Shakers Roofing and Siding

The roof replacement experience with Dan Shaker was nothing short of excellent and refreshing. I do not live in Maine and he worked with me sight unseen and trusted me, just as I had to trust him. I was not disappointed....on the contrary.

1. He gave me an outstanding quote, one I could not say no to.
2. He did not require a down payment (no money up front). That required quite a leap of faith on his part, and I'm happy to say I wasn't disappointed - nor was he.
3. Because I live out of state now, we were able to work out the payment to go straight into his business account. No hassles.
4. Warranty for workmanship is lifetime and is transferable to new owners.
5. GAF life-time architectural shingles were installed. I picked the color and he did the rest. This is also transferable to new owners.

The finished product is beautiful (although I have only seen the pictures), but tenants are very pleased and friends have driven by to tell me what a great job they did. There were some stray nails, but they immediately returned to take care of it and made sure it was pristine.
I highly recommend Shaker Roofing and Siding. They were pleasant to work with and got the job done in the timeframe they promised and at the right price. Nowadays customer satisfaction and pricing is something we treasure. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

8/29/2022. After submitting my initial raving review, I asked Dan Shaker for a final invoice showing my payment and his guarantee (warranty) that will be transferred to the new owners of the property per the Purchase Sales Agreement. Sadly, I was sent a very nasty text stating he had spent enough time on my roof, and he wasn't gong to spend another minute worrying about something that isn't necessary. This is disconcerting because if his only concern is the initial install, what happens when there is a problem afterwards and it doesn't get honored because there is no paperwork. So, although I was and am genuinely happy with the new roof, I hope the new owners will not have problems with it or him. This brought my rating down several notches.

Shakers did our log cabin roof. Out of the 3 quotes I received this is the only company that told me they would make sure our decking is in great condition before putting metal on over it AND their pricing was more competitive then those who wanted to cut corners. Many companies out there can do a roof but not everyone does it right like shakers. Not to mention the final result was beautiful and they cleaned up very well. I’m happy to give them my business and would refer others to them as well.

We had Shakers do our siding, roof, and most windows. The price was outstanding and it looks great. Phil the foreman was here the most and he was especially hard working, friendly, and professional.

Dan offered several options to repair and restore our very old, leaky roof in the middle of winter. He helped us select the right shingle color, drip edge type and color; removed rotten plywood and even repaired cedar shingles on the 3 dormers. He also redid the flashing on the chimney.
The roof looks amazing and its a great upgrade. All of this while staying true to his original quote. Thank you Dan and crew!!!

Can't say enough about Dan Shaker and his Company and crew. Polite, clean, respectful, on time, very very reasonably priced. And most of all Honest. He has done alot of repairs and work for me, 100% trustworthy. Definitely worth the call.

I had a sizble amout of siding ripped off of my home during high winds. After calling about 5 other contractors and getting nowhere I came across Shakers. Let me tell you that I'm glad I did, they were very quick with their response and they came and fixed the siding promptly! They were polite and did amazing work! I will definitely use them again if need be and I cannot recommend them enough!

We just had our shed roof done by Shaker's and we could not be happier. These men work extremely hard, give quality work, on time and left the property very clean. Super happy with them.

I called Shaker Roofing (Dan) on Wednesday morning- he was very professional and offered to come later that morning to do an estimate... his estimate was for several extras/upgrades and was $1,500 & $4,800 less than the other 2 estimates and he could start the job that Friday. He and his crew arrived as promised on Friday set up and got to work. He crew are some of the hardest workers I’ve seen. Played close attention to deal and did a great job! They worked on both Saturday and Sunday to complete the job. Once the job was completed the crew worked diligently to clean up and left the area as they found it. We’re extremely happy with the results! We highly recommend Shaker Roofing.

Failed to flash where roof meets siding. Argumentative when questioned. Bill will balloon because "quoted price does not include material". Promised to return and finish job. 4 months later he responds to review but does not complete flashing. His full bill was paid, so as expected he did not return to finish flashing as he promised.

Very much appreciate the quality and professionalism of the team. They called when not able to make it due to weather and cleaned up all trash after the job was done. I would highly recommend this company to anyone needing a top notch roofer. Thank you again.

Mr. Shaker came out the day after I called. He quickly figured out what was needed and gave me an estimate. The following day his crew was on the job. They worked nonstop in nasty winter weather, fixing several bad spots and doing the job right. The price was pretty steep, but what you'd expect for skilled work. I'd have them back any time.

I called Shakers to come replace a few shingles that had been blown off during a wind storm. When I did not want the work to be done because the price was more than I could afford I was berated and told never to call them again.

p.s In response to the owners reply. I did not ask him to lower his cost. I am a single widow on a fixed income and called Shakers to come look at my predicament. When I was told the cost, I simply told him that I have a family member that might be able to do it. He did not say, "Please don't call us back". He was angry, rude, and unprofessional. By the way..my house is a small Cape.

Excellent overall. Got a really good quote for my homes & porch roof. The final price didn't change. From the start, once the crew arrived to my home they immediately got to work. They kept my yard clean of debris by laying down tarps and were very professional throughout the project. I will absolutly use them again in the future when my garage needs attention.

My house has been through alot over the winters. I noticed leaking in my kitchen and bathroom and I called a few companies, got quotes then finally spoke to a man named Daniel shaker. I got a very fair quote and had an amazing job done quite quickly.This company has my fivestars. The thing that made me the most happy was that some of wood on the roof was destroyed and they showed me it and replaced it for free!! Go shakers!!!

Tried to do my own, wasn't working out, called Dan at Shaker, he came right out, had crew here in 2 hours. Saved my behind, thank you, would highly recommend Shaker honest and courteous. Update, called Friday about replacing the rubber on the back side, they were here Saturday and finished it. Wow ! Great job.
