Sage builders have completed 2 roof replacements for my family over the last several recent years. 2 years ago, if you asked me about my experience, I would say they were top notch. As things go problems started to arise, which happens (we can't always be available to watch over our workers). A professional company would address the issue and determine if it was the fault of employees or an act of god and fix the issue with with some possible charges based on the determination.
This is not the case with Sage. First, if you can get them to answer the phone or call you back, they will fill you full of excuses and missed times to show up to your property. Then, when you try calling from your typical number there's no answer, but use a spouse's phone and suddenly they answer.
Needless to say, after months of waiting, we hired another contractor to fix what was wrong with the roof. The result was improper installation of the product, but like I said earlier these things happen and professionals fix the issue. So if you like people that break appointments and probably block the phone number from a concerned customer, then Sage Builders is the contractor for you!
ETA: We have only ever worked with Nate. Perhaps their other owner/employees care more about their customer service, but in our experience, Nate did not.

These guys were recommended by my insurance agent, who I called because I wanted someone decent to help us out and didn’t know where to start. I know my agent has experience with contractors. I was amazed at the professionalism and promptness of Justin when I called for an estimate for a roof leak. I was so excited to be in contact with someone who seemed so on top of things. He was very specific about exactly what was wrong and what needed done to fix the issue. He assured me they could do the roof repairs AND the interior drywall repairs. I couldn’t believe my luck!

Justin was all about me making an insurance claim even though I suspected and communicated with him I didn’t believe it was a claim. He gave me the name of the specific claims adjuster I should speak with, answered texts and calls immediately, and even showed up to my home within 15 minutes of a text when my adjuster came to check out the issue. I did what he asked.

As soon as it was clear the job wouldn’t be an insurance claim he was suddenly ‘super nervous to work on that roof’ and didn’t know ‘if he could dare dig into it’. So at this point I’m totally confused. Kind of blown away to be honest. Justin did offer to consult the owner of Sage but stated he’s ‘not sure he’d be in a rush messing with it’ whatever that means.

I’ve spoken with several contractors since my communication with Justin and many have said this is a thing with some local contractors who won’t do jobs unless they can over charge insurance. I don’t know much about this but it seems pretty bizarre, the change of tone after Justin met with my adjuster and was told the issue is not covered by insurance. So that’s my experience with these guys.

This company is amazing. The crew was very quick, everything was cleaned up better than when they started. We appreciated the professional advice on choosing the right roof for our house. It looks fantastic. I would highly recommend Sage Builders.

Nate and Justin are incredible. Fast, efficient, stays within the budget. You cannot find a better contracting team anywhere. I highly recommend. them. An underrated quality is their communciation skills - simply A+.

I have not yet had Sage Builders do any work for me. Rather, I asked if they could just take a look to see if we had damage or if anything needed work. Justin came out the same day and shortly after I called. He was quick and efficient, but I especially appreciated his complete honesty. In a world where lying has become the new norm, a business with employees who reflect complete integrity is deeply impressive. When we do need roof work done down the road, my first call will definitely be to Justin and Sage Builders.

*2021 UPDATE: Sage Builders just did a complete tear-off and re-shingle of our roof and we couldn't be happier with the results. They really did a great job and we feel we definitely got our money's worth. I very highly recommend.
