Lon at Rock Top Construction did a great job replacing our roof. Lon walked me through placing a claim with my insurance and then was persistent when my insurance first denied the claim. He helped me get my claim approved. The roof was done in 2 days. His crew was respectful and quick and cleaned up well. I would definitely recommend Rock Top Construction.

As a lender who works with clients on renovation loans, it pays to work with the best of the best when it comes to the contractor partner. Lon with Rock Top Construction is the best. We had a 27-year-old roof that was leaking down thru 2 levels. We also had a skylight that was broken by a golf ball. Rock Top replaced the roof and skylight and worked well with our homeowner's insurance. The crew was very professional and cleaned up every day. Our leaks are gone, and the roof looks fantastic.

To preface, I tried to make sure that I was a good customer and had as many design desicions made as I could before starting. But I left many things open in case there was code compliance that didn't allow for my choice or someone else had good suggestions that changed my preferences. With that said, Lon was fantastic. We contracted him for a HUGE scope of work; all new electrical, plumbing, windows, siding (including insulation, OSB, wrap, LP siding, and paint job), new HVAC, new gas lines, load bearing wall removal, framing the basement, cement work, adding a deck, new flooring and kitchen remodel.
He was energetic and excited about our project and was emotionally and professionally committed to the successful outcome of our house. He fought to help us stay within budget and on schedule while making sure we were getting the quality of work we mutually agreed on before the start of the project. I feel that he and his network of subs have a good and honest relationship. They all seemed to share the same understanding that our house project was a positive opportunity for everyone involved and I generally felt/saw that his subs took pride in their work.
Of course, a project of that size on an old house will have obstacles. Lon and his team were great to troubleshoot with. Lons military background made it easy to talk through problems and come up with solutions without conversations becoming uncomfortable or unproductive. I think that's an important characteristic. Because of that, we were all able to comfortably decide on a path forward and never left a issue/topic unadressed.
Ultimately, Lon was a great choice and we'd make the same choice again!

I paid Rocktop $4300 to repair and match the stucco on my two chimneys. They came out and repaired the stucco over the flashing but did not make any other repairs to the chimneys. I talked to Lon several times about them coming back out to finish the job but they never did. He eventually suggested that I talk to their subcontractor directly. I did and they still did not come back to finish the job. I got half of what I paid for and have been strung along for a year now. I would not use them again.

Even with a small supply delay, my windows were put in very close to the estimated time. The team was extremely careful of my home and took precautions to keep it clean . They answered all my concerns in a professional manner.
Since having the windows replaced, I have noticed significant reduction of outside noise and some drop in energy .

Lon is outstanding at what he does. His commitment to quality and a positive customer experience is unmatched. Referring other contractors on projects can be sketchy because if they don't do a good job it can reflect poorly on us for recommending them, but we have been working with Rock Top Construction for years and we have never had a bad experience.

Head guy Lon was nice, friendly, informative, and responsive. I like that they recommended ridge vents and intakes for air circulation to make your shingles last longer, as well as metal valleys, and offer 50 year shingles. I do not want to replace my roof for a long time! The work crew was nice and got the job done quickly, and it looks great!. The price was decent. Just what we were looking for!

I hired this company to do my roof this year and through the process of replacing my roof, I find out the following:
This is one of the many do-it-yourselfer’s who think that their skills working around the home can translate into being a general contractor and being able to manage other contractors. They rely on the contractors that they hire for their expertise, but they themselves do not have any trade experience to know whether the contractors they hire are doing the job properly.
It was not a pleasant experience having to babysit workers who were trying to cut corners every step of the way and the multitude of excuses provided by Lon trying to cover his lack of knowledge and the people he hired.

RockTop was very responsive when I called them to check on a roof leak. They fixed the problem promptly and were very professional and great to work with!

Rock Top Roofing performed perfectly. They created an estimate that came in at a fair price. They replaced my roof sooner that expected and came in right on cost. I was able to have all of this done while on assignment in Japan. The team was supportive, open, and honest through the entire process. The job came out great. I highly recommend this company; a 10 out of 10!

Rock Top was a great company to work with. They were on time when they worked and they let me know everything that was going on. The most imporant part was when other companies said that I would need to repalce all of my plywood on the roof at a cost of $9,000 Rock Top said that only a small part of the plywood would need replacing that ended up saving me $8,000. I was given sesveral options to choose and the work was done on time.

Not only was he on time, me made sure that his sub contractors finished well, cleaned up and did the job right. He came back several times after to inspect. He also did a follow up ceiling repair where his contractor took out the swamp cooler. He also worked with the insurance company to make sure we were paid and he completed the forms for us. Ours was a learning curve for all involved.I had the roof and siding done. The siding took longer than anticipated but worth the wait.
Best advise, Get an actual bid on paper not just a verbal agreement that you'll sign over everything your insurance will cover. Take before and after pictures in case there's damage that wasn't there before the work started.
Suggest measuring TWICE so there aren't any surprises which aren't your fault but they want YOU to pay for their measurement errors.
DOCUMENT, WRITE EVERYTHING DOWN, HAVE COPIES AND RECEIPTS EVERYONE INITIAL THROUGHOUT THE PROCESS SO THERE ARE NO QUESTIONS OR SURPRISES.
It was a process but it looks awesome. Occasionally when it sounds too good to be true, take that leap of faith.

We were very lucky to have Rock Top come and replace our roof, and rain gutters last summer. At first, we weren't sure we'd be able to afford it - since we were trying to save as much money as we could, for a future kidney replacement surgery that I would need. We told Lon & Brandon we'd probably have to put it on hold for an unknown time period. But they came back a week later, and told us they'd like to do the roof anyway, but only charge for the materials they'd need to buy, and no charge for the labor! And most of the materials were donated by ABC roofing supply, they had enough of a discontinued line of roofing shingles to cover our
roof, so they donated it! I was in complete disbelief! They were so kind to even offer to do this for us, I was blown away! And then when the crew came to do the job, they were the nicest and most respectful group of guys, and were a pleasure to have doing the work. When the job was done, it was so beautiful - and so quickly done as well, and it was very
professionally finished. I would highly recommend this company to everyone. They helped us through every stage, including helping us get our home owner's insurance to help with some of the payment - our particular company didn't want to pay very much, but it did finally pay

We had significant damage to our roof from a hail storm, and I would never had known that I could have that covered by our home owners insurance. Rock-Top came in with unmatched expertise and worked with my insurance company to get my home protected with a new roof. Company has some communication issues.

We started with a terrible experience using Rock Top - there had been zero communication since one of their sales reps took our deposit monies. We grew very concerned because they kept giving us timeframes which were all been missed - but with no communication we were left to ourselves to wonder what was going on.

We finally got communication on when the roof would be put in and it finally got done.

Still had some communication issues with the company about payment but everything finally got resolved.

It was not the best experience but they tried their best to make up for all the mistakes for sure.

We hired Rock Top, LLC to install a new roof on our home. Jon Dimick was the project manager and did a fantastic job. He worked with our insurance adjustor to get our insurance company to cover the wind damage. Jon cordinated with the roofers installing and kept us informed during the entire process. Jon made sure that the installation included additional venting as well as an ice sheet for further protection from ice & snow damage. The roof installation was completed in about 2 1/2 days. J & J Roofing did a fantastic job & were very considerate of us & our property. They went out of their way to accommodate us. They cleaned up all the nails & old roofing material. We are thrilled with our new roof and highly recommend Rock Top and J & J Roofing.
