Great small town hardware store. A little on the expensive side. But close by and the people are very friendly

Martin's has been a local institution for decades and generations. Their staff is friendly, personable and willing to help. Only thing I've seen change since the Aubuchon's take over is a reduction of stock of some basic items that they used to carry.

However, still my "go to" place as the people there definitely take care of you and offer alternatives sometimes better than the original idea.

It’s convenient to have a hardware store in our town but the prices are so high compared to the competition that you end up traveling to middlebury or Vergennes anyway. It’s hard to understand why they need to be this overpriced. I understand they can’t get and sell goods as cheap as say, Walmart or Lowe’s , but we just priced plywood which was $74 a sheet for the same sheet that is $33 a sheet at RK Miles in middlebury. My husband and I often make a game of this when we are going through the store. Sometimes items are 3 or 4 times the price of other stores. It works in a pinch but I sure wish they would price a little more competitively for the good people of Bristol. Ultimately we usually go elsewhere for our hardware store needs.

Friendly store with very personalized service. A good variety of inventory in the store with a seemingly happy work force. I feel welcome to come back and contribute more business.

Great little spot in a pinch for any supplies you need if you live close to Bristol, but too far from any of the Lowes or Home Depots. Surprising amount of stuff packed into their aisles and fairly helpful employees who know what they're talking about, which I miss about MOST (not all) big box stores.

Stuff is a little higher priced, but not obscenely so, and it's supporting a local community. Consider it a donation if you're spending a whopping $1 more for an item (or a convenience seeing as how the gas to get you to Lowes will cost you more than that!).

Good amount of basic mulch and topsoil at decent prices too, nice for setting up that spring garden.

The only con I can think of is that their larger equipment (lawn mowers, snow blowers, etc.) are pretty out of budget. I imagine it's hard to compete with big box stores about to buy in bulk of 100+

I go here for chicken and pig feed and that's it, but only so I don't have to go to tractor supply. Not only does everything cost twice what it does at other places I got a loyalty coupon that I tried to use today and was told it had expired two days after I received it... What a lousy policy. And this time for the first time ever I got attitude from the new face working in the loading dock area because I didn't back my car up close enough for him to put the bag of feed in there even though I offer to do it myself every time and it's only an extra 10 ft and I'm not going to back my car up blind around the corner against a loading door where there could be lifts coming out or who knows what. I'd keep giving them my business if I at least felt like I was getting a positive experience in some way but I can't think of anything good to say.

Friendly staff and pricing is reasonable. Sure you can find better pricing on some things on line but if you’re on your way to the hardware store you need it now and Martins will probably have it!

The parking lot was a bit empty and the doors were locked..probably due to the fact that it was almost 8pm and and I was only biking by. Thank you Google for suggesting I review them anyways. Lol.

This place is great. Tge cost is higher than tge big box stores but is worth the cost to save your drive time. Also they know their products and have an excellent knowledgeable staff that is kind and willing to help you with anything you might need!

Very nice place to do business. They are very helpful. This hardware store has alot of things and is bigger than you would think.
