We had Amsterdam replace our roof and gutters. The work was completed less than two weeks after we got their proposal. The quality of the work was great. The crews were very neat. Plus their proposal was the lowest of three estimates we received. It was a pleasure to work with Gerard.

When we bought our cute old home in 2020, we knew our roof was older, but our inspector gave it several more years before it needed to be replaced. We then endured two polar vortexes and several wild and windy storms. When we had our first roof leak this year (2024), a neighbor who is a General Contractor kindly did the repair…but then four more leaks sprung across the house. Our insurance company decided the roof was too old for them to cover repairs or replacement, so we needed to pay fully out of pocket. Our GC friend recommended Amsterdam Roofing and Siding; his company had worked with them several times and appreciated their high quality materials and experts. Within a day, folks from Amsterdam inspected our roof and Ralph walked us through their products and process as well as their repair and transferable guarantees. While they are a little more expensive than other competitors, you’re paying for their roofing system and the meticulous installation team who have enormous respect for your home. Our roof installation also included demolishing one old, defunct chimney stack, and Amsterdam’s team had this skill set, too…and that “one stop shop” for our roof replacement made things much less stressful for us.

Arthur was friendly and accurate about timelines for material drop off and how many days it’d take to install as well as what we could expect on installation days. He and his team were on time and so professional that one of our neighbors actually took the time to let us know she appreciated them, too. Arthur has a perfectionist attitude and it shows on our roof…and it also showed in the way his team completely cleaned up all their messes. Arthur’s Amaterdam roof crew was the first group of contractors we’ve worked with who’ve completed their work and left me with zero need to then walk around and clean up after them.

We were so impressed with Amsterdam’s work that we’ve now ordered windows from them (we just ordered them so they do not appear in this picture). Ralph stopped by the same day I called about our cracked window, and he showed me their window system and gave us a quote. Again, it’s not the cheapest window system out there, but, their insulation system (which Ralph demonstrated like a science teacher) makes it top notch. He and Martin then stopped by a few days later to take exact measurements.

We are a no-nonsense couple who don’t want to haggle or deal with companies that suddenly have extra fees, contract loopholes once we sign a contract or products that don’t live up to what we were shown—and the entire Amsterdam team is no nonsense, professionally friendly, and take great pride in their work. They give you what they promise, and you get some of the best experts and workers in their trades.

Very good business have repeated business with 2 complete roof replacements and complete siding of our home. Have done storm damage repairs. Might not be the cheapest price but quality workmanship. Most every company vehicle is kept in good condition.

Amsterdam did a great job on a new roof for my house nine years ago and came back earlier this month to do some repair work on it and check and clean our gutters and downspouts, which were not working properly despite several visits by other contractors. They diagnosed the problem and fixed it. They are reliable, professional, hardworking and neat (no trampled flower beds). Very happy and highly recommend!
