I called Hytech at the recommendation of a neighbor who's a building contractor and knows the owner. The estimator came out and spent a good 45 minutes discussing the roof job and taking measurements. The work was replacing a flat roof membrane - a bit tricky, so I asked him if this was the kind of the job they were interested in. "Absolutely" was the reply. I waited three weeks before calling their office and leaving a message for the estimator. I waited two weeks, called back, and spoke to the estimator. "I'm on it", he said. Still no estimate. I waited two more weeks before emailing the office and making one last request for an estimate. No reply. They may very well do good work, but their basic business/response skills are lacking. Update: The estimator called two and half months after initially coming over, explaining that they had switched systems, apologized that they had dropped the ball, and said it wasn't representative of their work.
