Rydel just finished my roof last week using Iko Dynasty in Cornerstone colour. They did a fantastic job. Their on-site team was great. Weather created some delays but thats nature and we have no control over that. Communications with the company were top notch and timely and gave you a personal feel. And, having the 20-year warranty on the job is a great piece of mind! Would not hesitate to recommend the company.

We had an amazing experience with Rydel Roofing! They replaced our roof and skylight all in one day on April 17th, and the whole process was seamless. Mack was incredibly helpful—he answered all our questions and made everything easy to understand. The Rydel team replaced an asphalt roof for me in Perth ON the last week of April. The job was done on time and according to the original estimate. Work quality was excellent and communication from their team was fantastic as this was a commercial property requiring parking to be temporarily suspended with tenants. All went perfectly. We were very pleased with Rydel. Their communication was timely and clear, and the father-son crew they sent to do our roof arrived at the crack of dawn and were finished by late afternoon. We are so thrilled with how our new roof, soffit, facia and eaves turned out. Could not have been a better experience from start to finish. We really gave this team a lot of obstacles between budget, dealing with layers upon layers that were 30+ years old, dealing with our insane work travel schedule, to bees, to very sad and lonely barn cats (they get all the love and attention in the world, but if you ask the cats, they're deprived).

The crew were a great group of guys that always gave me a laugh whenever I would come home to find my Halloween skeleton in different hilarious positions, always waving at the entryway steps to welcome us, sometimes even holding roofing nails. Too cute - Thanks for that, boys! It's the little things in life that matter the most, and this experience certainly brought out quite a few of those positive moments.

The payment system they have in place for virtual drafts is EPIC. Truly a huge fan of that, particularly again with our work travel schedule, it made getting things settled up quick and easy without having to find time to get to a bank and then have the x amount of day wait for both sides to confirm you're you, etc.

Overall - 11/10. Thank you, team. As much as we like you.. we hope not to see you for another 50 years!!! Hehe

WORST ROOFING COMPANY IN OTTAWA , It’s all sub contracted work , they worked on a few of my properties what a huge mistake that was , they’re actual
Workers only come in after to fix all the sub contractors garbage work they did. I strongly don’t recommend them to anyone!!!!!!! Pure scammers.

This was an excellent experience! It started out with a very professional estimate and company briefing provided by Mac. He then scheduled everything to ensure that the project would proceed without any glitches. The crew showed up on time and performed flawlessly. This is the first time that I have had a major job done on my home without something being messed up. All of my expectations were exceeded, and the roof is beautiful! Best of all, Mac returned to perform a thorough inspection when the job was completed, which really boosted my confidence that my new roof would provide years of trouble-free service. Sloppy work. This crew is doing my neighbours roof and I expected the odd piece of scrap or trash to come my way, not a big deal - but I don't appreciate them dropping cutoffs with five 3 1/2" nails sticking out onto our patio where my kids and dog play. Or if it happens, just come pick it up. While you're at it, come grab the cigarette butts you keep tossing into my yard too, and grab the 20-30 butts on the curb in front of the house while you're at it. If you're site is a mess, I bet the quality of your work is too.

Nic, the sales rep was easy to deal with, and the business owner/project manager, Mack, was just as great.

I live 50 minutes from my rental property and the thought of having to attend the property that week to deal with a roof problem was unbearable given that I was already up to my eyeballs in other responsibilities and committments that week.

Mack made the process of booking and securing his company's services, easy as pie, and I didn't even have to leave my home office to get the job booked and the roof replaced.

The ceiling in the home was also leaking a little at the time, so I couldn't wait weeks to get the roof replaced. I needed service ASAP.

Mack pulled some strings and was out to fix my roof in a matter of days and made it a priority to wateroroof the roof immediately to prevent further leaking or damage. The job was booked and the roof was 100% replaced in a matter of 4 days in the middle of their busy season (July).

It would be impossible to receive better and more prompt service than what I received and I couldn't be happier or more impressed. They even left behind extra shingles in my garage in case of any future minor repairs that may be required.

Their price was incredibly competitive and they even installed higher quality shingles and materials than what the competition offered. They provided the service for virtually the same price despite providing a superior product within a faster timeline than what the competition could provide.

I am a very busy person so the fact that Rydel Roofing provided such amazing service so easily, and made it 100% stress free for me at a very fair price, means I have found my go to roofing company.

I needed my roof redone and Rydel was the first company I reached out to. They were very responsive and got my roof replaced in no time.

Very professional job of my split level roof following this summer's tornado. There were no surprises and I highly recommend Rydel's staff. This was a great experience as my house was damaged in July's tornados in Barrhaven, Ottawa.
Prior to contacting Rydel for a quote, I spoke a number of vendors and got either outragious quotes or the firm's asked for a deposit up front.

Coles notes: Use a different company.

Rydel Roofing is a Franchise. The one in particular that we were working with was for the Ottawa Valley. The salesman/general contractor was Mackenzie Mercier.

Rydel Roofing does not do the work on your house themselves. They subcontract everything. Doing this they avoid responsibility for just about everything that happens on your home.

The price was competitive. The timeline sounded good. The reputation seems like a good one. These are all the things that made me go with this company. Do not get sucked in by guaranteed anything. Do not take their word that they will sort things out.

We hired them to do 3 things. Replace our sizeable roof. Replace and repair the soffit and facia. Replace the eaves trough.

We hired them early June, the roof was on late November. The quality of work was, as far as I knew, great. So were the guys that did it. More to follow on this.

Following the roof being completed, we were pressured to amend our arrangement (6 mos 0%) with them on our contract to accommodate the delays in their getting the roof completed. I don’t know everything about what caused the delays, just that they happened and they weren’t our fault. We declined and asked when they were doing the soffit and fascia.

They sent two gents to our house to start the work… in Dec. we were told it would take two days… they started on the 27th and “finished” on the 12th of January. The lines are all over the place, there are ripples in the fascia and it doesn’t appear they used a level or a square to do any of it. They didn’t have the clothing for the weather they were working in, they didn’t have the tools, they didn’t have the materials. We attempted to regularly communicate our concerns and got no response. Turns out the guy managing our job was on a beach in Punta Cana. Thanks! For absolutely nothing you complete yahoo! In the end, Rydell gave us some money back on this. I should have pushed for more.

Sometime shortly after, they sent two gents to install the eaves trough. This went smoothly, and they were fantastic people, although they did comment on the quality of the work for the fascia they were attaching to.

Fast forward to spring - the snow guards attached to the roof were completely ripped off in some areas. Evidently they were not strong enough to handle the snow load on our roof. But they looked good. To Rydell’s credit, and the roofers, they came back and reinforced these. I’m not sure that they would have had it not been for the fact our contract with them had not been finalized.

In summary - the roof: great.
The soffit and fascia: will have to be completely redone.
The eaves trough will have to come off to make that happen.

Do yourself a favour. Go with literally any other company. These guys have no means by which to escalate your complaints. The fact that I ended up with a decent roof, isn’t because of Rydell roofing. The fact that I ended up with months of stress, poor communication, garbage excuses, and loads of wasted hours and effort. Rydell already has the photos.

Austin and the Rydel on-site team did an excellent job replacing my metal roof. I found the team respectful, communicative and hard working. Their work is high quality; the roof looks great. I recommend Rydel without reservation and would not hesitate to hire them in the future.

The estimate we received from Rydel was one of three from different companies. We wanted a roofing system with a long-term warranty. While pricier than the other two companies, Rydel was the only one that understood exactly what we wanted. They were able to have it properly installed and did an excellent job of cleaning up afterwards. If you need a roof system installed, we recommend Rydel Roofing.

Love my new roof. The project went as smooth as butter. The project manager (Marc) from Rydel in Outaouais was always one step ahead of me. Every daily concern or question I had, he was already working on or aware of. If I had to do it all over again, I would go with the same installer and the same product. No regrets.

Our initial experience with Rydel was very good. Last fall we had them replace our roof and install gutters on the front of our house. They offered a few different packages with competitive pricing, were transparent about which options were best value for money given our budget, and they had a shorter lead time compared to most other companies we had quote the job.

Our one minor complaint is that they missed the installation of the gutter guard and getting them to come back and perform the work was a hassle. We didn't notice the missing guard until spring when we were up cleaning windows. We reached out to them via email and their response was very slow (would be weeks between responses at times). From our initial email about the missing guard, to the completion of work, was almost 4 months.

Overall I would recommend them as our roof replacement was great, but can't give 5 stars given the issues with responsiveness for follow-up work.

We had the front façade of our home replaced using Maibec CanExcel in Barista and we couldn’t be happier. Our sale rep, Shawn, was amazing. He was communicative, helpful and went out of his way to make sure we were satisfied. The installer, Serge, showed up on time and was super efficient. His workmanship is impeccable. We would definitely recommend this company to anyone looking for services they offer.

They had me at hello...Rydel knocked on our door in the middle of winter and the young that started it all was awesome. He was professional and assure us right away that our skylights could be replaced without issues. I called Rydel Roofing during a massive storm that damaged many houses. They were able to come out first thing the next morning and fix our roof as well as many houses on our street. Thank you for the prompt and excellent service!

Hands down the worst company Ive had dealings with as a contractor. First time using their services I caught the crew burying old shingles instead of removing and discarding them. Second time using their service, their crew was arrested on site for drinking and doing drugs and had to come back three times to fix bad work. And now lastly they fumbled their estimate three times and now refuse to honour their signed estimate and are not returning my calls. They were a no show on their scheduled start date, obviously delaying my project. Ive now been waiting 5 days for a response from the company owner.

We had a great time dealing with Rydell to replace our 40 year old flat roof. Very hands on, very personable, and very attentive to our needs.

Rydel did a great job replacing siding, roof and eaves trough on an up-market home transforming if to a more modern look. They also completed repairs to the house where water damage had occurred after 35 years.
Throughout the project, communication was excellent to inform us of progress and any delays caused by weather and the inevitable Covid-19 induced disruptions.
Perhaps the most telling is that we have no need to call them back as all the finished work appears perfect. Well done!

We had our roof redone by Rydel Roofing this Spring 2021. From start to finish we were very impressed with their business practices. Starting with their project consultant, Shawn Laughren walked us through the entire process and was able to provide insight into the different shingles choices (brands) and colours.

The Rydel team worked very well together to prepare for the job and we were fortunate to have Abe as our lead roofer. He was meticulous with his work and with his clean up. With younger children it was important for us to know that he was working diligently to ensure their safety after hours (daily nail pick up, no debris left at the end of day). The team also ensured that our yard and pool were protected during the process.

Rydel roofing did an amazing job changing the shingles on my roof. I would definitely recommend. Their job was clean, on time and I had no issues. They also priced matched a different company that offered a lower quote which is great!

I reached out to Rydel and a couple of other companies to have our roof redone, and got a phone call from Rydel within a couple days. Most other companies never even returned my call. The following week, project consultant Shawn Laughren came on-site to discuss and provided us with a quote. The quote was very reasonable (way lower than another quote I had received) and Shawn was very pleasant and knowledgeable throughout the visit. We set a date for our roof to be redone right then and there as it just felt right.

Production manager Sarah Dagg was in touch throughout the process and was very pleasant and helpful. She kept us informed of progress and was always available to help if we had any issues or questions.

Our home is old. Really old. Like European old. And, while well maintained by its previous owners, some things needed to be upgraded or repaired when we moved in .

We knew that the porch roof was in need of replacement, and I spent a couple of days working through Google reviews to find the right company for the job.

Rydel Roofing was exactly the right company for the job.

Jack came out and was clear and attentive to the requirements we had. He provided full information about what we needed, why we needed it, and what Rydel would be providing.

Once we booked, Sarah was on it! Given the COVID-19 problems with supply, she got us the materials we needed, in the colour we needed, in good time, and then, despite wind, and rain (I'm tempted to add gloom of night, but it was done during the day), the job was completed.

The work was done well and professionally. The site was cleared up and tidy. My garden beds were not trampled. And we have a porch roof, looking tidy and safe, before the snow!

Great Service! I emailed in the evening asking for information on attic insulation. I receive a response very quickly the next morning that the company had discontinued the service and the employee took the time to refer me to another company. Not only was he fast to respond but he provided an alternative when he couldn’t help.

They installed my roof about 3 years ago. Last month during the heavy rain, it was discovered that there is a leak near the exhaust pipe during the weekend. After a few calls, finally got in contact with Adel and Ryan. Things finally resolved.

We decided to replace our shingle roof with metal! Shawn came out and explained features and benefits and provided us with sample set to evaluate. Kevin and his crew was punctual and well respective of our property. They worked hard, and completed both our house roof and shed in two days! Removing the old shingles and replacing with metal roof tiles. Neighbors passing by were impressed with their speed and cleanliness as they worked! Shawn is very knowledgeable, personable, and easy to work with. We’re going to use Rydel in the Spring to replace our eavestrough and downspouts to match the roof.

Changed my original Post because Adel reached out and didn’t do his proper job. do not do business with them because they didn’t follow the quote at all. How these companies are still in business, God knows. They said that they will put saddle up behind the chimney but it was never installed. I didn’t go up to check the saddle because I trusted the owner. One year later, the neighbour told me that there is no saddle because they paid half of the cost. Now we paid so much money to these guys and they didn’t even do their job properly. Can only wish certain things!. adel, if you want loyal customers, do your job properly and perhaps you will get some good business.

Having done roofing myself in the past and being experienced with home renovations, I spent quite a bit of time researching the different roofing materials and systems before reaching out to 8 or 9 different contractors. From the beginning my experience with Shawn at Rydel was nothing but positive. He was only one two reps who spent time listening and addressing my concerns, answering my questions and further educated me on different products. I did not feel pressured or rushed to make a decision.

Many contractors were quick to say they do this or that but Shawn explained in details Rydel’s procedures step by step which they followed through when they did the job. Their crew were nice and professional, and I am pleased with the work they did. I inspected the roof myself and it looks great.

Despite being windy that day, the guys did a good job cleaning up the property from debris and garbage from the job.

Like most construction job, it is unlikely that everything goes without a hitch. In our case, we had a drywall screw pop through the ceiling when a bundled of shingles was dropped on the roof. We have cathedral ceiling and the roof consists of 2 x 8 covered with a sheet of plywood on the outside and drywall on the inside, no attic. I think it was just bad luck the shingles fell right where the crew was.

I mentioned this to the job supervisor during the inspection the next day and to Shawn when he dropped off the warranty paper. Both apologized and offered to have it fixed without even seeing it. I turned down their offer as I am still finishing renovations inside and it is an easy fix for me to do. To me, their reaction to the issue is what was important. I felt they were sincere in wanting to have it fixed and ensure we were happy with the job.

I called the company yesterday and two staffs came and fixed my soffits this noon. They worked effectively, they not only fixed the loose soffits but also looked around the house and refastened the other two screws. Thank you for your entire team's work!

In October 2019, we engaged Rydel Roofing to help us complete a project we had outsourced to a contractor that abandoned it before completion and recently declared bankruptcy. During this stressful experience, Ken and his team from the siding division  (Phil, Tamera and Mike) have been very supportive in helping us complete the project. They explained us step-by-step how they would complete the project which included the installation of fascia, soffits and eavestrough in the new addition of the house. With the leftover material they also installed the eavesthrough on the separate garage at no charge. The job was completed on time and we are very happy with it!

UPDATE: To his credit, the owner reached out after this review, and offered to do the work. The completed eavestroughing work was high-quality and done in a timely manner, despite some hiccups along the way (they installed brown eavestroughing rather than the grey we wanted, and repeatedly got other parts of the work-order wrong). This company does decent work - just be prepared to work with them.

I had a poor experience with this company.

I was led to believe they could schedule some eavestroughing work in fall 2018 when I requested it. They didn't, and got back to me in the spring instead.

Rather than arrange a site visit to provide an estimate, they asked me to describe the work required before they'd provide a quote.

At this point, they realized it was a small job, so they said they'd charge me $395 plus HST just to visit the house and provide the quote!

This company clearly has lots of business, and doesn't need or want tiny jobs. I wish they had just said so at the beginning, instead of wasting months of my time.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!
Had a wind storm over 6 months ago called every roofer with no answer or return call, then driving home after bringing daughter to eye doctor and see Rydel Roofing I stopped the gentleman who was polite, courteous and professional from the beginning. I explained my concern with roof and potential of missing shingles. He understood my concern and addressed it immediately by coming to take a look at my roof a few blocks from where he just finished previously. I didn't even have an appointment may I add. Corey was so thorough and professional with pictures and explanation of every littlest of details from start to finish before and after shots. I'm glad I put my trust in Rydel and because if Corey I will ensure everyone know who the best, most honest and fairest priced roofers are.
