From the very beginning, South Edge Roofing & Construction impressed my wife and I as we navigated the roofing industry. Our home is 100 years old with a separate guest house with attached garage. The scope of work was complicated and our insurance company was threatening to end coverage without a complete reroofing .Chris and Marina were professional, courteous and worked with us to make sure we had everything completed and to our satisfaction. Chris showed up on time for a cost estimate to repair my roof. Two working days later I was sent the estimate. Next day I payed the deposit and roof was repaired that day. The quality is excellent! Then comes wonderful customer service. I’m writing this review nine months after my original roof installation. Helene knocked a tree over on my house. Within seven days they had a major roof repair completed! Now we are facing hurricane Milton, and my roof is whole with no tarps! Miracle workers! These guys are good! And the repair was inexpensive. And it crushed the roof In spots! words can’t describe how thankful I am for them saving my home. 1 million stars to them and their construction team! I would trust them with anything. Bar none! Would never call another Roofer.

We got quotes from at least 5 different roofing companies. South edge roofing not only beat the prices, they were transparent with all costs, and worked quickly and efficiently to make sure my roof wad completed in a timely manner. Looks like quality work. There were two small misunderstandings in the process on a moderately complicated roofing job of a moderately damaged roof but the company took care of them by working with us to come to a reasonable solution. Most roofers I have experience with are difficult to deal with. They were easy to deal with. Hope to work with again in the future.

My roof is under warranty, and South Edge Roofing has refused to replace leaking roof boots on my house that they over hammered on the installation 2½ years ago.
They do not answer my text messages or my phone calls.
They want me to buy the materials to make any repairs on my warrantied roof.
At 1 point, Chris told me squirrels chewed my lead roof boots, and that's why they're leaking.
COJ says he is to make the repairs well that's hard to do when S.E.R. don't communicate, and when they do, it's a ridiculous request.
I've already paid for the roof materials when I paid for my roof.
Who is going to pay for the water damage?

I had my roof replaced over two years ago by South Edge Roofing and Construction- fabulous job. So the last two monsoons that came through had my bathroom vent leaking - a lot! Today Chris (a very polite, professional young man) came and tightened the vent as well as sealed around it. Thank you for your swift service. I recommend South Edge, great company.

This was the simplest process I could have imagined. They communicated with me every step of the way, never became impatient with my incessant questions. They got the work done in about 1.5 days and wrapped up everything. I can not reccomend South Edge enough!!

These guys are great! I had just a minor repair to be made on the siding around my chimney. I'm physically restricted and couldn't get up on the roof myself. I called a few different places only to be brushed off because it was "too small of a job". I called South Edge and explained my problem to Chris. He said "I'm right around the corner, I can be there within the hour!" He was here within 30 minutes and fixed the problem quickly. Thanks Chris!

You would think getting a new roof would be a difficult process, but with South Edge the experience was a very easy experience. They replaced my roof, added some features that helped redirect rain water and fixed drywall inside my house. Will be looking for them to do more work in the future. 10/10

South Edge Roofing and Construction recently did a roof replacement on my son's home in Neptune Beach. From the start Chris Carvajal was prompt in doing what he said they would do and thorough at keeping us informed every step of the process. His staff was equally responsive and respectful. We did a ton of research on roofers, got several estimates, and by FAR, Southedge is the BEST! We highly recommend them; so look no further for any of your roofing needs! They were also a referral from a friend (and realator), so they come highly recommended by many.

We had our entire roof replaced by Southedge, along with damaged wood replaced. They also sealed a plastic roofing cover over a walkway that was leaking. They also helped get a dip in our carport roof fixed. They are highly competent.

Cost was about average to other estimates, but their quality & professionalism was superior! Best value by far!

The entire process was seamless. They walked us through every little detail so that we understood exactly how everything was going to go. They stuck to the plan, got us in quickly (as we had leaks), and did an incredible job.

The roof is solid and looks great! We had several neighbors ask us who did the job because it looks so good. It’s been months since the work was complete, and many storms later, and ZERO issues.

Their crew was courteous, cleaned up everything, and were very professional (we wish every contractor was like them!).

There was one night where they ran into some extra work, and knocked on the door to ask if it was OK to be after 6 PM. It was so courteous! I mean no one does that anymore!?!?

South Edge did a phenomenal roof repair for us. Several years after a new roof install (by another company), we discovered there were a few rows of shingles that had not been nailed down. It literally took strong winds from a near miss by Idalia for the shingles to shift and a worrisome leak to pop up. Once my own handyman diagnosed the problem, South Edge was able to come by and put a rush on the repair job before several rainy days were upon us. In short: Great job. Very professional. Very prompt. Very reasonable.

Our new roof was completed last week (8/4/2023) and we could not be happier with South Edge Roofing & Construction. Our Project Manager, Donna Bartell was with us every step of the way over the long 3+ year insurance claims settlement process helping us keep a positive outlook and making sure we were updated from start to finish on everything. The owner, Chris, was also very responsive to any inquiries Donna relayed from us to him.

The roofers finished in record time (in under 2 days) even after a rain delay. They took care of our property very well during the process. We've already recommended South Edge Construction to others, and will definitely do so again when the opportunity arises. Blessings!

It goes to show that most of these reviews are fake. It has been my experience with South Edge that they only deserve one star. I only give them that because they did do good job in informing me of the process initially, but after paying half of the invoice, I received no communications. I had to keep calling to find out when the work was to commence. When a worker finally showed, he acted as if he didn't want to be briefed on what my issue was and wound up partially doing the job that eventually ruined my living room. I've called the company and the worker constantly for a month with promises to come back and complete the job with no response. And they have been paid in full. I do not recommend this company

South Edge Roofing $ Cons Co had our backs. In a crunch buying a house with hurricane roof damage, insurance companies won't insure house with damaged roof in general. Found a company that would help if we could find a roofer willing to quickly put up a roof without being locked down to an absolute install date and be able to be flexible in scheduling and getting job done at our house closing. This roofing company had our backs and we were able to move forward. Unfortunately for us, issues were found during home inspection that the owner did not want to address. Also owner was not forthcoming in not disclosing he already put a roof claim in and was even given a check to cover repairs. The house contract was voided and we didn't get the house. But knowing South Edge Roofing was going to work with a difficult scheduling made us feel good. We WILL be coming to them in the future.

If you have a roofing problem, call these guys! I had a leak in the roof and I called a bunch of companies and they all said they could come out in a week or so to assess the problem. Thankfully I kept calling around and found Sean with South Edge Roofing. Since I had water coming in the house he went out of his way to get someone over to my house right away to at least stop the leak and then worry about fixing the roof. Long story short they took care of my problem and I recommend them to everyone now. Thx Sean and Chris!

Couldn't be happier with the process of having a roof installed. Sean took care of all the whole thing, all we had to do was tell them a shingle color.

Roof was torn off and installed in a day and it looks great! We've had a handful of heavy storms and no issues. We went with OC Duration Black Sable and it turned out great!

I worked with Sean to get our secondary flat roof replaced. We were on a tight timeline, but they were able to get the roof replaced within a week of starting communication. He was very helpful and responsive throughout the process. I would use this company again.

Loving far away from your properties is never easy, especially when you need work done. We need a full roof tear down and install as well as replacement of any wood that was needed. Chris and his team took the pain away from this entire process and helped guide me from beginning to end and answer every question along the way. They were not only affordable but the quality and timeliness was great. I will look forward to using them again on more projects and would advise anyone looking for a roof to do the same. Update- Once work is thought to be completed, they will ignore any issues you have after although they say the work is warrantied. Multi months trying to get dryer vent properly reinstalled and a dryer that blew 2 control panels replaced have gone to death ears. Next steps going to lawyer to handle. BEWARE

Reached out to Chris at South Edge to take care of some repair requests for a home closing. He came out to look at the job and give a quote. He told me he could handle the requested items. I followed up via email 3 or 4 days later to find out about scheduling with no reply. I sent him a text a day later and he responded the next day that he would reach out by noon that day(Friday). No follow up. Sent numerous other text messages with no response. I understand if a job is too small or you are too busy, but to tell a customer that you will do the job and then fall off the face of the earth is very unprofessional. It put me in a very tough situation with wasting about week and half of my time to try and find another contractor before closing. Will not attempt to use again or recommend

It was time for a new roof for our large mix use building in the historic area of Saint Augustine. We knew it would be a daunting task to balance the parking needs of the commercial units, the need for residential tenants to have peace and quiet, and the necessity of replacing a very old roof. Chris from South Edge Construction did a great job with that balance, as well as communicating with us - owners in a different time zone.

Chris walked me through the quote, handled the city permits, and coordinated with the management company to notify the tenants. The job came in on time, thanks to good weather, and within the scope of the quote. The only issue we encountered was the need to replace all the skylights, which based on their age, was a smart thing to do while this job was going on. Chris handled it and took care of everything. I highly recommend them for roofing and plan to have them bid on other projects we have in the future.

We had a palm tree fall on our roof during a bad storm on the night Feb 6-7. There was substantial damage.

I contacted South Edge Construction, along with two other highly rated roofing contractors on the morning of Feb 7th. Chris, the owner of South Edge Construction, literally responded within minutes of my phone call. He came to our home, gave me an estimate, and promised to have a crew on-site first thing the next morning.

True to his word, his crew was at our home early the next morning. Their work was excellent, and within two hours of their arrival, our roof had been restored to its original condition - it was impossible to tell that anything had ever happened. We have had several rainstorms since that day, and no issues with leaks whatsoever.

Quick response, excellent quality of work, very reasonable rates, everything about our experience with South Edge Construction was first-rate. Next week, we are getting an estimate from them for further work on our home. I would not hesitate to hire them again. Highly recommended.

WOW! Where do I begin. Cris and Steve are awesome! We had so many
issues from a previous job gone wrong and 4 months later things still weren't right and they came in and handled absolutely everything. They are meticulous, fair, accommodating, personable, honest , and super nice! ( I could give you lots more adjectives, but I think you guys get the point lol)
I love their concept that they are one company that has different contractors for everyone's needs. They are a one stop shop! We had porcelain tile done on our patio (outside and in screened patio), and that in itself was amazing! If anyone has tried to find someone who does outdoor porcelain tile in Jacksonville and has come up with nothing, you're not alone. They also painted our pergola, put in a new screen door, moved our fans and did electrical work, and put the roof on our pergola! After all this is done we are going to have them do our landscaping!

They are still fairly new so there are not many reviews yet, but don't let that stop you from choosing them. I think they still only advertise for roofing, but they do so much more than that. If you're on the fence, take the leap. You won't regret it. In the few weeks I've been working with them they have become like family to me. They will go above and beyond for you to make everything EXACTLY the way you want it!!
