Customer reviews reflect a mixed sentiment regarding Sasser Construction, with a notable divide between positive and negative experiences. Many clients praise the team's communication, professionalism, and responsiveness throughout the building process, highlighting the personal attention given by project managers. However, several complaints cite significant issues with follow-up and unresolved punch list items, leading to frustration among some customers. The delivery of homes and post-construction support appears to be inconsistent, contributing to a cautious perception of the service overall.

- I have not had the same experience with Eric Sasser and his team.

Sasser built my home in 2020. I was recently widowed and unfamiliar with home construction, which I shared with him. I asked his advice on crawlspace or raised slab and he preferred the raised slab. Three months after moving in the back ups began. The plumber was contacted and I was told it was probably just hair. After several of attempts at locating the problem, I was advised to call Atomic Plumbing to have the pipes viewed. After viewing the pipes and measuring the pitch it was determined the pitch was off. During these in between times, there were several instances of actual sewage, backing up and overflowing into the main living areas. The bathtub and all toilets would overflow while I was showering. This caused sewage to flow out and soak the master bedroom carpet and the surrounding baseboards. Every time this occurred, I was left to scrub and scrape up dried sewage on my hands and knees. I never spoke to Eric during these times only Kelly. Finally I hired an attorney. Once Eric received the legal documents, he was banging on my door to talk about it. I gave him one final attempt to fix the problem which involved several days of breaking up the concrete slab in my laundry room. On Christmas morning, 2023, another back up occurred. My mistake was assuming just because he was a well-known builder in an established neighborhood I would be taken care of. In actuality, I was taken advantage of. For the entire three years I was told “we really don’t know what is wrong”. The mental torture I endured was horrible!!! In the end he purchased the house back. However, I had added landscaping, a pond, gutter guards, automated window, treatments, wallpaper, window tinting, and many lighting upgrades. I had added over $100,000 in extras. Needless to say he re-purchased it well below what I had invested in my
“retirement home”. His greed and lack of empathy are sickening. I really hope this never happens to anyone else!

Eric and his team provided excellent service throughout our build process, from the architect, project manager, and interior designer. What stood out most is how Eric wanted to make sure our vision was captured in the design. Building a house is a process, and could not have asked for a better group of people. Special thanks to Ray and Kelly for managing all of the changes and keeping everything on track. We absolutely love the home and Sasser helped bring our dream to life.

We have done several makeover/gut job and flips in our lifetime….so this was our first New Build experience.
From the very beginning, when discussing our ideas for a potential Sasser home with Eric, he was a very personable and an excellent listener, who was eager to help us reach our goals, and try to keep us within budget…. Eric was always responsive and truly kind to us every time we have had to interact via email or in person.
Mark Edwards was also very helpful especially when I first reached out with questions. He even did a drone video at the beginning of the build, and plans on doing another one of the finished property once the weather turns a little warmer. So…be on the lookout for it on his YouTube channel. I bet you did not know that there’s even a road named after him in NC!! LOL
Kelly and Morgan are always friendly faces on the front lines (i.e., office). Pretty quick to reply to emails/phone calls too. And may I even add that Kelly was quite the helpful designer, offering tips and suggestions during the overwhelming design selection process. Who would have thought that from choosing hardware to window grids would be such a difficult task? Don’t forget your light bulbs color temps too! Yes. . . There’s a big difference in the color of the light bulb temps! Paint undertones, direction of house positioning (South Facing vs North facing) . . Light bulb color temps…..Where’s the Tylenol??? Who needs Tylenol when you have Kelly?
At the beginning, Kelly gave us a ginormous three ring binder that served as a guide during the marathon of a journey. Pay attention to her graph of the emotional roller coaster that you can expect to go through during the phases of your build. It was pretty much on pointe with our range of emotions too.
Our project manager, Ray, pays attention to detail and is always very polite to us, even when we have 100 questions or concerns. . . He never seemed irritated with us. In fact, he actually appreciated when we would bring something to his attention. Even went to bat for us on more than one occasion when dealing with a few subcontractors. For example, when they said something couldn’t be done, Ray showed them a way to do it!! Turned out better than imagined! Ray is always concerned about symmetry which is one of my top priorities in the design process. Not only paying attention to symmetry and details, but also teaching us the importance of having Curves!!! LoL.
All of the subcontractors did a great job; there are quite a few that stood out to us . . Mike and his team from Bay Cabinetry, and Katie and her team from United Turf LLC really helped to make our home standout!! The guys that did the stonework were top notch as well! So helpful, creative and talented at what they do! Teamwork is the DreamHouse!
We just moved in about a month ago, so there’s some items on the punch list that still need to be taken care of; but if Ray’s track record thus far is any indication of the speed and thorough work to complete the punch items, we know it won’t be long before that’s done.
This is not the end, just a little “To Be Continued” as the punch list gets taken care of. . .
But overall very satisfied!
PS. . . Remember the ketchup commercial from a long time ago? The BEST things DO come to those who wait. . . It may take a little longer to complete your home, but the end result will be worth it, and your dreams will have come true.

The average roof replacement cost for a residential home typically ranges from $7,000 to $15,000, depending on factors such as roof size, chosen materials, roof pitch, and labor rates in your area. Premium materials or complex designs may increase the price.
The cost to replace the roof of a commercial building typically ranges from $5 to $12 per square foot, depending on several factors such as roof size, material, labor rates, building type, and local code requirements.
Several factors influence roof repair cost, including the extent of the damage, roof accessibility, material type, labor costs, and whether it’s a general repair or an emergency fix. Minor repairs can start around $150–$400, while major repairs may exceed $1,500.
Roof leak repair cost generally ranges from $300 to $800, depending on the size and location of the leak, the materials required, and labor intensity. Complex leaks involving structural repairs or interior damage will cost more.
Flat roof repair cost for commercial properties usually ranges from $500 to $3,000, depending on the roofing material (TPO, EPDM, PVC), the extent of the damage, and roof accessibility.
Mobile home roof replacement cost typically ranges from $3,000 to $8,000, making it generally more affordable than traditional home roof replacements, due to smaller size and simpler structure.
It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.
The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.
To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.
Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.
When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.
Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
