Jorge and his team did a great job. They installed a new stainless steal chimney flue, damper, and resealed the cap. They were very responsive to my questions and requests. They completed the work quickly and left no mess behind. Their price was lower than the other quotes I got and the quality of the work looks great. I recommend.

Jorge was excellent to work with. The team cleaned and inspected our chimney along with verifying that our gas log was working properly. Other companies had stated that a chimney cap would have to be custom built. Jorge determined the manufacturer of our flue tile and found a chimney cap to fit it without needing a custom cap. The team was very nice, informing us of each step they were completing. I would highly recommend Safe Fire Chimney for any chimney needs.

The Safe Fire team pretty much renovated the entire 50 year old gas fireplace system in my house from hearth to chimney support on the roof. Excellent work and I’m very happy with the results. I’m quite late on this review, but better late than never. We bought a house at the end of June where the previous owners for almost 20 years never used the fireplace nor maintained it. We knew we had a ton of work to get back in working order. My wife and I completed a lot of research for a vendor and asked around on who to use for the pending work. Let’s just say I’m glad we picked Jorge and his crew. They made it easy to understand all the “why’s”, seamless process, prompt, and attention to detail. After the initial survey, they were onsite within the week to begin and completed in about 3 days. The transformation of the fireplace was quite something. While there are still some minor things to complete, and no fault to them, Jorge continues to stay engaged and really wants to provide top level service and quality work. We needed a fireplace overhaul and Jorge at Safe Fire was the perfect choice. He and his guys checked the fireplace and chimney, cleaned it and told us what needed to be done. Jorge quoted a price, we picked out logs and his guys were back in a week to fix everything. Manny and his guys were as sweet and responsible as Jorge. This company was a great choice.

Very responsive and customer focused. Did a great job clearing a blockage in my furnace exhaust vent, when several other companies were unable to do the work. Came back out the next day to check some accidental ceiling drywall damage that occurred during their work in my attic, and immediately made it right. Highly recommend.

I highly recommend Safe Fire for chimney/flue related needs. We have a wood burning fireplace (through a flue as opposed to brick), so we called Safe Fire out to replace the liner & chimney cap during the course of a re-roofing project. They also replaced the furnace flue for us. Jorge & Brayan were great to work with, they were very responsive, communicated very effectively, and did everything they said they were going to do. It's hard to find good quality contractors to service residential end users these days. I didn't like the manufacturer's finish on the chimney surrounds, so Safe Fire painted them after installation was complete and the result was fantastic. Great guys, Great Company!

Jorge and Brayan did an excellent job breathing new life into the previously wood burning fireplace in our new home. I decided to start with an inspection and cleaning based on the excellent reviews I saw here on Google. From that initial visit, their professionalism and skill was on full display. They showed me an issue that my home inspectors had missed (a cracked chimney cap, non-functioning upper damper) and came up with a plan to fix it for an affordable rate. I also wanted them to convert my fireplace from wood-burning to a gas-log system, the price to do so was also very fair. Throughout the entire process, they treated my home as if it was their own. They took pictures of every step to show and explain to me, cleaned up the worksite meticulously when they were done, and most importantly, made my fireplace functional and safe. I will continue to have them out yearly to maintain it as long as I own the home.

These guys are amazing!! The chimney on my 1923 home was crumbling. Not only did they do a total tear down and rebuild (beautifully!) the chimney.. they also ran a stainless steel liner down the chimney, preventing further damage to my chimney and my home. Jorge Delacruz from Safe Fire Chimney and Fireplace provided excellent service. He communicated often and with clarity on times he had available and prior to coming. After inspecting and cleaning our fireplace/ chimney- he clearly explained why we should consider improving the Firebox, back panel, gas starter and add a guard screen outside to keep critters out. We agreed we needed this done. Jorge contacted us to follow up on this plan and even added a discounted price. Jorge is friendly, easy going, and professional. Don't just settle for a company that merely cleans your chimney, but instead contact Jorge. He will go above and beyond cleaning with his careful inspection. Additionally, Jorge provided us with photos of areas of concern and then his work, A before and after snapshot of what he accomplished.

We had a woodburning fireplace that was well used for 27 years. Eventually it became unusable due to a hole being burned into the firebox and a gas leak in the key. We couldn't use it at all for the last several years. Safe Fire was recommended to me by my sister and I was thinking about gas logs so I gave them a call. Best decision I ever made by far! Jorge recommended someone to fix the gas and gave us a quote for the rest of the work. We have a brand new firebox and love the gas logs we chose. The guys who came in to do the work were very friendly and professional. They explained everything they were doing and why. We felt very comfortable and informed! We are beyond happy with our new fireplace! Highly recommend!

I couldn’t light the pilot on my Waterford gas cast iron stove and I am truly addicted to it so I wanted to get a technician out asap. Everyone I contacted was booked for months and then I got a call from George at Sage Fire . He came out the next day and got my fireplace going and I am so thankful! He said it was a community service that his company did for people . What an amazing gesture of kindness and generosity. I recommend this company highly!

Safe Fire Chimney &Fireplace services did an excellent job with the work they did on my house. They cleaned the chimney and I knew I had some cracked bricks in the firebox. They took the time to explain what the issue was and then how much it would cost. When they were done there was no mess. The quote that they gave me was what I paid. No up charges or hidden costs. After getting several estimates, we decided to use Safe Fire Chimney for service to our current home, our house flip, and again hired them to clean & inspect fireplaces at my parent's home in Palatine as well. Both 'Jorges' at this company are awesome to work with, each gave me the time to explain our needs, address our concerns and clarified any outstanding issues. I also selected them for service because they were more thorough with their initial inspection and only advised repairs that were needed, where some other businesses added unnecessary work to our estimate. This company is the BEST! I requested a cleaning and inspection of my woodstove because I haven’t used it in a few years. There were a couple of issues with the chimney outside, then Jorge went up into the attic to inspect from inside. Turns out the roofer I used 9 years ago installed combustibles - wood beams (possibly actual support beams) and insulation - right up against the stovepipe. I had no idea! I have used the woodstove several times since the roof was done and could easily have burned down the house, or worse. Thank you so much, Jorge!

We got our fireplace inspected and cleaned, we hadn’t used it yet since we bought the house. Jorge explained things to us about our fireplace and helped us feel more confident in using it. We got the animal guard installed on the chimney as well as some safety updates to the fireplace itself. Jorge, Joel and Billy were all very helpful and courteous, good, clean work, and they got us scheduled right away which was very appreciated because we called a different place and were given a very long wait time and some attitude from the first place we called. We finally lit our first fire tonight and it’s great! Happy we found safe fire, thank you!

VERY HAPPY I called Jorge for an estimate on chimney!! He inspected the chimney and coming out later for removal, as I have gone with a different plan to exhaust the new tankless water heater.

I desperately needed tuck pointing OR possibly a chimney rebuild (from the roof up) on my 1881 victorian farmhouse in East Dundee.

Although I don't have a fireplace inside the house, the chimney is used to exhaust the hot water heater from the basement and I didn't want to remove the chimney and replace it with some type of modern pipe as some do. I felt that removing the brick chimney would result in losing the historic charm of the house.

So, I talked to Jorge D and Jorge R at Safe Fire Chimney (SF&C) and they walked me through my options. They supplied a quick quote with detailed photos of the inspection and what they would do for the job! Even though the pricing was fair and comparable to quotes I received from other chimney companies that have been in business for much longer, I went with SF&C because I feel they really went the extra mile during the quote process.

Jorge and company make it a point to explain what is wrong with your chimney/masonry in terms you can understand. They are efficient, punctual, professional and exceptionally clean. This is an excellent company to do business with.

I first called Jorge when my attic fan cover blew off. They showed up quickly and while this was not a service in their wheelhouse, he covered the open hole temporarily and recommended another provider who was a roofer. While up there he noticed a lot of issues with our chimney. We hired him in the Spring to fix and he was very thorough and reasonable. Extremely friendly and trustworthy. I highly recommend them.

Joel from Safe Fire recently came and restored the main chimney on my 3 story house and did a fantastic job. The service he provided was carried out with great care and precision. They were responsive to all of my inquiries and the customer service they provided was amazing. I just had Safe Fire complete a major project on my chimney and fireplace and I am so impressed by the excellent work they did.

I had looked for someone to do this job last year in the late fall of 2022, everyone I tried to contact either never called me back or wanted a substantial down payment to do the job. Considering that the work wasn't going to start for six months, handing over that much money and waiting to have the job start the following Spring was concerning. Safe Fire came out, inspected my fireplace and chimney, took pictures, explained what needed to be repaired, gave me a detailed written quote, and contracted to do the job with a down payment that was 1/10th of what others were asking. They took extra precautions to tarp my chimney over the winter before the job was started to prevent further problems with leaking, structure crumbling, and birds trying to nest.

Fast forward to the date we had agreed to start the job and they were here working right on time. If I had any questions or concerns, I was encouraged to ask and Jorge always got back to me immediately. They communicate and listen to their customers.

Outside my chimney had to be rebuilt from the roof up, they went the extra mile to find the best matching brick for this project. They started the job as planned and notified me everyday as to what time they would arrive to start working via text message. They had to work around my perennial gardens and were very careful not to cause any damage during the tear down and reconstruction.

I cannot say enough good things about how happy I am that I used Safe Fire to do this job. It's rare to find such dedication to the customer and high quality of work as I experienced from this company. One in a million, highly recommended.

At short notice, we asked Safe Fire Chimney & Fireplace to inspect a chimney on a home we were in the process of buying. The home had already had a home inspection but the chimney was still a concern. They were on time, professional, thorough and during their inspection uncovered a major safety issue with the fireplace which would have cost us a considerable amount of money to have repaired properly and brought up to code. I called for a routine service of my gas fireplace. Jorge came out and did the service but he discovered a major problem and fire hazard. In presenting the solutions he simply offered suggestions, no pressure. He had a wonderful knowledge of my situation and how to rectify. I was given 2 options and no pressure ..just the facts.
I decided to just have the entire fireplace innards replaced. Jorge and Ryan arrive on time and completed the entire project in 3 hours.
I could not be more impressed and pleased with the results. Esthetically and functionally it turned out better than I could have imagined. They were respectful of my home and careful wearing booties.

Problem: The damper was stuck and would not open or close. Solution: Jorge called asking if they could come earlier than the appointment time, which was great. When they arrived, he showed his business card, put on shoe covers, and placed covering on the floor before opening the fireplace; within five minutes, he had Solved the problem. The damper had come off the tracks. After fixing the problem, he showed how he correctly opens and closes a damper. Above and beyond what I expected. The cost of the inspection quoted was $180. I jokingly said, “you solved the problem in five minutes, and it cost me $180. The professional who came out was the company's co-founder and knocked off $80. Excellent service up and down. I recommend Safe Fire Chimney.

Pete and Joel were very professional during my entire interaction with them. I had a chimney inspected as part of the home buying process. They were able to show me the issues with the chimney through pictures and explain exactly what needed to be done to get back in working order and prevent further water damage to the roof.
