Dacota and Simply Decks were amazing to deal with. Not only were they very fairly priced, but Dacota made the entire process easy. Within a day, he had a list of materials I would need already created at our local lumberyard. He communicated great. He worked very very hard each day he was here. And he was very professional and accommodating. He was able to clearly explain what we should do, was flexible when I had to make changes, and was always looking for ways to take his work above and beyond. He takes a lot of personal pride in his work. It didn’t feel like he was building “another deck”. It was a unique piece of work for him, and he wanted to ensure our satisfaction at every step. I can’t recommend Dacota or Simply Decks enough.

Wow. Absolutely five star service from start to finish. We chose to work with Simply Decks because of their attention to detail in the sales process. We have a very demanding back yard with severe elevation change and their experience and recommendations are what sealed the deal. During the tear down and installation, Justin was very communicative. He made a recommendation for a change order and laid out the pros and cons in an easy to understand manner with zero sales pressure. My favorite part of the installation was Justin and his crew's work ethic. They showed up on time every day, cleaned up their work site, and really showed a great attention to detail. Good contractors are hard to find and Simply Decks is one you want to recommend to everyone. We had to wait a couple months to get on their schedule and it was worth the wait!

Simply Decks did a beautiful job installing a new deck for us. Justin is the ultimate owner/operator. He and his assistant, Bill, were knowledgeable and expert craftsmen, and so easy to work with! The concrete removal crew took out a large area of 6” concrete slabs in just over an hour, a few days before Justin and Bill began the deck installation. We were given a full explanation of how to care for the deck and shown how to operate the timer on the staircase lights. Bill did a complete clean-up of the yard before he left. We are thrilled with the finished project. We highly recommend Simply Decks!

I almost pulled the trigger on a DIY job, but I’m glad I went with Simply Decks for this one. They did a great job on a complete tear down and rebuild of our elevated deck in Ann Arbor. The deck is extremely sturdy and looks amazing. Attention was paid to hidden but critical details like waterproofing the ledger board and blocking the framing. The job was quite fast start-to-finish. Tom made the contract process simple and the pricing was much more reasonable compared to other quotes in the area. Other vendors were quoting as much as 3x more for the same Trex construction.

I would highly recommend Simply Decks. The team is customer focused and never a "hard sell". The original project was a re-decking, but after the top was pulled off the frame was in question. Rather than selling a complete rebuild, the pros / cons were discussed, ultimately leaving it to me, the customer, to make the final decision. While going with the rebuild added time to the project, in terms of additional work and inspections (as well as additional cost as expected) - the final product turned out to be absolutely great! The Trex Transcend looks wonderful on our house and is a huge improvement compared to the previous deck.

This company does not back up their word. They installed our deck back in June of this year and were paid in full. Since then we've discovered some steps were not level and we had several spindals in the railing fall out because they were cut too short. We've called several times to have the repairs and replacement spindals. The last call to them on 9/25 and their response was "that they had to order new spindals and that this was their busy season." Essentially they said "too bad." I called their product vendor (locally) and was told they had plenty of spindals in stock.

We had a Trex deck built by Simply Decks. It’s not only beautiful, but the design they suggested has been great for entertaining. After our deck was done, we decided to have a concrete patio done underneath the deck. I called Simply Decks to see if this was something they did. The salesman we dealt with gave me the name of the concrete company they use, and helped facilitate the process. Now we have a two level space for outdoor living! We couldn’t be happier with the customer service and the quality of work.

I am working directly with Aaron and Jim on finishing my basement right now. I knew Aaron before this project started and referred him to 2-3 friends that I work with. They were all very happy with their decks, so I decided to use him for my basement. This is a home that I had built so I have had some experience with contractors and tradesmen. Aaron is much more responsive than any contractor I have ever worked with. He actually picks up his phone when you call and if he misses the call he has always returned it within the hour. Same goes for text and email. It's nice to get a quick answer on some of this stuff so you don't forget it until it's too late, or requires a lot more work and money. Just a good all around business practice. My wife is due with our second child in early April so I was somewhat concerned about finding a contractor that could get this done in time. Aaron told me when he could start, and actually started on that day. His tradesmen showed up 10 minutes early the day we started and the materials also arrived 1 day early. Very polite crew, great work so far. I will follow up once the project is complete but as of now this is the best experience I have had related to my home.

They took 3 months to get the approval, and rushing us to start the construction. We were in India, we completely forgot what we ordered and asked them wait for one week. No they wouldn't agree and have to pay immediately. So I paid the total amount while I was still in India and when I came back after the week, hoping deck was already built, nope. It took one more week just to dig holes, another two weeks to build the decks. They also did not install the LED lights as they are supposed to. It's almost two months, I'm asking them to install the lights but they are not responding to my mails.
