This company i thought was very professional but they are very careless and do not watch out for traveling vehicles and decided to drop a tree as a car was going by and dropped it on the car luckily no one was hurt but some damages was done and no liability and also say they are foung to call the boss and settle it and havent done nothing and my opinion they probably wont!! I would not recomend these guys!!

We moved to Staunton 3 months ago. I needed to have a large tree removed as it had been jeopardized by a split at the base of the tree. We were concerned it might fall during high winds and damage our residence. I was referred to Staunton Tree service. I called the office and within an hour I was given a more than fair price to have it removed. Within a week we had been scheduled to have it removed. The morning it was taken down, a fleet of trucks towing first class equipment along with hard working experienced tree experts arrived. The tree was taken down and the area was cleaned of any debris. Everyone was polite and determined to make us happy with the experience. When the job was finished the owner of the company stopped by to be certain we were happy with the service we received. We could not be more pleased so I immediately went to my computer to write this review. Thanks Staunton Tree Service for a superior job well done.

Had two white pine trees up root and another one started to up root in the last wind storm. Called 3 tree company's only one responded and came out same day and looked at the situation. Talked about what we wanted done and gave me a quote and told me it would be about 2 weeks until he could do the job. We thought that was pretty quick right after the storm. Had to move scheduled day out 1 day due to the weather. Showed up on schedule, very professional setting up, respectful of property, completed job in a timely manner. Excellent job of cleaning up. Would recommend.

They were a relief during our emergency and came with all we needed quickly. Even helped us with leads on roofing help and got our house secured before rain would have done more damage to our house.

Contracted Staunton Tree Service to trim back four large trees surrounding our pool.
They removed the branches overhanging the pool and shaped up the trees while removing about 25-30% of the branches from each tree to reduce the weight. Chipped and cleaned up entire yard and work area.

A large white oak tree fell on our house when we were out of town causing damage to the house and roof. Staunton Roofing provided an estimate for repairs within 24 hours and completed the repairs within 48 hours. This project was highly technical requiring a substantial amount of crane work to safely lift the top of the tree and remove the balance of the oak from the inaccessible side of the house. Everything was completed in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner. We cannot recommend this company highly enough for any tree service needs.

Troy and the crew were great. I was informed of what the job entailed, and any questions I had were answered professionally, with the added bonus of learning more about my walnut tree. The clean-up afterward left my yard looking better after the limb(s) surgery.

I had three dying ash trees that needed to be removed, and some trees that needed trimming. I had used Staunton Tree Service in the past and been very satisfied, so I contracted with them again. They did an excellent job, from beginning to end. My trees were large and tall so the job required the heavy duty equipment. The team was highly skilled, efficient, and pleasant. The job was well staged, and the crew made sure that at the end of the day, all areas that had been touched/involved in the process, both in my yard and any adjacent property, were cleared and clean. I was very impressed with their work and appreciated their attention to detail. Staunton Tree Service does amazing work and I highly recommend them!

I utilized this tree company to trim a few branches on a very large oak. I was charged approximately $1000. The trimming machine damaged my lawn. I asked for wood chips to be left behind, they did not leave any. They do offer payment plans, which was nice.
Unfortunately based on my experience, I will not be using Staunton tree company in the future.

Staunton Tree removed many dangerous trees from our yard in preparation for new construction. Our Silver maple was also trimmed. The staff did a wonderful job, were professional and friendly, and worked quickly. Their prices were competitive with other local companies, and I liked having a certified Arborist making sure that the health of my trees was top priority.

Have used Staunton Tree for tree removal for many years. The young men arrive with the proper equipment, work efficiently, and are always pleasant and respectful.

The work was scheduled and completed promptly. Crew was friendly and thorough. Equipment was quieter than I expected. Job was followed up with a text to check on my satisfaction. I would use again.

I had them take one tree down and and trim a few others on my property in Staunton. The work started 2 months later than I was initially told it would (reached out in August, schedule for November, actual work in January), they were waiting on a part to repair some equipment.

I was okay with that but then during the actual work they were pretty careless about most things. For example, I asked the leftover wood to be placed on a certain place in my driveway and it wasn't. I asked for a log to be cut to 8 feet but its 12, now its too big for me to move myself. Stuff like that. The most annoying issue was they dropped a big branch on my gutter and banged it up pretty good, then I couldn't get the owner on the phone to chat with me about it. Its a hooded gutter and if I had problems with it in the spring I wanted them to acknowledge that it had happened in case I needed a repair and I couldn't ever get the owner on the phone to talk to me even after multiple calls. It was pretty frustrating. I wouldn't recommend them

5/3/23 UPDATE: I'm updating the review to reflect that Kris was vey responsive to the review, did reach out and did the things he said he would to make me feel more satisfied. It not possible for every job to go perfectly, but he did make it a priority to get back with me to make it right and I appreciate that.

Very professional, competent, and safety oriented. It surprised me how quickly they got three large oaks down and did a great job cleaning up the mess. 10/10 would recommend!

We needed 19 large pine trees removed from our lot. We wanted a company that had both the equipment and the expertise to do a large job like that safely and with minimal damage to the remaining hardwoods. That proved to be the case with Staunton Tree Service. They arrived when they said they would; finished the job in a couple of days; and cleaned up thoroughly when they were finished. Everyone was very professional and pleasant to deal with. We were very happy with the whole experience.

But I've been cleaning up after their neighborhood work all summer. They might try to find someone with a blower, or at least a broom, to clean up after themselves.

As I said, your work with neighbors has left me cleaning up after your crews. And sending wood chips into Waynesboro storm drains isn't the best idea either.

Great service from Kris, his crew and Kathleen in the office. After getting estimates from other companies, found their prices the fairest. Have used them twice and received great work. Only ones I call for tree/stump issues.

We had a massive diseased oak tree removed that was over 200 years old. The tree seemed rather inaccessible in the farthest corner of the back yard. Yet Chris and his crew were able to remove the tree cleanly in two days. I highly recommend their services.

A neighbor’s unhealthy Locust tree had fallen on our property, so I hired Staunton Tree Service to come out and clear the fallen tree, but also remove several similarly unhealthy trees from our property. They gave us an extremely reasonable quote, came out and got the job done very professionally. It was a difficult job requiring a crane and heavy machinery as the trees themselves were huge and I live on a steep hill. I was impressed with their work and hope to hire them for our backyard down the road.

Update: After the owner Kris heard about the scheduling error with their system he immediately called me and arranged to come out and complete a site visit/estimate himself for my requested job. Kris offered to do the original job for free due to the error and 2 times my job agreement getting missed/scheduled.

Kris was very professional and said he would come do the job himself as well, and they fit me in the very next week. While here they were able to take all 3 trees down in a 4hr time and left my yard as clean as they could leaving the logs behind since my wife wanted to keep them. They also left us the shavings to sue for mulch and dumped it were we asked them neatly to not affect my yard. I am going to have them come back to grind the stumps and dig up all the roots that have broken through the surface of my yard to clean it up.

I have some work ahead of me to cut through all the big base trunk logs to move, and then will have Kris and his team come back to complete the second phase of the job.

I am very pleased with Kris's response and quality of work, and appreciate him making this experience right. I would recommend Staunton Tree Service to everyone.

I called for an assessment of tree health, and a quote on trimmings and removals. Kris came out to our property promptly, and called before he arrived so we knew when to expect him. He was honest, personable, and eager to help and educate us about the health of the trees on our property. He was even willing to connect us to others in his network for unrelated yard services we had questions about! Whenever we need tree work done (because we got the happy news that our trees are healthy; that's right, he advised us not to hire him for a needless job!!), we will DEFINITELY be calling STS. The STS crew was super fast and very efficient. They did a fantastic job taking down the massive pine tree in our front yard. They definitely deserve 5 stars or more! Would highly recommend them.

I had a very good experience with this company. They were responsive to phone calls and the crew that worked at our house was very good and knowledgable as well as polite. The crew also helped me with the placement of an antenna as well. Very versatile.

Troy and his team were fantastic! Troy is a great team leader, and took the time for detail. It was important to him to meet my expectations, and care of the tree. Job well DONE! I will use them again.

All are professional, knowledgeable and courteous - Kris, Faith and the on-site crew. The Crew Leader explained what they were going to do and why, did exactly that - climbed high into the tree to trim it properly- clean up was thorough and the results look great. The trees look healthier and hopefully we won't have any wind/ice damage this winter. Would highly recommend Stn Tree Svcs and we will call them again for our tree needs.

I had three tree companies bid on my tree removal and pricing for Staunton Tree Service was about the same as the other two.

Kris was very friendly during the estimate and educated me well on the whole process that would take place to remove trees in our yard: one big oak, an ivy covered locust, and a small maple. Troy, who ran the actual crew for my job, was very friendly as well.

I have used Staunton Tree Service several times over the years and have always found them to be both reasonably priced and very professional. I just this week had them cut down several trees and prune a couple others at my home in Staunton. The current owner Kris came out and did a very comprehensive estimate and gave me some idea of how they would approach my project. He provided a quote within 24hrs. and we set a date for that work to be done. They called a day out to confirm that they were coming on the date I had chosen (my day off work) and arrived on time that next morning. The equipment they use appeared to be modern and up to date and really quite impressive. The workers including Kris by the way worked well together with everyone doing their job in a professional manner. I even noticed they have headsets with microphones mounted on their hardhats for communication between themselves as they work which I'm sure is an added safety measure. The trees were removed, the mess was cleaned up and last but not least I was asked if I'm happy with the work that was done. I was and am very happy! I would highly recommend these folks and will I'm sure use them again going forward.

My experience with Kris was 5 star. Due to the recent weather we had to plan around rain. The very first opportunity Mother Nature gave him he was on the job. He worked hard, offered suggestions on some issues my trees had, and took his time and did a great job on the 11 trees on my property. I can't wait to see them in the spring. Thanks Kris!!

Highly recommend. I had them remove 10 trees, they were easy to work with and found an economical way to solve my problem. I will definitely call them the next time I need tree work.

I needed a large walnut tree removed and the stump ground, as well as numerous smaller trees, shrubs and stumps removed. Staunton Tree Service was extremely professional and efficient, and the price was very reasonable. Kris Schmandt and his crew put in a full day here and never slowed down for a minute, in spite of the heat and humidity. They left the site immaculate. I can't recommend them highly enough, and will definitely hire them again in the future. They are tops in my book.
