I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Austin at Greater Seattle Construction. After a major flood in my small downtown Seattle condo, I was left trying to navigate the incredibly confusing world of HOA insurance claims. Most contractors wouldn’t even consider coming out for a job of this size—let alone one located right in the heart of the city. But Austin not only responded—he showed up in person within three days.

He reviewed all of my previous estimates and documentation and gave me the most valuable information I received during this entire ordeal. He helped me understand how supplemental claims work, and the bigger picture of how the HOA insurance process functions—something that’s rarely, if ever, explained to homeowners. It’s especially tough when you're not the policyholder and can’t speak directly with the insurance adjuster.

Even though Greater Seattle Construction couldn’t take on the project due to timing and factors outside his control, Austin still took the time to meet with me, guide me, and share his deep knowledge. He was professional, generous, and incredibly informed. He didn’t owe me a thing—but still went above and beyond to help.

If you’re a homeowner dealing with an insurance claim—especially one involving an HOA—I highly recommend contacting Greater Seattle Construction. I would work with Austin again in a heartbeat. Thank you so much, Austin! - Elizabeth

I went with Greater Seattle Construction after my condo got water damage from the unit above mine. Austin was very communicative about the process, Jonathan's team was great and got things put back on schedule. It's so good to finally be back home!

Similar to other reviews, we had a devastating loss occur when a pipe burst in our attic January of 2023 and we had to do a complete restoration of our home. It was such a heartbreaking and stressful time and the amount of support and guidance we received from Corey and the GSC team was unbelievable. They immediately understood the singularity and gravity of this type of experience and how confusing navigating insurance field adjusters, water mitigation crews, logistics tied to accurate timelines, change orders with how we wanted our house to look, etc. Additionally, they were very understanding of our situation, including my wife being pregnant throughout the year of the work being done and completed the project early so we were well in our home before the baby came. The house is incredible now and there isn't a day that goes by that I'm not grateful for the work that GSC did for us.

GSC helped me with a total rebuild of an 8-unit apartment building after a fire. Corey, Matt, and Tony were all a pleasure to work with. They guided me through the insurance process and made an otherwise very stressful time manageable. Professional, responsive, and stuck to schedule! Would recommend to anyone looking for help with a project big or small.

We had a fire that almost completely destroyed our home in 2020. After evaluating three reconstruction contractors, we decided to go with GSC since we felt that Corey and his team had a greater attention to detail than some of the other contractors. Our follow ups with GSC references were also positive in the sense that the references talked about both what went well and not so well, as is common with any such large scale construction project. From a personal point of view, I tend to be generally distrustful of uniformly positive references and so it was refreshing to hear from references who gave me an honest opinion. When the estimate was written, the insurance adjuster said that the estimate was very well written. This gave us further confidence that we had made the correct choice.

That said, we were in the height of Covid with resulting negative impacts on the supply chain. Matt and Corey were able to manage the supply chain well and get all the materials lined up for the project to proceed smoothly. In any such project, it is also important for the homeowner to be on top of the contractor and subs to make sure that the work is being done correctly. The quality of GSC employees was very good. Specifically, working with Tony was a pleasure and he is a very skilled craftsman. You would be fortunate to have him work on your home. The subs were good and the finish quality of the home was excellent. Work was done on time, which is always a refreshing change from horror stories that I have heard with other contractors.

A few problems arose after the home was completed due to some not so good work by a sub who is no longer employed by GSC. GSC worked with us to correct them in a timely manner. This shows that they have a commitment to quality that lasts beyond the final payment. Consequently, I would recommend them without hesitation.

GSC performed 2 major water damamge repairs on my house. They did exceptional work and made the repairs look better than they were before the damage. Any questions were quickly answered and corrections needed were made. They worked hand in hand with my Insurance Adjuster to resolve any discrepancies as well. The Project manager (Tony) was onsite daily and provided continual updates to repair schedule and went above and beyond the repairs to ensure a complete and satisfied customer.

I would highly recommend GSC for any upgrades or repairs to your home or business. They will be my go to company for any future requirements.

Following a devastating half a million dollar loss to my mom’s house due to an accidental fire my sisters and I were left with the daunting task of having the house rebuilt. We really didn’t know where to turn. After extensive meetings with four restoration companies we were fortunate to choose Greater Seattle construction to complete our project. They have been the very best company to work with and we are thrilled that we made the right choice. They have guided us through each step of the process and the end results of the project are perfect. They supported us in our decision making and the quality of their work is absolutely superb. Each n every e-mail for the entire year long project was answered promptly. The house is now rented and we have not had one complaint from the renter after such a Huge restoration. They helped us work with the Insurance company to make sure that our costs were properly reimbursed. On a scale of 1-10 we would give them a 10+!! We absolutely loved working with Corey, Matt, Tony and the entire crew. We are so Thankful that we made the right choice. Thank You Greater Seattle Construction!!

I can't say enough great things about Greater Seattle Construction. They made a very horrible situation seem completely manageable, and the end results are just fantastic. We had renters in my grandmother's house, and a faulty generator caused a fire in the garage, but the smoke damage infiltrated the entire house. This was a home built by my Grandpa and Great Grandpa in the late 1940's, so you can imagine the sentimental value. The entire team at GSC handled our house as if it was their own from the initial meeting to the final walk through. The communication was excellent and they were extremely accommodating and conscientious of our budget. The most impressive part was it didn't matter who we were dealing with - Subcontractors, Employees, Project Managers or the Owner - They all knew the details of the project and they took so much pride in their work. We truly couldn't be happier!

I had uninsured losses in my condominium due to storm water infiltration. ServPro was essential in the cleanup. And, Greater Seattle Construction completed the rebuild for me in a timely and cost effective way. They did a great job and were very responsive to my questions and concerns. I would use them again, for sure.

A couple years ago we had suffered a house fire that heavily damaged our home. We found that nearly everything had to be replaced right down to the frame of the house. We were devastated. When we started the overwhelming process of trying to work with contractors the first suggested company by our insurance evaluated our damage and said it could not be rebuilt with our policy limits. We had no ability to get a loan to cover the gap and were terrified of what this could mean for us. That's when we found Greater Seattle Construction LLC and Corey Boyd.

Corey and the people at Greater Seattle Construction evaluated our damage and said they could find a way to work within the limits. They then helped us space out the decision making process to not be so overwhelming and worked with us every step of the way to rebuild our home. Corey would often help us with the research for available choices, which was a big comfort when we had difficulty. Working with their team and scheduling was very easy and they were extremely organized.

When our insurance was running out of funds for us to stay in our rental property they even managed to complete the job a bit faster than expected to help us avoid a costly move. Now our house is back and it looks better than ever, we were even able to get a few improvements such as a granite island in our kitchen. Without Corey Boyd and the folks at Greater Seattle Construction my wife and I would have had to incur serious debt to get our home back but thanks to them we're sitting comfortably in our new house.

A big thank you to Greater Seattle Construction and a glowing recommendation from this satisfied family!

After having a massive flood in our salon, we were very pleased to have a referral to Greater Seattle Construction. They were quick to assess the damage, work with our insurance agent, and come up with a construction plan. Our situation was challenging as we had insulation issues, bamboo flooring, and had to keep our business open during the construction. The construction team was fast, super efficient, and with very little disruption to our team. Even when the flooring took longer to come and had to acclimate, the team worked around it so we could finish on time. A big shout out to Matt (the site supervisor) and Corey for all their help in a very stressful time.

Greater Seattle Construction did a great job rebuilding my studio after a tree fell through it. They coordinated with the insurance company, they worked with the tree people, they arranged for the removal and return of my stuff and they did a great job on the building. Jared was friendly, efficient and communicative. Taras and Vlad were amazingly hard workers who could handle all aspects of the construction. I am more than pleased with the results.

This company has done nothing but take their time to start putting our house together. Once we told them to start after waiting for 2 months, they said they didn’t want to do the job! Now we have to start all over! I hope your family never has to go through something like this.

I am very pleased with the roofing job completed by Greater Seattle Construction. The March 2016 wind storms damaged the roof on our home and shop. The supervisors in charge of our job Derek and Don had excellent communication skills, walked us through the whole process, and then completed the job in a timely manner. I highly recommend the services provided by Greater Seattle Construction. Thanks for a job well done!!!

I could not have had a better experience in doing a major remodel. From the initial sit down bid proposal with the owner and staff, to picking out kitchen cabinets and flooring/carpeting with the owner Jim Tripple. I have never been more impressed with the day to day interaction with contractor/customer relations than I am with GSC Construction. Constant phone calls letting me know the status of the remodel, picking items out for the various rooms, and giving me their expert opinion on what they think would work best in my situation. We came in under budget and didn't cut any corners. When there was a change in the remodel on my end, Jim was personally there with a change order that week with the budget to let me know where we stand. GSC took me to prior jobs to look at what they had done, to pick out paint color, and took me to showroom floors, instead of just saying go here or go there and pick out what you like. You may have fears of doing a remodel and dealing with contractors, like dealing with a used car salesman, but this company couldn't be more up to date with style and professionalism than I could ever hope for. The project came in on time as promised, and now the total remodel of the house, is now a place of absolute perfection. Thank you Greater Seattle Construction!!!

I am not a person who likes to talk poorly of others or small companies but I don't want others to go through what I have gone through. Lori is right on the button, Corey is a great dude but they subcontract out a lot and you never know who is showing up or when they are.

I had a house fire and met with several contractors on Allstate's approval list. Greater Seattle seamed down to earth, knowledgeable and responsible so I picked them. However a house restoration project that was suppose to take 4 months (agreed by Greater Seattle and Allstate) turned into 7 months and counting. Greater Seattle was fired from the project (uncompleted) for simply not showing up to work. They did not follow through on their work timeline or notify me at all of their plans to adjust the timeline. I eventually called an inspector to look at their work and I'm glad I did because they had covered up the walls without inspections or pulled permits for plumbing.

Stan is awesome and Greater Seattle's crew are good people but the bottom line is that they have too many projects going on and the people running the company don't care about the customer. Very unprofessional and hard to communicate with.

After hiring Corey Boyd and his crew to work on a small job in my new house it was nothing but bad. They subcontract out the jobs - so you never know who is in your house "unsupervised" - it resulted in theft and poor workmanship. I filed a complaint with the BBB. I would not recommend them to anyone. Sad too - because I really liked Corey - he was very personable, just not very responsible with his subcontractors.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
