My project is still not complete, some big mistakes were made in cuts for the siding, corners are poorly aligned. Large scratches in the paint on the siding in numerous places. Now it has been sitting for almost 2 weeks with no work being done. So much for this project being done in 4 weeks, very disappointing. Quality of the work is absolutely horrible. Follow through is even worse.

When looking for a quality shop, we looked at several organizations work, and finished product. One of the largest things that stood out to us was the workmanship, and also the perma column's that they have. Looking at the permanent columns and not having wood touch the ground or have any issues with twisting of the beams that were put into the ground was a huge feature I wanted to invest in.

We wanted our shop to be insulated which compared to several other companies was by far a very in expensive cost to have it done at the time of installation of the shop walls.

The building crew was great and very friendly, they were absolute perfectionist. The crew we had assigned were all seasoned professionals giving us updates on a daily basis in the am of what we would expect to see happen that day. Our kids loved watching this building go up on their last week of summer vacation.

The garage door guy did an amazing job, turned out incredible. The door looks well installed, might have to have them come out to tune my house garage doors at some point.

The concrete crew you guys have was phenomenal they really took a lot of time and effort to ensure that it was done to perfection.

In any construction project there will be change orders, they were very minimal with this project, but anytime you build you need a contingency fund for things if they have to get more gravel or more concrete for the footings.

Chuck, Erica, Jan, Shawn, are all amazing to work with and speak with as well, they kept us well informed of things on the project as well.

We have built several homes along with shops, barns, and outbuildings and honestly this company is by far the worst we have ever had the unfortunate experience of hiring! Open your checkbook and buyer beware, this deceptive company will nickel and dime you to death and lie to you the entire time. Very unprofessional, you have been warned...

I tried to have a shop built in spring of 2017. But by the time they started we were in December and snow was on the ground. They left the roof insulation exposed to the freezing rain on one of the wettest days of the year and capped it with the roofing the next day. I had pockets of soaking wet insulation dripping for months. The owner came out in the spring and swore that there would be no issues down the road since the insulation was made from synthetic material. After the 1st year the wood has signs of rot and i have several leaks. I have tried to contact Shawn and his QC person who came out first. They told me they would put me on the skedule for someone to fix the leaks but that was a year ago. I cannot find any information on how to make a claim on the warranty. I am to the point of considering hiring another contractor to fix the problem and sending steel structurs the bill.

Hands down the smoothest experience we have had with a project from start to finish. Sean was extremely professional and actually kept in great communication unlike some past experiences we had. The design part was easy and we were pretty impressed at the amount of options we had. The building itself went without any hiccups and in a fairly decent time-frame given the time of year was late fall. Shop looks like the best building in our neighborhood now and I have no regrets or complaints. Very impressed with how complete it looks compared to other shops. It's been almost a year and no leaks or issues. I highly recommend Sean Cafferty for any of your pole barn needs, he will not disappoint!

We loved working with Sean at Steel Structures to build us an amazing pole barn shop. Sean is fantastic and went above and beyond from design to completion. We felt confident that our dream shop would be built to the quality and style we wanted. We highly recommend working with Steel Structures and Sean especially!

I reached out to four local companies for a medium sized garage building. Only Steel Structures got back to me. Price was good and the on site construction guy was great about communication and working with me on a few last minute changes.

I needed a tractor shed, open faced 48x24. I wanted something that had a little character. Not a box looking shed. I priced building kits and building supplies...wanted to do it myself.
Discussed with a friend of mine who has a beautiful big shop. He told me to call the same guys who built his shop. "Ya know those guys get a better deal on the materials then you and I could. They are a heckuva lot better at squaring everything up then you are." He said.
I called Sean told him what I was thinking. He came down. We visited. Went up to his office, hashed out the details, made a deal. Easy peasy. He sent a crew down, great guys. They did a better job, watched out for my stuff, especially my dogs better than I do!
Very happy with my shed. The cost was less than I expected too! Only problem I have with the process was I called Sean about 10 years later than I should have!

I've been kicking around adding a custom shop that doubles as a boat barn and entertainment center away from the main house. Sean has embraced my vision, drafted and priced several designs that have captured that and added key functionality i missed based on his experience. While I appreciate SSA quality, I really commend Sean for his timeliness and professionalism through this design prices. As soon as I get the boss' permission we're doing this!

Had a great experience with Craig O’Neal. He’s really great at showing how the structure will look, I was impressed with how quickly he can make modifications to the structure on his laptop so we have an excellent idea of what the final product will look like. Craig is knowledgeable and straightforward about the costs and the timeline. Total Pro!

Had SSA build a 30 x 30 garage in 2019. Project was finished around mid July, but had to have them come out several times after completion to correct mistakes,( wrong side door installed, took 2 months to complete when it was supposed to be done in 3 weeks).
Very disappointed overall. Contractor Stated he had never built a garage before, and brought his girlfriend to help do the job. The company sent out one person to do the job after the second contractor quit, so she was the only person he could find to help.
Now- less than a year later, there are numerous leaks in the roof, The side door leaks and we have to try and get them to respond appropriately before we take legal action.
Very expensive mistake. Do not use!!

Very mean, lazy and inconsiderate people. They didnt start our project when they stated they would, had to hire extra help due to it being snowy and lied about the back charges it would cost us. We reached out to the owner Sean and he was very condescending and rude. For us reaching out he took it apon himself to get a lein against us saying we refuse to pay when that's NOT the case. We talked to him about the back charges, came up with a agreement, he said he would send a email confirming and never did. I recommend going somewhere else where your treated like a decent human being. 1 star is being generous.

S L O W. Paid and signed contract in May. Still no door or concrete and they are telling us it will be finished in November. This is a standard 30x40 so it is not rocket science. They do not seem to care and make no attempt to get things done as promised (July) no effort to expedite deliveries of materials. Snow is coming and the trash piles they have left will be buried soon. Always seems to be someone else’s issue for delay. Take ownership of the issues.... your Project Management skills are lax. Finish my shop please.

We are very pleased with the entire process and we now have a beautiful pole barn on our property. The construction began with the measuring and drilling of the holes for the posts. Once the weather warmed up and dried out we poured concrete and set each post. The structure took shape soon after. It took the crew about 10 days to construct the structure and they did a fantastic job and really paid attention to detail. Soon after that, the concrete preparation crew did their work followed by concrete the next day. As of this writing we are eagerly awaiting the installation of the garage doors. Bottom line is we feel this is a great product and so glad we went with Steel Structures!

Tried talking to both gentleman at their booth at the fair, they were very rude and did'nt want to give me the time or day. They then asked for my phone number which at that point I was done trying to talk to the gentlemen so my wife gave my info. I was then called and I decided to give them a second chance so we set up a meeting at my house we chatted for a while and listen to him praise about how much better he is and everybody else and at the end of our conversation he stated that I was very rude at the fair when we were talking. And this is why I wont do business nor recommend a business who is rude and unprofessional.

Service questions
1. Should I stay home during roof replacement?

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
