Rio Vista Contracting

I was initially excited to contact Rio Vista Contracting after seeing so many positive reviews. They responded quickly with a phone call and assured me they'd provide a quote. I sent over my plans and clarified the scope of work, but after that - communication stopped. Despite following up (even after receiving timely quotes from other contractors), I never heard back. They assured me they’d get back in touch, but ultimately, they didn’t follow through. My deck build was pretty straight forward. The lack of communication and follow thru on a quote is the reason for this review.

Update:
After posting my initial review, the owner did reach out and apologized for the delay. I appreciate the acknowledgment and have updated my rating to reflect that. While I still wish the communication had come before the review (especially after waiting a week and following up with no response) I recognize they're a small, busy team. In a town like ours, reviews carry weight, and I don’t want to be unfair. That said, a quick update or message goes a long way when folks are waiting. I hope this feedback helps improve things going forward.

Edgar and his team at Rio Vista Construction did an outstanding job building a beautiful fence for my property in puyallup WA. The craftsmanship is top-notch, and the attention to detail really shows in the final product. From start to finish, Edgar was professional, communicative, and efficient.

The quality of the materials and the precision of the installation have truly enhanced the look and privacy of my home. I was particularly impressed with how quickly the project was completed without compromising on quality. Very impressed with Edgar and his team. Communication was outstanding - I was always able to contact Edgar when needed and he responded promptly. His team did really high quality work, was prompt, and they accomplished the work much quicker than I thought and to a better quality than I thought. My experience has been great. They exercised attention to detail, patience with the ever changing work environment . Stuck with my project rather than jumping to another project to finish up. Very punctual. worked late if necessary to get the job done on time. Always had a great attitude. I've had Rio Vista do several jobs and will have them do many more.

Services: Roofing and Drywall

A year ago a tree fell on the roof of my house. After almost a year of getting blown off by Soo many roofers and contractors never calling us to fix our house in Coupeville. A friend of mine recommended Rio vista contracting, Edgar and his crew came out right away! The distance was no problem for him and he was able to get us an estimate and date to start so quickly. Hiring them was the best decision and wish I knew of him sooner! The crew are hard working and very respectful. They were able to make my family and I feel safe with a stable roof over our heads again and in just a few days! We also suffered damages to our dry wall around our skylight from moisture coming in and created mold Edgar replaced the dry wall making our home safe for our kids again. I can’t thank them enough. I will definitely be hiring them again for any home repairs and improvements in the near future. I highly recommend giving them a call for any job big or small, these are your guys!

I had two rotted posts on my cedar fence. I called Edgar on Tuesday, he came right out, gave me a bid and the job was completed on Saturday. I met with Edgar to get an estimate on some deck work and he promised to send estimate “next week” when I did not receive it I called Edgar and he again promised to send it “next week “ and still nothing
I told him I had problems with contractors following through in the past when I met with him and he assured me there would be no problems….,DON’T trust him!

Rio Vista is awesome! From start to finish Edgar was excellent at communicating with us, answering any questions, and provided a fair quote, that they stuck to, to the cent! They arrived on time, worked crazy fast, and were thorough. They were very respectful of the property, and were so sweet with my two year old son who loves any construction and trucks. We had them replace all our exterior window trims and then paint the whole house. Our house looks AMAZING and we are so glad we found them!

We bought a small mobile home that needed a lot of remodeling done. We were looking for someone that was affordable and reliable. We spoke to some friends that also got some work done and we contacted Rio Vista Contracting, These guys gave me an estimate within the same week, and started the following week. They were able to get my bathroom and patio done in time for us to move in & get our furniture in just in time for my baby to be born. Only down side is Estimate did change at the end due to more work needing to be done but the results were definitely worth it !! I recommend Edgar & Renato & their team to anyone & everyone.

Edgar and Renato are two of the best people I have hired. They show up when they say they will, the always ask for your opinion to make sure what they are doing is what you want, they are honest and the work they do is simply amazing. The price they charged me for numerous days of back breaking work and they fact that they did it all in freezing temperature is a sign of their commitment. Talking to Edgar we asked him if he could help correct the deficiencies in our new deck that was initially done by another contractor. He said he could redo our deck and his price was reasonable. I highly recommend Rio Vista Contracting. I moved to Mount Vernon to an old Farmhouse in December of 2021. I was introduced to this Father/Son family owned business by another contractor. They installed attic flooring, folding stairs and shelving for our Garage/Shop remodel. I was immediately impressed with their speed, quality and integrity. Since then they have proven to be my go to contractor for just about anything I need done. They have done custom molding to match the old look of the farmhouse, patched floors where we removed walls during the remodel (on this they were successful where others failed) and they are now building me a 29 by 20 covered carport. They have done several more smaller jobs. I am always impressed with the quality of their tools and it is clear they invest wisely in their business. Edgar, the adult son, is my main contact. He is responsive, flexible and very easy to work with. I trust him and his father for any job they say they can do. If the work is outside their scope they have been excellent with their referrals. If I had not been introduced to Rio Vista my experience moving into this old farmhouse would have been very difficult. We are proud of the work we have completed and we give much of the credit to Rio Vista. I am a very happy customer.
