The R&G Home Improvement team have remodeled our bathroom, installed a window, and replaced our deck which included installing cable railings. They also laid a stone walkway and built a custom cedar privacy screen to hide our oil tank.

We needed some repair work to be done to our finished basement. We were advised to contact R&G Home Improvement by another contractor. We contacted Rafael, received an estimate and had him start on our repairs. In the process, it was discovered that the repair work would also require some outside repairs, as well. We told Rafael to put his crew to work, and after experiencing some rather "wet" weather, the work was completed and this allowed the indoor work to be completed, as well. My wife and I are very pleased with the work performed by Rafael and his crew. They were real gentlemen and performed their work in a very professional manner. I seldom write reviews; but this is an exception. Rafael and his team recently replaced my gutters and installed a new downspout. Everything was done as stated, work was exceptional, and my wife and I are very pleased. Rafael was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. Our project consisted of a complete renovation of our bathroom and also our backyard deck, and required creative thinking from him (and myself). He demonstrated that he is focused on our complete satisfaction and cares for his customers. We needed our house trim and shutters painted and Raphael and his crew delivered. We were very impressed with the professionalism and detail that Raphael provided right from the start. R&G did a professional job in restoring our basement drywall when a pipe leak caused ceiling and wall damage. His attention to detail and flexibility in doing the work was exceptional. Most impressive was his ability to convince insurance adjusters of the work involved in restoring the basement properly and the appropriate claim. Very confident in his skill set, attitude and professionalism.

Rafael and his team replaced the siding on our home. From the time he quoted the project through the follow up after completion the R & G group provide exceptional communication and service. The quote we received was fair but after taking in account the level of quality and expertise the price paid turned out to be a tremendous value. I would recommend R & G Home Improvement for anyone in need of their services. We are already having him back for another project.

Rafael is very nice, but unfortunately, we never got the chance to preview his work. He was late for the initial quote walk through that we scheduled (I woke him up with a text). Despite this, we chose him after receiving several quotes. He wasn't the cheapest but very close and we liked him. We then scheduled the work, but the next 2 visits were a bust. He came to do the work the 1st time and 5 minutes in he said he got a text from his wife that she was in a car accident. We were very sympathetic and told him to take his time reschedule. We followed up to make sure his wife was OK. It then took me several days to get him to commit to another date. He was a no call, no show for the 2nd visit. I called him once and sent him multiple text messages. He finally responded by text after 10AM asking if he could stop by our house to explain why he couldn’t make it. We politely said no thank you.
There was another review that said he was not very responsive and he would disappear. This is dead on. It a shame because he was very nice and he probably does good work.

Rafael is very polite, honest, and knowledgeable. He and his team are excellent! My ceiling caved in a few months back and they had the work done in a few days. They do quality work and I would highly recommend this company for any home repairs and remodeling you may need.

Very nice guy. However, he has a tendency to look at a potential job and disappear on you. For example, he came and looked at a potential job for me this past Saturday and said that he would have an estimate for me by Sunday night. Well, I am still waiting on that estimate. I am sorry but I have to have someone who is prompt and will communicate with me in a timely manner. He does not do either one well.

My wife and I contracted R&G Home Improvement to do some roof and interior repair work caused by a leak. We reached out to a number of contractors for the job, and Rafael responded quickly to our needs. He also prioritized our situation due to the inclimate weather forecast. Rafael and his team were very professional, and I highly recommend them to anyone for housing needs.

Excellent contractor , he did the roof of my house about a year ago. The cost and material used was wonderful. Rafael will always take his time to explain to you in lay man's language, even to the smallest detail. His recommendations are to the point.
Now he has just finished my kitchen and one of my bathrooms.
Note, I always compare his price and explanations with one or two other contractor. HE HAS ALWAYS COME ON TOP. He is friendly and never in a rush, and he gives you the professional reason why.

Not only were they willing to come out on short notice, they took the time to explain everything that needed to be done to repair our roof. Very reasonably priced, and Rafael and crew are friendly and helpful. I would recommend them to all my friends!

I had a unique experience with Rafael. On my job, I used two contractors, because one was family. Rafael and his crew did the structural,framing, roof, siding, of our addition (dormer), and my family member is finishing the inside. So having two contractors can be tricky, but they worked well with communicating with one another and got the job done. I can say that Rafael and his crew are meticulous, courteous, clean, and conscientious. Everyday Rafael was here he asked if we had any questions about the job, before he left. Anytime I needed to reach Rafael he was quick with a response. There were days when his crew worked till 7pm to get the job done to stay on schedule. There were some hiccups along the way, and that is with any job. It's having a contractor you can depend on and trust to get through those issues. Rafael is that kind of business owner. If you are reading these reviews in hopes of finding a great contractor, don't hesitate. He's your man.

EDIT - Rafael came to our home several days after I wrote the below post, seemingly unaware that I had reviewed his company. He apologized for the circumstances and explained the situation for why he was aloof. He offered to do some work for us free of charge to make up for his mistake as it was wearing on his conscience. We agreed to let him do what he was offering. Since then, he has stayed in constant contact and showed up on time to do what he promised to do. I feel terribly for the circumstances which kept him from providing the level of service which he is accustomed to providing. His actions since speaking with us in person have proven that he is the businessman we reached out to in the first place. I am updating my rating to a 4 in lieu of past and current experiences.

Homeowners beware. I am surprised by the amount of positive reviews regarding R&G. We have had the worst customer service experience with Rafael and his company over the past couple months. After reading the reviews and doing some research on contractors in our area, we reached out to Rafael in order to get estimates on some work we wanted done in our home and backyard. It took him more than a week to get back to us before he came for the estimate. He promised to have the estimate to us within 2 days and after two weeks of calling and emailing him, he finally got back to us. We reviewed the proposal and asked him to move forward. Unfortunately, for the next several weeks he would disappear for weeks on end with absolutely NO communication. He would pop up after weeks of not being in touch with random text messages and then stop responding again. He even showed up to the house during the middle of the day once to show us that his phone was broken and that is why he couldn't respond. He provided a different number but didn't respond via that number. I called him and left a voicemail every day for one week and it took him until the next week to send me a text message saying "Senor, I am here, I am back." My last communication with him was more than a week ago where I told him that I was concerned that he wasn't able to stay in constant communication with his customers and was worried that he wouldn't do the work in our home without further issue. He has yet to respond. I will never contact his company again and will not recommend anyone to use this company. I am sure the work he does is wonderful, too bad he is incapable of any kind of exceptional customer service, not to mention actually starting the work that he commits to.

Did an EXCELLENT Job! Was recommended by a friend... I emailed a picture of the broken gate, asked for an estimate of costs, Raphael was very quick to respond. Communicated with me to let me know the status of the materiel order and was happy to see a completed gate!! Very much appreciated he could email or txt me as I am hard of hearing and he made it so easy to work with him. The gate works perfect!! and the price was GREAT too!!

We hired R&G to remodel a full bathroom, a half bath and kitchen, install laminate flooring and paint. He also repaired our French doors. He and his employees were very professional. They do great work! I would highly recommend their services.

We bought a house on foreclosure about 4 years ago, and have made some home improvements here and there on our own. We recently decided to do some work on our first floor, however we have 3 children whom are actively involved in multiple activities, so finding the time to paint and do repairs was almost impossible. We decided to contact R&G Home Improvements. Rafael came to our house and gave us a free and fair estimate. His team came in and fixed all of the blemishes on the walls, painted the entire first floor and the hallway of the top floor, painted all the doors and baseboards, fixed a water issue in my daughter's closet as well as the plumbing in the downstairs bathroom. The R&G team was punctual, worked diligently throughout the day, and cleaned up after themselves daily; leaving no trace that they were there. Rafael is a pleasure to work with, listens attentively, and is extremely informative with his ideas/intentions. We need to have some work done in the summer on the outside of our home and he will be the first person we call.

We used R&G Home Improvement 2 times now. Both times Raphael came to my house, accessed the issues we were having and explained what needed to be done. He wrote up a free estimate with a breakdown of what we needed to have done and a few extra things We wanted priced out for future work. His pricing for the jobs were very good and fair as to other estimates we had from other contractors. R&G home improvement was reffered to us by a trusted source so we decided to give them a try.
The first time the came to our house the repaired a leak in our family room ceiling. Because of the leak happening for so long there were mold issues that needed to be addressed above the ceiling. Raphael and his team were able to repair the leak which was coming in through the siding. They went over and beyond with the repair doing a little extra than they had to do (once they got into the job) to assure the leak was fixed. The did a great job cleaning up the mold and repairing the Sheetrock making it look like they were never there.
The second time we used R&G home improvement was for a leak in our roof on the second floor. Tbey had to replace some shingles, the roof cap, and repair the plywood on the roof because it was deteriorated. Inside the ceiling in our second floor hall has to be repaired. Raphael came out and did the repairs himself. With his busy schedule and all his men being on other jobs at the present time he made sure to squeeze us in and take care of us. Once again he did a great job at a fair price.
Overall, I am writing this review because I am very pleased with our experiences my wife and I have had with R&G Home Improvement. They were very professional, efficient, and friendly. Raphael is a good man who knows his profession. He took lots of pictures through the process to show me what was going on and what they did. They cleaned up after the work was done where it was as if nobody ever step foot in our house. Again, R&G Home Improvement was a great choice. Thank you again to Raphael and your team!!!

R&G Home Improvements are the ultimate “one stop shop”!! This is the first job that Rafael and his crew have done at our house and we just can’t thank them enough. We found R&G contracting after a long process of dealing with six different contractors who gave us ridiculously high priced estimates for fixing a rotten face board on the front of our house. Their only concern was to do a quick fix without actually addressing the root of the problem. Rafael took his time to find out why we had this reoccurring problem and gave us several alternatives to have it fixed. The estimate price was fair and they went out of their way to ensure that once repaired, the front of the house was freshly painted and looked beautiful all around. They also repaired two large holes in the ceiling in our dining room, which had a stucco designed quite challenging to replicate. After they fixed it, you can’t even tell where the repairs were done. They also fixed our siding, which saved us money since we didn’t have to replace it at this time, but when we do, I know we can trust them with the installation. I am so glad we took our time finding the right contractor, because R&G were worth the wait. At a time when it is so hard to find someone honest, competent, reliable and affordable to trust your home to, I would trust Rafael and his crew with any future repairs.

Rafael has done several jobs at my house. He replaced the roof, remodeled two bathrooms and our master bedroom, and fixed a leak in the sunroom, now he is working on redoing the entire first floor of our home. Rafael is replacing and installing a complete brand new kitchen, installing hardwood floors, and repair walls imperfection and paint.

You would ask why I keep asking Rafael for his services, is merely because of his character. He always works with the customer to understand their needs and what to get done. He takes pictures and informs the customer of any surprises found during the development of his duties. This gives an opportunity to the customer to decide what course of action to take.
