Aside from installing a beautiful new roof and leaving my house and yard almost spotless, Roof Pros of Virginia finally cured the leak around the chimney that the last roof did not cure, nor did quite a few attempted repairs. We were very pleased with the service we received from Roof Pros. To begin with, the ladies in the office who set up our meeting with Chris were very polite and friendly. Chris was a pleasure to work with - friendly, polite, respectful, patient, responsive. Through the whole process even after the roof was completed. The roofing team were on location promptly at 7:00 a.m. and worked hard all day long until the last man left around 6:00 p.m., the foreman. At first I didn't feel they were protecting my property enough from nails and so I voiced my feelings to the foreman and as soon as we spoke, he immediately had more drop cloths spread out all around the house and had an assistant who was walking around and cleaning up and watching the workers through the whole process. When the roof was completed the team swept my property multiple times for nails and swept up all debris from every where. The property outside was left very clean. Any concerns I may have had were addressed immediately.
Word of warning for future customers to be fully aware: We have a screened in porch with a roof with a ridge vent. The ceiling of our roof over this porch is made from pressed board (I think it's called). The roofing nails broke off pieces of wood all over my porch. I mean, man it was a huge mess, all over the porch furniture, stuck in the screen, on the carpet, everywhere. I never looked out there while the workers were here. If I had, there's no doubt that they would have cleaned it. I'm sure they would have but none of us thought to look on the porch. If you have a porch, cover your furniture with drop cloths and get them to sweep/blow it off when they clean up.
Second word of warning: If you store furniture, luggage, seasonal decor, toys, anything of value to you in your attic, be aware that putting on a new roof will make a HUGE mess of your attic! I had no clue what to expect and was not warned about anything to do with the attic and I have lots of stuff of value stored up there. Well, black shredded debris from the old roof felt and wood was ALL OVER my pull down stairs and attic. When we pulled the stairs down, a huge mess blew and fell right down into my bedroom, where the stairs are. I mean there was black dust all over my stairs. My Christmas decor, luggage, my husband's walker, toys, everything was just covered with debris/mess. It was awful. Again, if I'd known this was going to happen, I would have covered everything with drop cloths and then just rolled them up and took them outside afterward.
Be prepared! I even had black dust/debris fall down into my bedroom around the tiny space around the pull down stairs. That's how I realized my attic was a mess. Took my adult son a few hours to clean it up. Other than these items, we are pleased!

Roofing is expensive, something you hope to only do once, and unless you are experienced, can be a total pain trying to wade through mountains of confusing and sometimes contradictory information, pressure sales, and a disturbing lack of substantive/quality information. So while this review is long, I hope you consider the level of detail both quality and helpful info.

Bottom line up front: We are happy with all aspects of the job; price, performance, and guarantee. To that end, we would (and already have) highly recommend Roof Pros of V.

Been 20 years since I’ve had to reroof a house…where to start?
Internet being what it is, our generic searches eventually manifested themselves as Facebook ads in our feeds.
Facebook..really? How much can I trust a facebook ad?

Due diligence says talk to multiple companies. We did.
Most insist on a site visit, with “the presentation”
You know, the 2 hour talkfest before they even give you a price, ending with “and this price is only good for 24 hours” No? Let me call my manager….all that BS.

Enter Roof Pros of VA.
No presentation.

Initial contact by RPVA was not from a representative, the owner himself replied to my inquiry.

Unlike other companies, RPVA used arial photography to determine size. They dropped off sample materials for us to choose colors, etc.

Follow on questions were answered via a combination of text message and email. Again, with no pressure.

The initial estimate was for 30 days; admittedly, we went past that, but RPVA still honored it; their initial estimate was the final cost.

Terms, 50% down, 50% after completion

Supplies were delivered within a week of deposit.

The crew arrive on time on the promised date. And they *worked* (especially the clean-up crew - cleanup may have been the hardest part of the job - they seemed to go non-stop.)

The entire crew was quite efficient with very little downtime- with the exception of a 30 minute lunch, not sure the guys on the roof actually took a break through the course of the day. If they did, breaks were staggered and very short.

7-8 on the roof, 3 cleanup.

Job was done in one day. I was home, so watched. The crew was very thorough and meticulous.

After the fact, I have found less than a dozen nails in the flowerbeds, and none anywhere else. Considering the size of the roof, that’s a feat until itself

(Re)painting all the vents to match was a nice and completely unexpected touch.

RPVAs field rep did the first follow up, and the owner himself did another to ensure the job was done to both his and our satisfaction.

Why we chose RPVA:
Unlike the other 4 companies we talked to - RPVA gave us their best price the first time.

None of the “well…let me go talk to the boss” who magical “finds” a $ xxxx discount. One ultimately came down 25%, and was still 2x the cost of RPVA.
When I asked the other companies why they cost so much more, their only reply was to the effect of ‘the other guys installers are not competent.’
Oddly, the same reason the other companies used when I asked why they said my roof was 46 square but competing company said it was (whatever)- the response was other guys can’t measure.
The other guys use supplies you can get at Home Depot (conveniently omitting their supplies can be bought at Lowes), and similar talking down of the competition.

We heard no such trash talk from RPVA.

RPVA is GAF (manufacture) certified. This is our product, this is our guarantee, we stand behind our work, and the manufacturer stands behind us. There was no putting down other companies - RPVA simple statement is, in effect, pride in workmanship and quality of the product.

By the way, the delivery truck was not from Home Depot or Lowes.
And
a couple weeks after the job was done, we received the written 50 year guarantee from GAF themselves.

The guys from Roof Pros were prompted, did a great job....finished inone day and even worked with me on a payment plan

Communication was great and they were able to get in within a week of my contractor finishing the framing. Would have been eariler but weather issues. They the worksite perfectly clean.

He came to the house gave me a estimate and I said ok.he said he would be out Friday to do it.he didn't show up and I had to call him.he said he would be out Monday there was a no show and haven't heard from him as of today

Very pleased with everything. Chris came out and gave us an estimate. When I gave them the go ahead he kept in touch with me before, during and after the roof replacement. The workers did a great job installing the new roof and then made sure there was no debris left in the yard. The best part of all is they came in over half less then what another local big name company quoted. If you need a new roof, use them. You cant go wrong.

Roof Pros re-shingled my 2-car garage. From the front office to the cleanup crew, the experience was efficient and pleasant. It was a little over a week from first contact to a site visit to project completion. On shingling day, the crew arrived about 7:15a and finished by 2:30p. Despite a brief delay for materials delivery the crew was able to sustain progress because the project manager personally transported some of the materials.

from the beginning, chris from roof pros was professional, kind, considerate and a total dog lover! (which is a must in this house) He didn't try to force me into the estimate. was totally honest about what may need to be replaced and gave me a high and low estimate so I knew I would be able to afford it. he waited until AFTER I approved the estimate and accepted them for the work to show me shingles unlike all the other companies who gave me estimates and tried to force me to pick shingles before i told them they were hired. the day of, his crew worked fast and efficiently and got the work done in a little under eight hours total and made sure to double check there was nothing left behind for my dog to get into or hurt himself on. other than a brand new roof, you can't even tell they were here! 10/10 would hire again.

From my initial call to Roof Pros, until my last call thanking them for a great job, it was a pleasure working with them on my roof replacement.

The roofing crew showed up right on time prepared to work, laid out all of the tarps and protective equipment, and wasted no time getting busy. They were polite, very knowledgeable, and wasted no time during the day getting the job done.

Roof was aging and I wanted to get ahead of any leaks, Roof Pros was able to fit the job in a reasonable timeframe. The work was fast, efficient and at a good price, you never knew they were there.

Very happy and satisfied with the work! The workers were there first thing in the am and were done by 1:00 pm. They cleaned up all of the debris from the yard. I also liked that the workers took breaks every so often to rest and hydrate. That was very important. I like the color of the GAF shingles too. Dave was very good to talk with and setting up the work.
