Riemco finished building our custom home almost 8 years ago, so this review is a reflection on the overall build quality over time. We have had no issues with the house and are just as happy with the results today as we were 8 years ago. The staff were wonderful to work with and helped us through the entire process. The design process with Riemco resulted in a house that suited our needs, style and budget.

Riemco Design + Build designed and built a small addition to our 1930s house. Throughout the process, the team was sensitive to the existing design, our thoughts and how the new space would interact with the existing space. The result is a beautiful new master bedroom that sits above a screened-in porch.

While a bedroom and porch isn't a large project, Riemco gave the time and attention to every step in the process. We never felt that this was "their small job."

Riemco's attention to detail has meant a seamless transition between the old and new. The wood flooring, stains and design flourishes mirror the original 1934 work perfectly.

Also, the team made extraordinary efforts to keep us informed of contractor schedules to ensure our day-to-day life could go on as uninterrupted as possible. Billing was prompt, fully explained and transparent.

From the first call with Maria, to the follow-up walk-throughs with Jim, the entire Riemco team has been thoughtful, creative and a true pleasure to work with.

Riemico rescued a small project where another contractor did a horrible job for us. High quality work and Great communication. Other Family have had complete homes built and these are of outstanding quality as well with nice creative touches.

It has been several years since we worked with Riemco to finish our basement, including a full bath. They were professional and communicative, helping us from the design phase, through the build. They minimized the “construction dust” in the weeks they were doing the build, and left things nice and clean before they finished. In the years since our project, we have enjoyed the space, and have had no issues that would require attending to. Riemco designs and builds. And those are both important. After 3 or 4 go arounds trying to get a design we liked, they decided we might be wrong about what we wanted and designed something different. That's what we picked. It was perfect for the house and the location. A great location like ours needed a great design and a great build. The team that did the build was excellent too. The Riemco Design + Build company built our beautiful Lakehouse in 2010 which we love! Last fall we inquired about a renovation of our master bath and guest bath. They responded with a design and quote we thought was very reasonable. They replaced our countertops and fixtures with a beautiful white marbled quartz product. They also replaced wall mirrors with LED round and square lighted mirrors. The space looks totally updated and modern.
Their attention to detail and cleanliness is a plus. Their employees are all skilled at their trade whether it be design, electric or plumbing or painting.

Absolutely love the remodel design and addition to our home! Everything flows so beautifully for "age in place" accommodations and looks like it was always a part of the house. Riemco's Design/Pre-construction process is fantastic. Their approach and process is thoughtful, iterative and organized. As a project manager by trade, the process was what initially drew me to Riemco. The execution cemented my decision to hire them to remodel my 120+ year old home. Construction and remodeling are often transactional/functional experiences. What sets Riemco apart is their desire to understand the environment and lifestyle you are trying to create. They utilize a number of tools such as Pinterest, Prioritizing Grids, onsite meetings, and others to really get to know the space and understand the users/uses. I am confident in the design and decisions the team helped me make and can't wait for construction to begin.

From the initial concept/design consultation to the "now we're living in it!" stage, our entire
experience with Riemco Design + Build exceeded our every expectation. Thoughtful effort went into
the upfront design phase, with the architectural and interior recommendations being additive to the
form & function of the finished space. Riemco's entire team worked seamlessly to ensure that our
meeting/review time together was focused and on track with projected timelines. A key requirement
for our family was pres erving the architectural taste and intent of the original 1952 design, while

We hired Riemco to tear down an aging lake house and replace it with a new custom home. The demolition of the old house began in the beginning of September 2021, and the new home was finished and handed over in May of 2022. Even with the supply chain issues happening around the world Riemco was able to finish the project as specified, and ahead of schedule.

Throughout the project Riemco communicated with us on a regular basis, and responded to our questions and concerns immediately. The Riemco building and design process is very well orchestrated. Their attention to detail is outstanding.

There is not another builder I could imagine going through the home-building process with. We moved in about a month ago, and it's like waking up in a wonderful dream every morning. We shopped around a bit before choosing Riemco, but no one else offered the quality, care, and level of customization that we were after.

We started first with the overall design of the house, and we wanted something a bit different than their current portfolio showed (modern mountain), but it was clear right away that they would be able to handle that type of house beautifully. Their architect and designer, Peter and Lauren, worked with us very carefully to get all the details right for the house and interior design, including an amazing open steel stairway that let us keep the entire bottom floor as one big open concept and tons of windows to take in the view.

Lauren also helped us build out some amazing custom spaces, like a freestanding mud bench (instead of a dedicated room), a custom office desk and shelves, our laundry room, and the kitchen -- all of which we love. We also got a lot of really cool details in each of the bathrooms, and our master bath came out amazing.

Once we moved on to the build phase we primarily worked with Ron. As an engineering manager, similar to another poster, I have a lot of respect for a project run right, and Ron did a fantastic job. He was able to make quick decisions on site that aligned perfectly with what we were after, any time something didn't quite feel right he'd give us a call and chat it out.
There were several times we ultimately made changes that we wouldn't have known to make but are much happier for now.

It was really during the build process that my respect for Riemco grew. I loved the design process and it was a lot of fun -- but it was seeing the care that the teams put into their work, how clean and safe the site was when we visited each weekend to see the progress, and how they handled the covid situation and were quick to try to get us back on track once construction opened back up, that really stood out. If something wasn't right or up to their quality standard, they fixed it.

That is also present in the care and respect they have for each other, and as a team, and the respect the workers have shown myself, my family, and the property, as they've come back for a few small things.

Everyone always asks us about timing, and Riemco has hands down been the most timely and on track builder we've ever worked with. If I ignore the covid shut down time that they could not avoid, we were able to move in right around the expected time frame in months of active construction, and they worked hard to make sure that was possible for us.

We haven't done the full photos for their online portfolio yet since we've just moved in, but I've included just a few photos so you'll be able to match this review to a house up once it's there. We love our home!

We had a great experience working with Riemco building our new home. They are friendly, honest and professional. Our house turned out great. We've been living in it for a few years now and it is clear that it was quality built. A few things stand out in particular from our experience with Riemco. First, Peter the architect was great to work with and really got our style/vision. Second, they did an excellent job managing the construction timeline. They had a plan to complete construction in 6 months and they stuck to their plan. And finally, they demonstrated their trustworthiness throughout our build process. During our build, the municipal water connection rates changed, significantly lowering our costs to hook up to city water. Riemco was totally transparent with the change in costs and passed along those savings to us. I don't know that I would trust every builder to do the same. I highly recommend Riemco and would be happy to work with them again.

Too many friends have shared horror stories about cost overruns and massive delays with their custom built homes. Not enough subdivision houses looked all that appealing during our search. I am writing this recommendation for Riemco with profound enthusiasm because they have shown us a better way. We have lived in our Riemco-built house for about a year, and absolutely love it!

We chose Riemco over other firms that we looked at because we were so impressed with their the process that they showed us. It was detailed and well documented, and as an engineer who designs multi-million dollar infrastructure projects, I knew that such a process is critical to delivering quality on time and on budget. The process delivered throughout our project.

The process began with Peter designing our house, and Lauren designing the interior details. Peter was wonderful to work with, did an incredible job translating our paper sketch into a buildable plan. Lauren was also amazing, and spent a great deal of time sitting down with my wife to nail down interior details to our exact liking. The vendors that they sent us to, to select our materials were also wonderful to work with, and provided a great deal of help. Big George’s and Floor Traders deserve a special shout-out.

As design wrapped up, we had a wonderful experience working with Ron during construction. This was where the process continued to payoff, as the we did not encounter any surprises. Ron was great about answering our questions and keeping things on track, as was Rob—who is an incredibly knowledgeable, hands-on owner. I was particularly impressed at the thought that he put into materials and techniques, and how he was constantly looking for ways to improve and deliver the best.

The end result, however, is the ultimate argument in favor of both Riemco and its process. Our house is incredible. From the details of design that Peter and Lauren preformed so brilliantly, to the quality of construction that Ron oversaw, the house is amazing. There are so many wonderful things about—from the reduced demand on HVAC due to its solid thermal design, to the lack of wear that a typical house would experience, to the beautiful interiors that Lauren and Peter helped design, it is truly our dream home.

We highly recommend Riemco for any new home construction, expansion, or restoration. The approach they showed us delivered quality beyond our wildest expectations. Understand that when one hires Riemco, they will not deliver a typical McMansion. Riemco delivers a truly solid, beautiful home built to the exact liking of the individual customer.

I work with a ton of builders in my profession, and Riemco Builders in my eyes is easily top 3 builders in all of Washtenaw county, hands down. To be able to coordinate a massive project from start to finish takes a certain know how. Riemco knows how.
