Farmer's Insurance recommended Sol Vista Roofing, and I had them along with another company assess my roof for storm damage. I ultimately chose Sol Vista because they were friendly and knowledgeable. They completed my roofing job quickly and did an excellent job with the cleanup. I would definitely recommend them. However, I did encounter some communication issues between the roofing company and my insurance provider. Farmer's would call me, saying they couldn't reach Sol Vista but that is the only slightly inconvenient thing. Overall, they were great!

Sol Vista replaced a 27 year old cedar shake shingle roof with a DaVinci composite shake shingle roof. Ty came out to do the inspection and estimate the day after requested as winter was setting in, and then got out a 2nd estimate after I changed my shingle type preference. Ty worked hard with DaVinci to obtain all the materials, in the color and style requested, in a timely way in spite of supply bottlenecks. Installers had to overcome tear-off obstacles left behind by prior (1998) roofer, ensured the decking was entirely clean, and got the new roofing installed by the end of February, as soon as weather permitted. The new roof appears as a flawless, renewed version of what was there before. As yet no issues.

I giess what I would say about this company that distinguishes it from others (and I am well into my senior years so I have worked with several) is their excellent communications and the professional way that they carry out the work. We had a front porch roof on a very old house that, it turns out, had the original “decking” (the base layer of wood) on it. So there was a lot more work involved than first thought. Disappointing project management for roof, paint, and solar project. The stars I've given are for great quality of work - roof is great, paint is great, solar is finally back on - but the communication was terrible with our project manager Ty. Weeks would go by that we didn't hear from him, people would show up to our house without any notice. We did contact the owner about lack of response/communication and he apologized and we started hearing from Ty again after he was MIA. I finally had to contact the Solar company directly to have scheduling information because relaying it through Ty did not work (the solar scheduler said the same when I spoke with her). I don't usually leave negative reviews, but Ty kept asking for a review - so here it is - I hope the owner does a review about the poor management on this project and makes changes.

I had a 25 lbs decorative knee brace detach from the roof awning. And, had 3-4 others about to do the same. Sol Vista came out and was able to anchor all of them back to the roof and reattach the broken one. It only took a few hours and the communication was excellent the whole time. The guy showed up two hours late and spend less than 10 minutes looking at my roof before telling me that I needed a new roof and giving me the hard sell.
