care. The workmanship was of the highest quality .
And, their price was more than reasonable. I could not have been moe satisfied with their performance..

We had a small job of just replacing five rotted rails on our deck.
Talisman provided a quote that we found to be acceptable and the work was promptly scheduled. The replacement was completed in two days and the work performed was well done and the site was left in a tidy, clean condition.

I'm so happy that I finally get to give a contractor a glowing 5 star review. We've all had our experiences with bad contractors.
Avoid those and hire Levi and Talisman. They always made things right, even when they had to step up to cover costs when subs abandoned their commitments. This is how GCs should act, but never do. I highly recommend Talisman. They completed a complicated deck rebuild after shorty construction from the original builder. They are great communicators and stand behind their promises.

My wife and I worked with Levi, Michael and the rest of the team at Talisman on an addition to our 120 year old home in SLC. As with any older home, our project provided a lot of 'fun' surprises (mysterious buried pipes, questionable craftsmanship from prior owners, etc) that made for a challenging project.

Throughout the entire process, the team at Talisman went out of their way to clearly communicate the status of the project, how they planned to deal with challenges as they arose and, most importantly, to make sure we arrived at a final product that we were all thrilled with. Having renovated several homes in my life, I understand that renovation always involves surprises & change orders.
