Our roof was very old and needed a great deal of extra wood work. We actually paid a great deal more than our original estimate because the man estimating couldn't tell what was under our shingles. That was not his fault. Now our roof is perfect and beautiful. We had three leaking areas that are repaired. They replaced our kitchen window so they could put in a smaller one. This allowed them to add a slope to our flat roof. They worked very hard to make sure everything was done to perfection both inside and outside. I can't say enough about their crews. They were wonderful! They continually worked very hard ALL day except a half hour lunch. They cleaned EVERYTHING up including the smallest bits of trash. I highly recommend you use River City Roofing for your home. Five stars isn't enough!!!

UNBELIEVABLE JOB! In my business life, I always require at least 3 quotes for major projects. Dealing with quotes can be overwhelming and time consuming so, when possible, I ask people I know and trust to give me their number 1 choice. This was the case when I needed a new roof before year end as my insurance company had notified me they were nonrenewing. I believe I had 3 qualified companies recommended to me, but there is no doubt in my mind that choosing River City Roofing was the best choice. It started with the call to Wanda. She took the time to understand my needs and timeline and because it was a short timeline she arranged for the owner of River City to come out and quote my job the very next day. He was incredibly humble and took all the time in the world to walk me through the choices and process to insure I was comfortable with everything. I told him I was very pleased with everything, but that my personality wouldn't allow me to just take the first proposal I got. He understood and said he would have me a written proposal the following day and we could go from there. He did just that and I completed my other 2 quote meetings shortly after that. In all 3 situations I actually talked to each of the owners. River City's quote came in between the other 2 quotes, but again there was no doubt in my mind they were the company to choose. We set a date, they showed up when they said they would and finished the job in 2 days. Being it was late November and daylight was short, we agreed that the trailer would be left overnight. The next morning the foreman of the job came out himself and made sure everything was cleaned up and in the trailer before pulling it off. I've been on the roof and it is magnificent. There were no issues with the major storm which just passed through and I don't expect there ever will be. If there is, the roof came with a warranty, and because the company has been around for decades, I know they will be there to take care of it. I've had 2 neighbors, who know how I approach major expenditures, come and ask me if I was happy with everything because if I was they knew who they were going to call since the process seemed to go very smoothly and the roof looked great. AGAIN, UNBELIEVABLE JOB!

The office staff is professional and helpful and answered my questions. The roof workers wasted no time once the job commenced and did not leave a mess behind when they finished.

I called for a roof inspection as my insurance company was not going to renew my policy. Not only did I receive a call back the same day, Joe came out that day and completed the inspection. Joe completed and forward the inspection report to me the next day so I could forward the documents to my insurance company.
8/18/23 Update:
These comments are related to River City Roofing installing new roof on my 2 story home. I did shop around, after comparing estimates I decided to stay with a company I know (used previously) and trust. There price was more but the quality of the materials were a better grade and the warranty was for a longer time frame. I would highly recommend them for your roofing needs and I will be using them again should the need arise.

Don't have the estimate, but the outstanding customer service I have received so far, prompt attention and on time appointment makes them a contender.

River City Roofing Company is a pleasure to work with. We take the measurements they do the roofing installs. Our customers are happy with their service. They're honest and don't try to sell you stuff you don't need. Thank you Chad.

River city roofing replaced my roof in Fleming Island. We had several bids and we chose them even they were not the low bidder. Some friends recommended them and they did a great job. The roof consists of gray architectural shingles that match our house very nicely. We recommend them.

Chad and Tim were great to work with from estimate through installation day. Other quotes I received were more expensive for less quality shingles.

The roofer installation itself was very quick and the roof looks great, the leaks were fixed. I gave 3 stars because when they left their materials at my location I noticed they also did not clean up. Nails, roofing debris were everywhere, plastic from unpacking the materials. Everywhere I took pictures and contacted the company stating these things they informed me they would comb the place over and pick up the remaining materials within the next two days a week goes by and nothing. I had reached out to the company multiple times about debris I ended having to go directly to the building, and tell them that if they didn't pick up their materials and everything by the end pf the week I'm going to put it by the side of the road. If they don't care for their materials why should I. They picked up the materials, though did not clean up the mess that was left behind.. I am also having to clean up all the debris myself so my dog doesn't step on any6or eat anything. If they had I would have sued. That is my main beef, no clean up was done and materials were left at my place for a week. I am not a storage unit.

Did a good job replacing my roof. In addition, they added a slight slope to the portion of flat roof on the house to provide proper drainage. They were slow getting started but did the work quickly. I would certainly recommend them.

RC installed new roof in 2017 and we have had a leak or two since then. They responded early on first leak and only charged for labor... minimal. On more recent leak (same place!) it took a few conversations and getting connected to the right individual there. Initial estimate by them to fix was nearly $3000. Wut? Second visit from actual specialist from RC found simple repair which was done at no charge and no more leak. Respect and confidence restored in this company. So diligence on owners part is good idea.

i had made a insurance claim and the company turned me down on a reroof. they would only do a repair.River City Roofing made it happen.They were able to get the insurance company to do a complete reroof. Im quite thankful.

Avoid at all cost. We hired this company initially to replace the roof on a home we were selling. The agreed upon date for the work to begin was Feb 26th. A week prior we called to confirm that they would be out only to be told that because they had not heard from us that they moved the date to the end of March. Our closing date for the sale of the home was March 4th (and they knew this) so there was no way we could push back the closing or have them to replace the roof afterwards. We called another roofing company that was able to go out there the same week to get it done. When we were getting the paperwork done to sell the home, the title company informed us that we had two NOC's on our title. One from the roofing company that we used and one from River City Roofing. We called River City Roofing and ask them to remove it and they said only if we paid them a cancellation fee of $3870.90!!!! They wanted 20% of the contract price and they never lifted a finger and did zero work! I tried to reason with them because they were the one who moved the date and then it turned into them saying "can you prove that?", "you didn't speak to me", and "you signed a contract". We did sign the contract but they were the ones in breach of the contract by changing the date on us. Anyway, we paid the cancellation fee in order to close on the house and I intend to sue them. STAY AWAY!!

I had a branch from a storm that went into my roof. I called several companies and could not get them to come out or if they came out could not get them to do the repair. This was a very small roof repair, but the bottom line is I had a whole in my roof. River City Roofing came out the day after I called them and then scheduled the repair. They came and repaired the roof and I am satisfied with the price. Thank You Allen and Taj! You made my day. I appreciate your friendliness and skill to keep my roof in good working order. If I ever need a roof, I am calling River City Roofing! They not only do the big jobs! They help you when you have a small job!! Five Stars and I would give you 100 if I could!

One of the best experience that I have had throughout my life dealing with a roof company. In the past I had a roof put on they were subcontractors and did not care and did a terrible job and company went out of business. This time I did my research. River City has direct employees and has been around for over 40 yrs. My first experience with Joe Oldring was great he explained and went through everything to expect. I wanted to upgrade with a barrier. I had gotten other qoutes and new that they wanted to cut corners. THe River City team came out and did a great worked so hard in this heat and job cleaned up afterwords making sure there was no nails hanging around my driveway or in my yard. I highly recommed them. Infact I used them for my rental as well.

I had my roof replaced by River City Roofing and since have a few leaks - they never even came out to do an assessment instead said that they warranty was no longer good because of natural disaster storms in the past few years. They NEVER even came out to see what, where or why this was happening. They do not stand behind their word.

River City Roofing is the best roofing company in Jacksonville. I live in South Carolina about 4 hours from Jacksonville. My sister's and I researched between ten and fifteen roofing companies before finally settling on River City. River City was chosen because of the professionalism exhibited to me and my family. Joe was the first to come out survey the house take measurements and give an estimate. Later we were introduced to Carrie wow, she was full of knowledge and she took us by the hand, explained everthing. It was important for me to have everything coordinated since I was coming from four hours away. I really felt everthing was set up after speaking with carrie so I left Carolina and headed to Florida. The crew arrived earlier than I expected and starred the roof repairs. These guys impressed me they were nonstop until the work was done. Of course, they paused for lunch. The did a really impressive job and cleaned up as if they lived there. The next day I drove to the company to make final payment and to thank Carrie for her professionalism and kindness. I was greeted by Stephanie who was polite and courteous. She announced me to Carrie and I thanked her. This is a good company and my only regret is they're not in South Carolina thank you guys, my sister's and I are we pleased. Oh yes, the price we paid was a good deal too.

After hurricane Matthew, I had a small leak in my roof. Joe came over, found the source of the leak, and scheduled me in quickly for the repair - even with the influx of hurricane requests. The team was professional, courteous, and efficient. After, they cleaned up the site and checked the area for any stray roofing nails. I’d use them again in a heartbeat. Even the invoicing was a simple process. It is nice to know that in a crisis you have someone reliable to count on.

River City Roofing does not stand behind their work. Had a roof put on a house as a condition of the sale. Three months after the roof was put on, it began to leak. RCR was called and their response was that the warranty does not transfer. So, not only did they do a horrible job on the roof, they won’t even stand behind their work a mere three months later. When looking for a roof, call one of the dozens of other roofing companies in town. I guarantee that no one will provide service poorer than River City Roofing.

First call to RVR, didn't need to call anywhere else. The estimator Joe was on time and efficient, knowledgeable and friendly. Thankfully they were able to get a tech out in a few days to address the leak from the storm damage. Alan was punctual as well, and completed all repairs as requested. If you have any roofing needs, call this team!!

I received a few quotes to get a roof built over my porch from various companies none I really felt comfortable with either they just didn't want to do the job and would tell me months out. Our the price was so high i just couldn't take these companies serious. I got ahold of Joe at river city roofing he came out was honest straight forward. We worked a price out that was manageable for me. They installed the roof and they far exceeded my expectations. I couldn't be happier with the job they did.

RiverCity Roofing came out to give me a roof estimate and told me I had wind damage on my roof. I knew that there were a few shingles missing but since the roof was older I didn’t think insurance would cover it. After RiverCity Roofing contacted my insurance company I ended up getting a brand new roof for only the cost of my $500 deductible. I was prepared to pay full price, I feel like I won the Lottery because it’s so expensive to replace a new roof . The other companies just tried to sell me a roof, RiverCity Roofing went the extra mile and my roof looks fantastic!!!

My parents roof got damaged during hurricane and was leaking. This company had a crew at the house right away and did a temporary fix to prevent from getting more damaged inside. Mrs. Wanda was super nice and did all the trouble dealings with insurance. Staff at the office were always friendly and crew did an amazing job on the roof and cleaning behind. My roof will be next. I recommend this company.

Was given a roof estimate in early February and roof to be done in March, put deposit of over 8000.00 and when I called in late feb to see exact date for roof I was told my sales rep didn’t work there anymore and they were not doing my roof for quote I was given, would be 4000.00 more and would be May before it would be done. After much fuss, they did move date up to late March but wouldn’t do anything about price change. When I told them I wanted my check back, he was supposed to bring it back at 11:30, got a call he would be about an hour late. He never showed and I didn’t get a call. When I called the office I was told he was busy. He brought it the next day. Needless to say, I picked a different roofing company!!!!
