Scratch Builders constructed a 22x36 timber frame barn for us this past July and we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. From the early design work to inviting us up to the sawmill to watch our timbers being cut, to the raising, Evan was a pleasure to work with, knowledgeable and easily solved any challenges. Scratch Builders design/build of 30' x 30' two story barn with shed roof. Open first story with a W18 x 45 I beam supporting second story floor and roof. A simple and robust superstructure design with large frame bays to accommodate unlimited glazing options for passive solar gain. Circumferential 3' overhangs for summer shade and to keep precipitation off the siding. Design went through a few changes to incorporate the steel for the clear span first floor space, stair case and a large center window on second story. Very satisfied on design process, construction and final product.

So happy with the timberframe that Evan crafted for my wife and I. Totally impressed with the craftsmanship and how it’s held up over time. This is not a cookie cutter business. Evan is easy to work with, and will take the time to personalize your project with most anything that you can envision. I couldn’t be happier with our project!
