Existing roof was less than 12 years old and looked good but leaked. Upon removal it was noted that the previous roofers had not installed the kitchen thru roof fan vent. The accumulated moisture had rotted the roof joists, plywood sheeting and caused black mold to grow on the ceiling insulation. This was far above the scope of work that had been expected or what the bid was based on. In reality almost all of the trusses had to be replaced on half the roof and several more on the other half. All of the plywood on the entire roof required replacing. In addition it was pointed out that the roof had never been properly vented even at initial manufacture so the roof was retrofitted to vent as it should have been in the first place. A final consideration was that the roof is considered to be a substandard pitch for most roofing products. Shingles would work but not as well as other applications. This was all presented in short order by Harry (company co-owner) while standing on the roof looking at the devastation. We quickly agreed to a plan and repair work began immediately. Harry's knowledge of roofing systems enabled him to make recommendations that exceeded my personal knowledge and allowed the project to proceed with virtually no pause. This is an important point as work began around the 1st of February and we had a period of clear weather that immediately preceded the two feet of snow that we received in the next couple of weeks. There is no doubt in my mind that if these trusses had not been replaced a good portion of the roof and snow would have ended up in the kitchen. Square Solutions quickly adapted to changed requirements and in my mind saved the house from a disaster. Because of the joists being replaced, we also replaced the gutters. Square Solutions is a one stop shopping contractor for virtually any repair. They even did some interior repair work that was a result of the scope of work being performed.
The entire installation was very professional. The work crew was able to complete the venting upgrades, joist replacement and hot roof installation making the house watertight before the snow started. They did a masterful job. They worked hard and were friendly and professional. The clean-up job was slowed down by the snow but was outstanding. Harry inspected the work and made sure that all was done to his meticulous standards. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone needing a new roof, gutters or any other home repairs.

Harry was very nice and came out to look at our roof then totally blew us off.....said he would send an estimate...never did...then our leak re appeared and I messaged him...he did get back to me but again blew me off ..said he would send an estimate...never did....so I would not recommend these guys. Very un professional ...there is a processional way to tell a perspective customer that the job is too small or whatever the reason may be for no contact twice. These guys are young and may do fine work but have a long way to go in professionalism .

Our 25 year old skylight started leaking. Square Solutions came out the same day we called and had the new skylights installed 2 days later. Their work was excellent quality. Not only that they did some other maintenance and didn't charge us.

The guys were honest and professional. They were very reasonably priced.

Great company! Very professional. Quick and did a great job!
When we bought our house, whomever built the garage roof, did not do it correctly and as a result, the rain water pooled at the bottom corner. Mold developed and rotted the frame holding up that side.
They added to the roof to make the water path slide all the way off the roof.

Service questions
1. Should I stay home during roof replacement?

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
