Roofing The Gorge, James Sullivan Contruction

We were on borrowed time repairing our old roof, and James and his crew did an excellent job. The project got a little tricky (more rotted wood than originally thought), but James walked us through the process and made sure we were on board with necessary changes. The crew was incredibly polite and friendly, and I was really impressed with the clean up. I was anticipating spending the month finding nails and what have you, and the guys did a fantastic job cleaning up, no nails found yet! Would highly recommend!

Highly not recommended. He came out and gave us a quote and he also matched another contractors quote. We let him know that our roof was leaking and told us he would put us on his priority list. So we decided to proceed with him. We signed the contract on may 29 and gave him half of the down payment 5,000$. He told us june 15 or sooner he would start our roof. So june 15 rolled up and hadn't heard from him. I figured he was pretty busy finishing other jobs. So after another week or so I reached out to him on june 26. He then gave me a different dates either july 10 or the 8th. Come july 10th and we haven't heard from him at all. He tells me that for sure the next week were up on his list. At this point my wife and I decided to cancel everything and wanted our money back to proceed with some one else because we needed to get our roof done asap. He wanted to charge us 20% of the 5,000 for supposedly all the time he put in our roof. We eventually got 4500 back and decided it wasnt worth fighting for 500. One other thing he overcharges for sheets of plywood that ate needed. He charges 65 per sheet when you can get them for 24. So be careful with this guy.
