I would recommend the Siding & Windows Group for any James Hardie siding project. We had a project manager in contact with us through the entire project. If we had a question, the project manager answered promptly. The crew who completed the siding project were meticulous and friendly. They did not rush and always made sure we understood what was happening and we were involved in all decisions. They went above and beyond! We are extremely happy with how our house looks and are confident that everything was done correctly. Our neighbors have given us numerous compliments on the house and even complimented the crew on the thoroughness of their work.

Hired this company after getting 6 different quotes, as they got good reviews and had decent pricing. The workers were fabulous and did a great job with the siding, but I did have a few problems: they recommended I add a patio door before the siding, and yet the door didn't arrive on time for that to happen, and when it came the opening was on the wrong side. They ordered a different door to replace that, but their invoice didn't reflect the cheaper door when they tried to get me to pay. If I didn't bug them about it, they would've made me pay for the more expensive door I didn't get! The workers for some reason or other also chopped part of the ends of my gutter drains, so they didn't fit into my drain system properly, and I had to bug them to come back and fix, which they eventually did. Also, their workers left a ton of debris around my property, which I'm still seeing 4 years later; I've called/emailed multiple times to get them to come out with some magnet to scour the property edge because there were quite a bit of nails, screws, metal shavings, etc, and despite repeated assurances, they've never come back (because I mistakenly paid them all their money!). So all in all, great job on the siding, but I'd wait until ALL the work is completed before you pay the final invoice!

After numerous interviews with James Hardie installation companies, Siding and Windows Group is the one we felt most confident in. Well, we nailed it. Dealing with WSG from day one to last day of project was professional and smooth. The crew assigned to our project were outstanding and very accommodating to our questions and minor requests. We have had a lot of inquiries from neighbors and friends about our project and we are providing a great review of WSG to them.

I had my cedar shakes replaced with Hardie shingle siding. I got several bids, and Siding & Windows Group was in the middle of the range. I ended up choosing them because they were the most responsive. The team that did the work was fantastic. The only negative was that during the sales process they estimated the work would start in 7 to 8 weeks but it ended up being almost double that. I will use them again when I redo my garage siding.

I worked with Angelo on my estimate and he was nothing but patient and helpful with every question I had along the way. They have been working for the past few weeks in February! As long as it’s above 20°, they’re working. They make sure to clean up the job site every day so there’s no debris in the pathways. They have done an amazing job and I will continue recommending them to everyone.

The cedar siding on my house had become warped and cracked, despite having been regularly stained every 6-8 years. I decided to replace it with a siding material that could withstand the weather without warping/expanding/contracting, so I chose Hardieboard. Got estimates from four separate contractors that I found on the Hardie website. SWG’s bid wasn't the highest nor the lowest. I wanted this project done by a company with experience in Hardie installations, so after a bit more research, I signed with SWG.

The total project included re-siding the entire house and replacing about 20 windows with Marvin fiberglass windows. As I work at home, I was able to watch as the project progressed, and feel pretty good about the integrity of the work. There were some areas of rotted plywood sheathing that had to be replaced before the new siding insulation was installed. This was the only hitch along the way.

For budget reasons, I had the work done in 3 phases over the course of 2 years. Their excellent work on the first phase gave me the confidence to move forward with them to do the rest of the house. Actual work time for the entire project was about 4 weeks with a crew of 3-4 people. The crew members were very professional and friendly, with a great work ethic.

Compared to cedar boards, the Hardie planks are a bit thinner and so do not have the pronounced shadow lines as cedar boards. But for me, the main advantage is weather resistance and longevity. The new Marvin fiberglass windows are great too. They are absolutely draft-free, and qualify for a federal energy-efficiency tax credit.

Very pleased with the end result and would definitely recommend Siding and Windows Group.

We had Siding and Windows Group come out among a batch of 4 other companies for a roof and siding replacement after last August's hail damage. Here's how they stood out:

They had excellent communication. From Angelo's estimate all the way to passing inspection, they were on top of their game. The estimate had every combination of options listed with exactly what they were going to do and photos of the planned work. We were assigned a field supervisor (Justin, I believe?) who would come out on the same day to inspect any issues we brought up. Our contact with the office via Cindy and Anthony was also superb and always timely.

The work was done swiftly and well. The roofers were done before I got back from work. Siding and gutters are more involved, but they did excellent there as well and Roman et al. were excellent to work with, took feedback very well (see communication above), and were very hard and efficient workers.

All in all, we were done with our project long before other houses in the same subdivision who had all signed up with doorknocker companies, and they delivered a high level of quality. To be clear, their estimate was slightly higher (my gut says 10% higher, but it's been a while since I reviewed the proposals) than some other offers we received, but for the work that we were doing, level of customization, and communication, we wouldn't make a different choice.

I had a great experience beginning to end! They provided a very clear agreement, followed through with all their work, everyone was pleasant to work with, and Anthony was exceptionally good at keeping me up to date on the project of new siding and windows. Priced right. Highly recommend!

Cannot speak highly enough of Siding & Windows Group. Excellent communication throughout a very difficult Hardie Board siding project on a 175 year old house with a shocking number of surprises under the surface. Work is terrific; team was friendly, honest, and highly skilled. If i could give more stars i would. The job was for an extra large dormer on the back of the house which was built in 1963. Cannot speak enough of the transformation using the materials in such a way with extreme detail and unparalleled workmanship to accomplish the end result. I highly recommend this company. I would use them over and over again.

Probably the best contractor experience I've ever had! The on-site team really hustled--worked 12 hours/day and even showed up on a Saturday--without sacrificing quality. Friendly and helpful and cleaned up well at the end of each day and at the end of the project. We love the results--looks like a whole new house--and have already received many complements from the neighbors!

Our over 100 year old house needed 2 front doors and transom windows. We had our windows replaced by Siding and Windows group. Rocco was our salesman and he was very through and explained our choices. Rocco also promptly answered all of our countless emails during and after the sales process. Their prices were competitive when compared to other well-known windows installers. We chose Marvin windows and Anthony helped us throughout the project and explained additional expenses found in one of the window frame. The installers, Bob and Mark, were friendly and professional and did a great job installing the windows and trimming the interior. Another crew came a couple days later to install the James Hardie exterior trim and they also worked quickly and through rain to finish the job. We are very pleased with the windows and will recommend them to other people we know!

We were so happy with the work that Siding & Window group did on our window & exterior home project. We're first-time homeowners making our first big renovation and had no idea what we were doing. It was important to find a company we could trust, who could manage the whole process end to end and educate us along the way.

As busy folks we appreciated the high level of customer service - they reached out with frequent updates and estimated timing accurately. I never actually used this company because they were so unresponsive. The first salesperson, Julie, who came to my home promised me a quote within 24 hours. I waited for over a week and finally called them and was told that she was on vacation but that the owner would contact me right away. He did so and said he would have a quote for me on the following Monday. Monday came and went and no one called me to check to see that I had received the quote or if I had any questions. I finally called them again on Wednesday to ask where my estimate was, and they said they had emailed me, but they used the wrong email address. Then when I finally received the quote, it was 25% over all of the 4 other quotes I had received, despite being promised a discount, for my inconvenience. So basically I wasted a ton of time for nothing. Frustrating!

So far WE love their customer service.Very detailed and Very honest. After eveyting we've been through with a PAST deceptive company and contractor WE ABSOLUTELY HAVE FAITH AND TRUST IN THIS COMPANY.

Amazing company to work with, start to finish. We took our time making decisions about this project, and never felt rushed to hurry. We had Hardie Board siding installed and we found their prices competitive. More importantly, we knew how important it is to work with people that really know what they're doing when working with Hardie Board; our team, Javier, José, and Danny, did impeccable work. Some companies have large teams that swoop in and do a quick job, but having just a few people who really took the time to know it home meant the project wasn't prone to mistakes. We were delighted with how they left the worksite each day, clean and safe. I hope never to have to install siding again, but if I do I would definitely use this team again. Highly recommend!

Siding and Windows Group is a top not h company and we highly recommend using them if you are looking for high quality and honest work. We were in a special situation and Angelo was with us from the moment I placed a call to the company, until we were ready to move forward. His approach was no nonsense, no pressure, and that is because they want to do place you within the right product categories and at the right budget. We started with just new James Hardie siding but decided to add a new front door and a new rear patio french door. Could not be happier with the design and color choices. There is a reason this company is top rated and has a long list of references which they provide so you can drive and see the work yourself. They provided us with horizontal lap siding and vertical batten board.

We had 13 windows and a sliding glass patio door installed. I was extremely happy with the service provided and would highly recommend this company. They were professional during the entire process . The job was completed in a timely manner and both the quality and value were well worth the money. I will definitely use them in the future.

Working with Siding & Windows Group was a good experience for us. Angelo was flexible with meeting times and was the most thorough sales person we met with in this process - he took the time to explain everything to us and showed us samples. The crew that worked on the house was quiet and polite and very professional. Estimated project time was 5 days and I think they took exactly 5 days. Would hire again and highly recommend.

This is my second experience with Windows and Siding Group. They do excellent work and use only the best materials. They leave the work site clean each day. I had my house sided with Hardie board and I am very happy with it. It’s great to have no more painting and maintenance. The second job was the garage. They had excellent communication and when I needed something they explained the how and the why.

We removed old siding and stucco. Repaired the roof, installed insulation and new siding and gutters and 5 windows. This company surpassed all my expectations. The crew that came out completed the project quickly and efficiently. They did a great job of cleaning up at the end of each day. Upon completion I checked the entire house and every joint and seam is perfect. I walked the property figuring I would find a few stray pieces of siding or aluminum, but never found a speck. I would highly recommend this company to family, friends and anyone who wants a quality job on their house.

Siding and Windows Group did a fantastic job! They replaced our dark brown Tudor with bright Hardie Board to create the Crafstman style I envisioned. We also used them for all our windows, exterior doors, fascia, soffit, and gutters. They are extremely responsive and stuck to their timeline. They also use a very helpful rendering software to help you picture your design, which I loved. I would definitely recommend!

Siding & Windows Group made our house look fabulous! Shortly after moving into our house we discovered that we had to re-side the whole house due to thousands of micro-cracks in our ancient cedar siding. We considered many options, but finally, we decided to re-side with Hardy Board as we favored that aesthetic.

For our project we actually worked with two different siding companies. Due to the unexpected nature (and unexpected cost) of our project we divided it into 2 years. For the first part of the project, we used a different company (NOT Siding & Windows Group) and had a very unsatisfactory experience--improper installation of materials and horrible customer service. I am happy to say that the second phase of our project by Siding & Windows Group went much smoother, and we're very happy with the end product.

They transformed our house and made it look brand new! Their team was reliable and did a fantastic job. We highly recommend.

We had vinyl siding replaced with hardie board on hour entire home. The estimate was fast and competitive. The quality of the work was exceptional with attention to detail around external fixtures (outlets, lights, faucets). I highly recommend them!

Siding and Windows Group replaced our 46 year old siding with Hardie Board last Fall and we cannot be happier. One year in and we have not found any issues. We took nearly two years to search for a reliable company and Andy, Seweryn, and Marcin were the crew who spent three weeks to complete the job. I have dealt with Greg Bednarski and the Siding & Windows Group since 2000 when he sided/trimmed my 1890’s frame home and most recently this year when my large picture window and two kitchen windows were replaced. I have always been impressed with the professionalism that Greg and his crews bring to the projects he has done for me. Siding & Windows Group installed custom exterior wood paneling and did a great job from start to finish. They worked with my architect and were helpful during the design process. They performed the construction promptly and professionally. Just a joy to work with.

When my wife and I were looking to reface the front of our home, we selected James Hardie for the siding material. In the weeks following, we had received installation quotations from several siding companies in the area. The difference in price surprised us as well as the quality of the overall quote packages. Price deltas as much as 50% and quotation packages from a single page to full document portfolios with pictures of our home.

It was clear from the beginning that the Siding & Window Group, LTD sales team was a step above the rest. They listened to what we wanted and suggested many alternatives to make the front of our home look even better. They did offer us less expensive alternatives for each of the options, while explaining the pros and cons of each. They also took the time to offer their opinion why one option may look better overall.

The installation team was outstanding. It was a very rainy period and working in sloppy and windy conditions was not easy. Yes, there were weather delays, but safety was also a major concern for the installers, and this was clearly communicated to us. Given the very sloppy conditions, the work was done in a professional manner and the crew did their best to keep the area clean.

Our project was very challenging with many special details which added complexity. I am also a Quality Engineer and demand the highest-level of performance. This was a pleasure working with the Siding & Window Group’s team as they were open to any of my inputs and comments and took the time to discuss them as the project proceeded.

Almost a year after completing the project, there were some areas which needed the caulking to be touched up. A simple phone call to the company and all issues were resolved.

Siding & Window Group is also a James Hardie Elite Preferred Installer. Now that our project is completed, we see how important this is. Many of the homes in the area also have similar siding and it is clear, that Siding & Window Group does it the “right way”. The flashing is correct, the gaps are the correct spacing, and caulking is applied only where it should be. Most of the neighbors have stopped by to tell us how wonderful the front of our house looks. This is the ultimate confirmation that you did it right and chose the right contractor.

We truly found an outstanding siding company with Siding & Window Group, LTD. Their communications between their team members and my wife and I was outstanding. But no review is complete without a suggestion for improvement. Siding and Window Group works in a departmental organization. Sales does their part, installers do theirs, and logistic makes sure the material is delivered and on site when needed. Although this make for a very efficient operation and project, we would like to see the Sales team on site at the beginning of the project and maybe at the end for a final follow up. This is by no means a negative input, but when you are the best at what you do, you always need to be asking, “what I could do to improve more.”

In the end, you pay for what you get and the Siding and Window Group, LTD is worth every dollar!

Siding and Windows Group replaced my 30 year old aluminum siding with insulated vinyl siding, plus, all windows were replaced. The siding looks great, though not the color I expected from a tiny swatch :-). Workmanship is excellent. The siding looks so different from my old siding - so much better. The details are amazing with outlet covers, vent covers, and even light fixture backings that match the siding.

This company offers numerous window options from known manufacturers (Pella, Marvin, Andersen, etc...) and they take their time to ensure you get what you want. I can't tell you how many times Angelo came to my home to show me windows.

Although we got off to a rough start, Neil and Greg came through in the end. It took about a year and a half from our first appointment to the completion, but that was due to a number of factors--including our budget.
We have a 19th century Chicago worker's cottage that had been through many "renovations" throughout the years. Essentially, we had to undo a century of "remodeling" which included asbestos siding and replacing leaky vinyl construction grade windows in front. When we asked for historical trim, we got the style of what was uncovered underneath the layers of siding.
Whenever there was an issue, they came through--maybe not the first time, but they listened and responded. Even though Neil was the design guy, he'd respond when we needed something during the construction. All of the materials were of high quality and negotiated within our budget.
As homeowners know, relationships with contractors are a big deal, and once a good one is found, you don't want to let go! We're happy to say that we plan to work with Siding & Windows Group in the future.

We just finished a huge project on our 120 year-old home. Siding & Windows Group did the new Hardie siding, new windows, and new porch. It took a while to get the project off the ground, and there were a few hiccups, but in the end, Greg did everything he needed to do to make us happy. And we are very happy.

This Company provided great craftsmanship and professionalism for their services. I am so pleased with the project and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. Todd and Greg (the owner) were exceptional and demonstrated passion and knowledge in their work.

I was scared to make such a huge decision like having new siding put on my home. This was going to be a costly decision and I could not afford a mistake. Siding and Window Group was so professional and supportive it was incredible. They provided renderings of my home in the different colors and made the process easy. The installation team run by Matt was awesome, kind, and so supportive with ideas. I cannot say enough good things about my experience and by the way? My house looks "badass". Love these guys, can't go wrong with them.

Work was outstanding. From the very beginning we were working with a salesman (John). He was patient and thoughtful in how to do the job and options. It's a big under taking and far from inexpensive. We hesitated and did a lot of number crunching. When we decided to proceed, the company assigned a PM (Jola), who was responsive. On site crew was thorough and professional (Norbert-lead and Tom). We ran into a lot more rotted wood than originally anticipated, but I now have more confidence in my home integrity than I've ever had. A 2 week job turned in 5.5 weeks, but the work was so impressive neighbors and strangers would stop by and ask us about it or gather the company information to get their own quotes.

First and for most, I want to start off by saying thank you to Angelo for coming to a strangers home and presenting what the siding and windows group had to offer. Overall the siding and windows group was very professional from day one. My wife and I decided to change the color of the siding during the construction process and I know how frustrating this can be for a group of hard working individuals. I spoke with Greg the project manager about our concerns and he did not hesitate or argue with us about changing the colors, which I thought was going to be a problem. Greg was professional and kind by stating, "Our company is about satisfaction to our clients, I want you to come home and be happy about your decision and color of the siding and not second guess what, I should have done." My wife and I were so happy and relieved that the change was done without any hassles, throughout the whole project that took two weeks, Greg and I were in touch with any problems or concerns that we had till the end of the project.
The two hard working individuals that labored throughout the whole project from demo to dealing with me and making our home beautiful was Jacob and Ziggy. The enthusiasm Jacob and Ziggy bring to the table is a personality trait that cannot be learnt and a skill which cannot be taught, because the two of them work like a well oiled machine, both of them deserve a RAISE. My wife and I are hoping that we can work with Siding and windows group again in the near future.

We have recently had our windows and siding done with The Siding Group and could not be happier! Greg guided us every step of the way. He helped us choose the right look for our house and pick appropriate products to help us maintain its style. We ended up using Integrity All Ultrex fiberglass windows by Marvin and James Hardie fibercement siding as well as Longboard aluminum siding for the feature walls. These products brought up the contemporary look of our house without overwhelming it. The work done was performed in a professional manner from beginning to the end with extreme attention to detail. Greg and the Siding Group performed beyond our expectations. We would recommend them without hesitation!

While we took a few days to consider our options, he was always available to answer questions. Siding & Windows Group recently completed a project to install James Hardie siding, trim, soffit and fascia on our 88 year-old home in a northern suburb of Chicago. They also installed new gutters and downspouts and replaced the roof of our detached garage. Siding & Windows Group did an outstanding job and I would highly recommend them to anyone considering undertaking a Hardie Board installation. The work crew paid very close attention to every detail, worked long hours when needed and was meticulous in the installation. They spent considerable time and effort cleaning up the property each night and were friendly to work with. Our project manager, Julie, was on-site nearly every day and kept us informed of the progress and what to expect next. The owner of the company, Greg, was also involved in the project and was very accommodating of scope changes and "add-ons" during the project. We have received compliments from nearly every neighbor about the improvement in the appearance of our home. I would not consider calling anyone else for a project that could be performed by Siding & Windows. They are a James Hardie Elite Preferred Contractor and they have earned their designation with quality work at competitive prices. They did an excellent job.

The James Hardie board siding and installation looks very good. The crew, Jacob and Ziggy, modified their schedule to accommodate an exterminator to identify carpenter ants and to exterminate bees in an eve. The crew did a very good job and acted on our requests.

From our first meeting with Bart, I was impressed at how knowledgeable their personnel was. From selecting the color, to choosing the plank exposure and texture, Bart was spot on with his recommendations. For folks considering to replace or install new siding, you only have one choice. It most definitely is this company. Their references are unimpeachable and number in the hundreds around the Chicago area. You do not have to take my word or theirs. You can go, drive by, and evaluate the workmanship yourself. I interviewed three Angie's List preferred companies and selected Windows and Siding Group, LTD specifically because of their extensive documented references as well as all of the homes that we were able to visit and see for ourselves. My dad was in the trades. He was a union carpenter specializing in trim carpentry mostly. As such I grew up with an appreciation for quality craftsmanship. This can have its repercussions however. When I purchased my home, a Craftsman-Style home built in 1903, I set out to restore it to its former glory. What I definitely did not want to do was renovate it. Yes, restoration is different. It respects the period architecture, and ensures timelessness. Because of my dad's work, I am an extremely difficult customer to work with because I demand excellence. Having said that, not once did I need to inject myself into the project other than for the occasional opinion as to what my preference might be. All minor stuff. The crew was always professional, courteous, and displayed a warm attitude. Their competence was nothing short of impressive. That is to say the least, very refreshing, as I have fired many a contractor half-way through a project. Many companies unfortunately work hastily, cutting corners, and slapping siding on as quickly as possible to maximize profit. Not these guys. Not only did they take their time paying attention to details, they came to work early and left after sundown. They worked tirelessly through temperatures in the low twenties. They cleaned up after themselves every day and worked around us always mindful of the homes inhabitants, including the dogs. With respect to the product, James HardiePlank Fiber Cement Siding, it is unmatched for its beauty and durability. But that's only half the story. You also need a quality installer to render the product worthy of its reputation. My home has many odd angles and nooks typical of a Craftsman home built at the turn of the century. If miters can be considered beautiful, theirs were breathtaking. If you desire old world craftsmanship at a very affordable, and very competitive price point, you have to consider this company. Their work should be featured in trade publications such as "This Old House" and similar industry journals. Its that good. Although, you guys were here only a few days, I will miss Wes pulling up in his red truck, smiling as always, greeting us with his European accented "Good Morning", eager to take on the days challenges. We are extremely happy with the vinyl siding install the Siding Group did on our house and garage. The guys worked ceaselessly through some shockingly cold weather and returned to do some minor touch-up work the following week. I'm delighted with the work the Siding Group did for us. I was looking for someone to install cement siding (e.g. Hardie Board) as well as cedar siding and shakes. I'd been impressed by the work they'd done on another house nearby. I got a bid from them as well as from two other contractors, and I went to look at houses all the contractors had worked on. In terms of the price, the bids were very close. What impressed me about the Siding Group, though, was Hubert's attention to detail in the process of assembling the bid. I'm picky and there were a lot of details (not all of them conventional) that I wanted to be just so. Hubert discussed them all at length with me and helped me to come up with the best materials / techniques to realize them. He even helped me to tweak things a couple of times after I'd signed the contract. Greg got involved in the project later, once the work started. As with Hubert, I felt strongly that he wanted to do all he could to make sure I was as happy as possible with the result. The same was true of the two guys, Jakob and Janusz, who did the actual work. They checked in with me about design details, were very pleasant to have around, and did a meticulous job. As I said, I'm delighted with how it turned out. I would--and am!--enthusiastically recommending them to anyone looking for a contractor to do siding or window work. (I'm waiting until the spring to have some exterior painting finished up, but will post before / after photos once that is done.)

First of all, I seldom rate any company or service at the highest level. In this case, the Siding Group certainly warrants the highest level of praise - they exceeded our expectations in every area. We had Hardie Board installed on our home and garage, plus several new windows were installed. The workmanship and attention to detail were outstanding. The quote was competitive, but now that the work is complete - I consider it a bargain. Our home looks brand new!

The crew (Michael and Lester) was very professional and respectful of our home. There was no damage to our landscaping and they cleaned up at the end of each day (including sweeping the drive to ensure no nails remained). They do outstanding work.

The Siding Group are truly professional Hardie installers. After the siding replacement they did the house looks like new again. The employ skilled and caring installers and made the entire experience very satisfying. Greg and his guys did a wonderful job on our siding project. We had new gutters, cement siding, soffit's and fascia installed. It was a big project. They were very respectful of the neighborhood, cleaned up daily and even worked around our daughters nap schedule on a certain side of the house.

We have a tiny old house in Logan Square, and since buying it had dreamed of new siding to replace the awful asbestos shingle siding that it had. We also had 60 year old windows in front that were loud and drafty.
We had talked to a few contractors, but when Bart from Siding Group came to our house it was no contest. He was very helpful and friendly, and put a lot of detail and care into the bid for our project.
