Rooftop at The Envio

First time here but definitely won’t be the last! Everything was perfect from atmosphere to food to impeccable service from Kyrie. She was so sweet and accommodating and took great care of us. Parm Crusted Chicken was delicious and loved the chowder and salad. Great experience and will be back.

Kyrie was such a delightful waitress! went here on our last night in town and definitely would go back! best lobster roll by far!

We had such a lovely experience at Rooftop at the Envio! It was a beautiful, warm day—perfect for enjoying the open-air vibe and views. We tried the sliders and the summer salad, and both were fresh, flavorful, and really hit the spot. The drinks were just as delicious—well-balanced and refreshing, exactly what you’d want on a sunny afternoon.

Big shoutout to our waitress Annabelle, who was friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. Highly recommend for a casual but elevated bite in Portsmouth!

Great views, okay drinks, sub par food. We ordered the Kobe beef sliders and the crab cakes, they were just okay. I ordered the beef tornadoes cooked medium and they were well done and SO chewy. I hate to complain at restaurants, when I told our server it was over cooked, looking at my gray steak she said “are you sure, you ordered it medium” (medium should be hot pink center) she begrudgingly took it back. They took away even my sides and left me with no food for 20mins. My friends were done eating by the time the manager brought my new steak out she had me cut into it. It was still cooked the exact same way, chewy and gray. Beyond disappointing. They took it off my bill but I did leave the restaurant still hungry.

The view is great, the service was okay but I wouldn’t return, the Portsmouth area has way better restaurants than this.

Kyrie was awesome! I did not have enough money on one of my cards and she did not make me feel bad for it even thought it was quite embarrassing but she was awesome loved her service and loved her!

Kyrie went above and beyond for our beautiful rooftop dinner. She was so attentive and kind and lovely. She recommended excellent dishes and made the whole dining experience 5 stars.

We had such a lovely dinner with our friends on the rooftop! My salad was fresh and delicious, just right for a hot summer night! Kyrie was very sweet and took great care of us. We highly recommend this lovely location.

We were on the patio outside and there was an acoustic guitar / singer. I am a professional touring musician and look forward to
Music. Unfortunately the vocals were so loud they literally distorted. I had to yell to talk to my wife along side of me. And not a good loud, distorted and muffled. It was a shame as the musician was good, however the volume and sound destroyed him. Food and cocktails were top notch. Server was lovely. Just wish a restaurant would be more cognizant of the volume during dinner. This was not a concert or dance place. Cozy restaurant with lovely atmosphere.

Got the 2 for $60 meal...2 salads, 2 entrees, and 2 desserts for $60...Annabella was great and outdoor dining was beautiful. Overall awesome experience.

Amazing meal at Envios! Food was incredible. Fresh and very flavorful. The service was also superlative. Annabella did everything she could to make sure we had what we needed. Will be back and will recommend to friends!

Me and my family truly had a wonderful dining experience at the envío, with a big thanks to our great server Annabella. Her positive energy and enthusiasm made for a fantastic time! She was very busy, running around the restaurant but we never had any complaints about her checking up on us as she was very on top of her tables! The drinks came out quickly and were delightful as well as the appetizers. Highly recommend and will be returning soon!

Kyrie was a wonderful server! Very attentive to us, got us whatever we needed and answered any questions we had. We also had a drink at the bar- I believe Nunzio may have been the bartender- I could be wrong on the name. He was fantastic. Made us laugh, made incredible

Great Views, Poor Service, Overpriced Experience
Visited hoping for a nice rooftop dining experience but left disappointed due to service issues and uncomfortable seating options.
The Experience Breakdown:
Initial Arrival:

No host at the station when we arrived
Staff member from back area was friendly and patient, promised to help us shortly
Long wait just to get seated

Rooftop Reality Check:

Outdoor space lacks adequate shade coverage
Too hot and sunny during daytime visit
Limited comfortable seating options when weather isn't perfect

Service Issues:

When we requested to move indoors due to heat, hostess gave us obvious attitude
Seemed extremely bothered by our reasonable request to relocate
Took our menus when helping us move to high-top table... then disappeared with them
20+ minute wait just to get menus back and place order
Another 10-15 minutes for second round of drinks after ordering
Had to get up and hunt down staff to request the check
Even paying felt like an inconvenience to them

The Food:
Positives:

Deviled eggs were tasty
Green beans were well-prepared

Negatives:

Overpriced for portion sizes and quality
Limited menu options

Bottom Line:
The rooftop concept has potential with nice views, but the execution falls short. Poor service attitude, inadequate shade planning, and high prices don't justify the experience.
Recommendations:

Maybe try for evening dining when it's cooler
Consider other Portsmouth restaurants with better service standards
If you do go, bring patience and lower expectations

Would I return? Unlikely. Too many other great options in Portsmouth that offer better value and service.
Best suited for: Instagram photos, evening drinks (maybe), people who don't mind paying premium for average service

Had such a lovely meal and experience with Cici, our outstanding and kind server! Would 100% come back. Got the shrimp noodle bowl and charcuterie board which were both incredible. Highly recommend!

Writing this objectively.
- Party of 6 seated 7:40 PM Saturday night. Restaurant wasn’t too busy. Placed orders for one app shared between 6 people. Ordered entrees at the same time.
- App was duck nachos. They were out of duck and substituted with chicken. We ended up getting charged the full price for duck nachos.
- Took 40 mins (8:20) for one app to come out.
- 30 mins later and entrees still had yet to come out. Had been seated for over an hour at this point.
- Waitress did not check on us. We had to call her over and ask for the status of the food. Was told kitchen was backed up, and entree orders weren’t sent to kitchen until after our apps were out. Should be 5-10 mins until they’re out. Set a timer. Food didn’t come out until after 15 mins. Over 1hr 15mins until we had our entrees (9:05).
- Food was mediocre and not worth the price at all. 3 burgers, 2 short ribs, and lamb bolognese.
- Food was warm and did not seem like it had come fresh off the grill at all. Short ribs were chuck roast, and not short ribs.
- No apology from waitress for the wait.
- Had tons of leftovers, but was not offered a to go box. Not that we would’ve taken the leftovers.

Nunzio and Anthony are fabulous bartenders. They both are friendly and engaging with customers, offering specials on menu and bar items. The AC Mariot has become our favorite place to stay in Portsmouth.
Debra Weeks ,the Rooftop bar &grill manager, is also very personable and welcoming.

We had our Son & Fiancée’s engagement dinner at Envios tonight . Everything was fantastic! Managers Deb & Amelia were great to work with during the planning . Amelia and our Server, Annabella created a very special night for us all. From the champagne toast, to the appetizers , entrees and the cutting of the cake - we couldn’t have asked for a better celebration dinner - Thank you all ❤️

Recently visited and tried 3 appetizers and 2 drinks- each one was absolutely delicious and our waitress, Annabella, was friendly and attentive. The seating area outside made us feel that we were hanging in a friends backyard and the view was classic Portsmouth riverside. Will be back many times this Summer

My friends and I had the most amazing experience after UNH graduation! A special shoutout to General Manager Deb for her hospitality and our AMAZING bartenders, especially Nunzio. Thank you for making it a special night!

This restaurant is amazing. The presentation was incredible and the service was very good. We were the only ones in the restaurant so we were well taken care of. I would have given 5 starts but the website listed a happy hour and hamburger special on Tuesdays. Neither of these things are true. It was very disappointing.

Igloo table dirty floor needed swept. A little cold driped water on me the entire time. Pillows and blankets old and worn out. Lettece wraps chicken wasnt fresh amd had am odd taste. Cucumber salad, Taziki had no flavor. The hummus had no flavor. Falafal was decent. Charcuterie board, the bread was stale and very hard . Orange had no flavor.No filtered water. Island time drink delish. I wouldnt go back. Waitress was lovely. Very disappointing they could’ve at least put a candle in the middle of the table to try to make a romantic

My best girlfriends and I reserved one of the outdoor globes this past Tuesday and had the most WONDERFUL time. It was my first time ever at Envio.

The welcome we received by Deb, the service we received by Ella, the impeccable food and drink by the bar and kitchen- one of the best dining experiences I have had in a long time. We were celebrating my birthday- Deb and Ella went above and beyond to make our experience incredible including a wonderfully special (and sparkly!) gift.

I highly recommend and will absolutely return!

We reserved the igloo from 4-6pm on Monday, December 23. It was a super fun little adventure. The burger was good and the butternut squash/parsnip soup was great with the roasted pumpkin seeds and maple crema on top was a great addition. The burrata was good and the burger was good. The drinks were good too.

Drinks were good. Food was good but for the price for a burger, there should be options for a side and not just tater tots. Deviled eggs and mushrooms flatbread were AMAZING and I would come back just for that alone. Waitress was sweet and attentive. Would recommend trying this place out. Make sure to make a reservation as it was very busy there.

The food was good, but I was expecting more to challenge my taste buds... Now, the Chocolate Blackout Cake was AMAZING! WOW!!!!

This is a rooftop restaurant at the AC hotel which was perfect since I was exhausted after work and didn’t want to go no where far. Great service and atmosphere, gladly the weather was wonderful as well! And last but not least the lobster rolls were very good!

Lovely location in downtown Portsmouth. Amazingly good for a hotel restaurant. Interesting menu and cod and noodle bowl were both yummy.

I had the opportunity to have lunch there a couple of weeks ago and everything I tried - the cauliflower, the burrata bruscetta, the lettuce wrap, the burger, the chicken - all were so tasty - it was also a stunning day outside and I loved seeing the out of doors rather than feeling shuttered inside.
Can't wait to go again!

Visited this place for dinner. Our hotel gave us a coupon so we figured why not. I was a little hesitant. Going in, the restaurant is on the top floor of another hotel. The ambiance was amazing, staff was nice and bar was very quick with drinks. Now the food.....All I have to say is wow. I got the steak, and it was amazing. It was cooked perfectly, and tasted amazing. I came in with little expectations and came out craving more food. If you're around, I highly suggest giving this spot a visit you won't be disappointed

Great spot for sharing some small plates in an awesome location. Watermelon salad with togarashi was my favorite. Super friendly staff. Thanks for a great Friday night!!

The atmosphere and service here is outstanding! Starting with the lady who greeted us and showed us to our seats, the waitress, We're both extremely accommodating! I would highly recommend that anyone who visits Portsmouth should make this one of their must stops!
We will certainly return!
