Great store with high-quality materials. The staff really make this place a great place to shop they are well versed in construction materials and building practices. My only gripe is that they are not always the cheapest priced on materials.

On Saturday I think it was Joe I think and he was quite helpful and very nice to us. Also, the two ladies are also very nice. I just wanted to say that and that Patrick out in the yard was absolutely awesome. He went way above and beyond to help me get the 26 by sixes that I needed in the quality I needed for exposed beam construction in my house. I am very supportive and very thankful for him and what he did for me please let him know.

Had a good experience with the appliance ladies. That has not been my experience in the past. It is good to see the improvement

I had to cancel building my house this year cause they didn’t turn in my order for floor trusses, which were going to be 3 weeks later than the roof trusses. Now I have over $45,000 tied up by B of A for 3 months. Will not do business with them again and will advise everyone I know to look elsewhere for building supplies

Great customer service. Way better than shopping at Home Depot or Lowes. Answered all my questions and loaded my truck.

I love SBS Wasilla. But lately I’ve called in twice now and left messages with no return call. So I had to call the Palmer SBS and place my order and go pick it up there. WTH WASILLA?
First call was for a full bunk of 3/4” t&g plywood and 4x12 PT beams and 80 bags of concrete. Last order was BCI’s and versa rim. 10k in all. Had to go to HD for concrete

Pros: Good material selection, mostly knowledgeable sales dept., prompt deliveries, usually still has what the box stores don't
Cons: Skeleton website with no product descriptions, high prices, closes early

SBS is like an old tree in the yard that could really use a pruning and some sprucing up, but you sure would miss if it was gone

They had what i needed twice this week. I wish they would have a few more specialty items in stock already. But im a particular guy already with my work and tools and i can understand if they didn't. Pros all the way. Thanks guys

We had always assumed SBS would be too expensive to use for small to medium projects. However, we ended up using SBS to build the roof over our 36 foot wide front porch and stairs before winter hit. We were pleasantly surprised. Some of the items were more expensive, but overall their total price for the building materials and cost of delivery was quite a bit lower than the cost from home depot, whom we had initially ordered from. They had called the day before delivery to say they were out of the most important materials and didn't know when they would be back in stock. We checked other chain stores,they were backed up in delivery till mid october. So we went to Wasilla SBS. The service desk was kind and helpful and they priced out our order and we found it was going to cost us less to build the project than the chain store. They were also able to deliver the day after we ordered, so we were only a day behind on our project thanks to them. We have gone back in a few times and been able to make other purchases for some items that were better suited to our project than the items the chain store was selling and cheaper as well. Everyone has been friendly and helpful, both when I have called in and when going in person.even when they are busy (which seems like all the time) and I like being able to support our local businesses. They may not always be the cheapest, but they have quality materials, are friendly and helpful. Try them out for yourself.

Everyone is friendly. Prices were a smidge high, but thats to be expected. They don't get the same traffic as Lowes or Home Depot. But they have inventory! So...when its out in other places, these guys probably have it.

The lower star is because the lumber yard is set up more for contractors and is a bit confusing for civilians. Just ask questions, though. Everyone there is great and super helpful.

They have everything you are looking for in terms of paint, tools, flooring and some other odds and ends.

Went into Spenards looking for a stainless steel gas range with a convection oven. I was on a limited budget and up to now I wasn't happy with what I'd seen in other stores. I gave Virginia Bell a rough idea of what I wanted and within minutes she pulled up a range that checked all the boxes, plus it black stainless steel. On top of that she set it up for next day delivery for free! Thanks Virginia, good luck on your fishing trip!

Spenard Builders Supply is a step above home depot. The prices are the same, and they seem happier to help. They are also local which is a big plus.
