We interviewed 4 contractors .All seemed fair and showed value. However after speaking to Pete K., we were sure we made the right choice going with Smart Roofing. Also we had some satisfied neighbors who also recommended Smart. During the work, his crew was diligent and professional. Darek led the crew and every care was taken to make sure the jobsite was clean and neat. Follow up was done by Pete K to make sure everything was to his and our satisfaction. I am so pleased with my new Brava Tile roof that Smart Roofing installed. I had used Smart Roofing prior to this instillation when my aging cedar shake roof needed some minor repairs. They did a very good job repairing it, but I was told at that time that the roof needed to be replaced soon. This last winter I spotted a leak in the garage roof and knew it was time to replace it. I did not want another cedar shake roof that required constant maintenance and cleaning. Besides, I was told by other roofing contractors that cedar shake roofs now have a shorter lifespan. . A Brava Tile roof was the ideal choice. It looks just like cedar (keeping the house’s curb appeal) but maintenance free and comes with a 50 year warranty!
Mike, from Smart Roofing, was great to work with, prior to installation, during and after completion. He always was attentive to my requests and questions. He supervised an excellent crew that were highly skilled and worked diligently from 7:30 a.m. until frequently after 6:30 p.m. They carefully covered the plantings near the house, and their clean up afterwards was impressive. I highly recommend this Five Star roofing company.

We met Pete as he was replacing roofs on two of our neighbors' houses. They had storm & hail damage. We asked him to inspect ours and sure enough, we also had damage. Pete worked with the insurance adjusters and we wound up with a new roof completely covered by insurance.

From the beginning, Pete was pleasant and professional. He was extremely helpful and patient as he brought shingle samples. Owning a mansard roof made the selection process more difficult, but Pete went the extra mile. He nailed various samples on our roof so we could get a better picture of the end result.

Pete’s crew of 5-6 men were efficient and hardworking. They came promptly every morning and worked continuously. They replaced rotten wood, recapped metal on the windows, and laid the shingles skillfully and meticulously. They carefully cleaned our property of construction debris before leaving.

Pete was always available to us to answer questions and make sure that the project was going smoothly. He and his men cared about quality workmanship and our satisfaction. We are very satisfied and appreciative for a job well done!

Smart Roofing did a great job on our roof, gutters, and soffit and fascia. They used all GAF products, GAF trained installers, so there is a great warranty included from GAF. The installers were very neat while they worked, cleaned up anything that was left,
and work was finished ahead of schedule. The house looks wonderful, and I would highly recommend Smart Roofing.

Sometimes the stars do align, in this instance the 'star' was Smart Roofing and our Salesman, Pete.

We discovered a soft spot in the ceiling in the main bedroom Tuesday morning before Thanksgiving, never a good time for a roof to spring a leak. [Spoiler alert! It appears a tree branch had damaged a couple shingles in a valley, allowing a gap for water to migrate.]

I called Pete Tuesday morning, he pulled up our file, including pictures, and said "ill be there at 11". Pete arrived on time, inspected and assessed the problem and set a plan into place, concluding with "I'll figure this out from my end and try to get our guy here tomorrow".

As hoped, the 'Smart Guy' (literally) arrived the next morning, set up his gear and was cleaned and buttoned up a couple hours later. All better! And on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, thankfully.

I had multiple quotes for our roof and gutters and Smart Roofing was on the lower side of pricing. But what made me pick them was their responsiveness to all my questions and their excellent follow up. They were very honest in their opinions and I felt I was in excellent hands with them. They gave me a date for the start of the project and stuck to it. They even changed the areas of where the downspouts were from the original location to make my house look even better. (not sure why this was not done when I had originally had the gutters placed years ago).Their workmen were very nice and they cleaned up the area so well that I only found 1 nail out of I presume 100's when you tear off a roof. When we had a tree fall on our house in a windstorm last April, we called Pete Konopka at Smart Roofing because they had installed the existing roof in 2001. Pete came out that day and patched the holes so we would not get water damage from the threatening spring rains. He then helped us navigate the details of our replacement roof insurance claim to make sure all seen and unseen damage was covered. Additional fascia problems created by another contractor 11 years ago were identified and we were given a recommendation for a contractor to fix the issue, which was a less expensive option to having them replaced by Smart Roofing. The workmen were professional and thorough as they worked long hours to complete the work on time. They also designed and installed a unique downspout that will divert rainwater into a rain barrel during the spring and summer months and away from the house during the winter months. Our house with a new roof and gutters looks and functions better than ever. As two-time satisfied customers, we highly recommend Smart Roofing.

Our roof was nearly 20 years old and was holding up great, but we are investing in solar panels and so the whole thing needed to be replaced. Pete was responsive from my first inquiry about a quote. He met with me to talk about the details of the project and explore different options. I appreciate the time he spent understanding our situation and telling me about the extra steps the company makes to use sustainable practices like recycling whatever demo materials possible. Ultimately, the team replaced the entire roof and all gutters on our home and our detached garage. They replaced several boards that were rotten or in disrepair and vented our upstairs bathroom, which hadn't been done previously. In addition to all of this, they helped us to acquire necessary photographs of the roof joists for our solar's structural assessment. I was told I would be called within a week and never called me back. So I called back to see if they were still interested and they said they would be out the next week to look at it and never showed up. At least tell me you don't want the job.

Our house was re-roofed by Smart Roofing, Inc. Our property is very difficult to work with due to extensive landscaping and mature trees close to the house, requiring material movement and disposal using wheel barrels and a lot of manual labor.
We were happy to work with Pete on the quotation during which he was very careful to match the quality level of the entire roofing system to the one we had installed originally. Pete also worked to coordinate everything with the insurance company, permits from the village, etc.
Pete’s crew were all experienced roofers and worked long hours to complete this complicated roof (steep pitch and many ridges due to roof changes) in a timely manner, taking care not to leave us exposed to rain by only stripping and completing sections at a time that they could complete.

As an elderly single woman, my experience with responses from other roofing companies was dismal at best, with no follow through. Smart Roofing emailed me, sent a quote and Pete, the foreman (and relative of the owner) was professional, pleasant, a regular likeable guy, and came out listening patiently to all my questions. The business is family owned and the pride in what they have built shows. The team of 4 roofers were professional, cleaned up every night and when they encountered a broken pipe along a dormer called Pete immediately who asked for my approval, then went to Home Depot, bought a repair pipe and sealant and explained exactly why I might have been getting water in the dining room ceiling. All within an hour!.They inspected all my boards and said everything was in good shape. They could of scammed me but they are straight forward, honest and I would highly recommend them. they will photo the roof for you. I did ask for a certificate of insurance and they had their agent respond immediately. Yes, they were competitively priced. I highly recommend the work.

Great job fixing my roof. I have a terra cotta roof which is a specialty roof and they had the expertise to fix it! They used a flying drone to initially diagnose the suspected problem area. Then they emailed me a fair estimate to fix it. The email correspondence was quick, polite, and professional. We agreed on the date and the workers arrived on time. They showed me and explained the work they were doing. They got the job done in a timely fashion and it looks great! Very satisfied experience overall.
