Restoration 1

We have had a hellish experience with our insurance company following water damage. From the day of our loss, Restoration1 were the first people to come. Amanda, Mario, and Quay have been our lifesavers throughout this genuinely terrible process, going above and beyond to advocate, assist, and reassure us. From start to finish, they are the reason we’ve gotten this far in our rebuild. I recommend them highly!

What am amazing team! Marty, Quay, DJ, Peyton, Jay, Mario, and Jamarcus came out to help us with water damage from an HVAC drip pan that overflowed in the middle of the night. Marty and Quay explained the process to me several times, answering all my questions. Marty even took the time to speak with my father who was helping me.

Everyone was respectful, pleasant, showed up on time with kind smiles on their face. They reassured me each day that everything was getting taken care off which gave me such peace of mind when things had been turned upside down in our home.

There is still more to do but these first three days with Restoration1 of the Low Country have been nothing short of amazing.

These people were so professional, kind and nice all at the same time. I felt so comfortable with both DJ and Mario when I was finally able to put each one with the right name. Man these two young men are some hard workers and they need a raise or their own franchise. The young lady that came out was so comforting. Restoration 1 of the Low Country was great! Miss Justine & her crew, DJ, Mario, & Demarcus, were all very professional. They were able to accommodate our needs at the last minute & were also very accommodating of our work schedules when returning to follow up on the restoration process. For experiencing water damage for the first time, Restoration 1 was able to answer our questions & make us feel more at ease going forward with repairs. Thank you!

They did amazing! Had an emergency flood situation and they were here fast to clean everything up. They were nice, helpful, punctual, and were great with communication. Quay, Mario, DJ, and TJ did a fantastic job and made my life so much easier! Highly recommend!

UPDATE: my review on the work the crew did has not changed, as they were wonderful, efficient, and good at communicating. I still think Quay, Mario, DJ, and TJ did a great job. My problem now is with billing, as I just got word from my insurance that Restoration 1 overcharged us by roughly $4,000. That being said my two stars are for the wonderful crew that worked so hard to clean my place up. But the lack of stars is for the company and whoever is in charge of billing that tried to overcharge us. People be aware this company may overcharge you, as if it wasn’t for my insurance company I would have never known how much they overcharged us.

UPDATE (again): Connected with operations manager of Restoration 1 to ask why I was being criminally overcharged. Only to be threatened to be sued, and then he told me my lawyer would try to sue my insurance company not Restoration 1. I told him he was incorrect as my lawyer (who I have been speaking to on the matter) told me that is not what would happen. He then said, "thank you" and abruptly hung up on me. Never had my questions answered as to why I was being overcharged. Don't use this company.

I’m beyond thankful for Justine, Jaylen, & DJ. Justine gave me comfort & ensured me that everything would be okay through all of my stress. These three are the perfect trio! They work great together & are very professional. Thank you all for your hardwork and dedication.

Restoration 1 was a huge help. I had a sewage pipe crack open under my house. I was working with a plumber to get all the plumbing replaced and they could not work under the house due to the sewage leak which is completely understandable. Unfortunately the only way to replace the broken sewage pipe was for the crew to be able to work under the house. Restoration 1 coordinated with the plumbers to work around their schedule and clean the mess the day before. They then returned the following morning to make sure it was still clean and put down new sand under the house so the plumbing crews could work under there safely. Their quick response and flexible scheduling reduced the time needed to replace my plumbing allowing my family to get back to a normal life quickly.

Quay, Mario, Jemell and DJ did an excellent job on our house during an unexpected situation. They were communicative and attentive, and went above and beyond in their services. Highly recommend.

Absolutely nothing but politeness and professionalism from start to finish! Justine, Mario, Peyton and Jamel was who came in immediately took control of the situation and took care of it. Extremely pleased!!

I cannot recommend the services and PEOPLE of Restoration 1 enough! They came over on Christmas Eve at 6PM and stayed until 1AM cleaning up extensive water damage (dislodged supply line)!

The continued mitigation and services over the following days (during the holidays no less) were top-notch. They always showed when they said they would and were efficient, informative and pleasant while at our home.

A HUGE thank you to the project manager Justine and her team of incredible employees (Aliah, JaMarcus, Jay and DJ) that helped us through this holiday disaster. What a team! So amazingly efficient and great at what they do.

If you’re ever in a major bind with water damage (or any other service they provide), call Restoration 1 and they will take great CARE of you!!

While the individuals that work for restoration1 are wonderful I would avoid using them at all costs. They have made an already stress situation so much worse. Their costs are outrageous; I wish I had consulted my insurance provider first. They would have warned me to steer clear of this nationally know company. Be so careful reading over what you sign with them and don’t get sucked into their message that things are emergent and you need to sign now to let them get to work.

DJ, Quay and Jaylen at Restoration 1 came and done a phenomenal job during a terrifying moment. I highly recommend using them. Thank you guys!

Marty was very helpful explaining everything that needed to be done with our water leak. He was very pleasant and caring. I highly recommend him for others to use him when needed.

I had originally wanted to remodel the master bath. Here's where things get tricky.
We removed the tile floor and the subfloor looked suspect. Next thing I know, one of the guys falls fully through the floor. This is when we discovered some serious water damage that had occurred. I was so frustrated and didn't know what to do because the remodel is now officially on hold.
I am running errands and come to the intersection of River Rd and Maybank.
Frustrated all all get out about all the delays this will cause I have no idea where to turn. I see a Res 1 truck turning off Maybank onto River and that was my sign. I called and had someone out the next day. The assessment was made and I approved the work. The most amazing person calls me to tell me the plans!
My new BFF Justine Morris calls me with what we need to schedule to regain control of this situation. Not only was her team on time, but they were amazingly professional. I was always able to contact Justine to ask any question I may have had. She was so fluid amd amazing in this process that it allowed me to schedule the other work that needed to be done. She was an epic live saver!!!

She assisted me trough the entire insurance claim process and was also amazingly available after hours to assist as well.
Always educating me on what is going on and what is best for the customer.
I have owned businesses in Charleston and I would love to have these two working for my company. They work so well together and the process was seamless and flawless.

I was one week into living into my new home when water started dribbling, then rushing through my kitchen ceiling. The Restoration One team was onsite quickly with mitigation measures to contain and eliminate the identified mold and moisture buildup. The team was fast, efficient and professional. When the original cut had to be widened for repairs, the Restoration One team was back onsite within minutes without balking or batting an eyelid to continue the work. A very good company.

The team at R1 of The Low Country is professional, attentive to every detail, responsive and passionate about the business they conduct. I have had nothing but positive interactions with them and I can vouch for the integrity of the owner to be dedicated to his customers and committed to the community!

I recently had the unfortunate experience of dealing with water damage in my home, but thankfully, I found restoration 1 to help with the restoration process. From start to finish, their service was nothing short of exceptional.

While there is nothing fun about water damage, Nate and Jaylen have been the best to have around over the last 9 days! Came to address my issue after hours! Came daily to check to make sure the restoration was on track. Fought with my insurance company on my behalf and were great all around!

I had a pipe burst in my home and Restoration One was at my house pretty much immediately to start the process of getting it back to where it was. I can’t say enough good things about Amanda especially. She understood this was my first homeowners insurance claim and helped me deal with my insurance and walked me through everything. She made what would normally be an awful process not bad at all. If you ever find yourself unlucky position of having a flood or fire and need restoration I 100% recommend Restoration one, and I would ask for Amanda!

Amanda Moore and Marty Donathan were a pleasure to work with. They helped us save our hardwood floors and was able to give us a break on the pricing. Would truly recommend using them.

Charlie Porter was at my house in 30 minutes of my call. He clearly explained the process as we waited for the crew. When they arrived, Charlie lead the crew who immediately started the remediation plus coordinated with the plumbers once they arrived. My stress was relieved by the team’s professionalism. For the next 3 days, the crew showed up everyday to evaluate and adjust their equipment. For the best of an awful situation, I recommend Restoration 1 !!!

We had Charlie out for an inspection of Water Damage and although we did not go with his company he was very professional and gave a detailed inspection.

I had a pipe burst late at night. After I got the water stopped, I gave Restoration1 a call. They showed up that night to check out the damage. They had machines drying the next day. Their best quality is their communication. Speaking with Amanda and having all my questions answered was awesome especially in a stressful time. Justine was also great running me through the technical aspects in the drying process.

Marty and Scott were absolutely amazing!! I had 2 rooms in my house flood and was so emotionally lost on what to do.

Last Friday I called & spoke with dispatch/1 of the reps. Amanda. She was very personal & honest as I expressed my situation of believing I had a mold source in the house & needed help remedying it. ACUTE AC had spoken very highly of them on the referral to begin with. Ms. Amanda expressed that they could come for a look today & would assess if it could be dealt with easily or if an industrial rep would have to test as well. I was so grateful she understood I wanted to do the lowest cost treatments first & then move to heavier ones. I expressed I'd be willing to pay whatever as long as we could work together in that fashion. Mr. Scott showed up today from the Beaufort area I believe & did a 30 min run through of the whole townhome. He expressed his findings clearly-- letting me know he didn't think it was a huge mold problem. He said Stanley Steamer could probably clean up certain parts of the AC system & that would help. I was very impressed with him as well for not being over zealous & listening to what I had understood could be the over all issues. I will be using them for whatever else might come of water damage / mold in my unit. God bless yall & continue to grow your business!!

Justine was first on the scene of a waterfall through our family room ceiling. Upon evaluation, Timothy was not far behind and went to work immediately removing water, falling sheetrock, and our rug. They placed blowers and dehumidifiers which dried the scene within a few days.
We were frantic when the catastrophe happened and Justine and other staff remained calm, empathetic and explained the process. Great job!

From start to finish, Restoration 1 made an unpleasant issue due to a shower leak in my crawlspace at my home an exceptional experience. Everyone I spoke with was very professional, pleasant, and prompt! Would highly recommend and 100% hands down would utilize their services if the need would arise in the future. I hired this company to remediate the flooding of my garage and later was given a bill stating I them more money of which no prior knowledge of before or fire the cleanup. I am not denying that they performed this service but that there was gross case of misunderstanding and communication on their part.

Had a toilet malfunction that covered our entire downstairs with half an inch of standing water. Restoration 1 got to us in less than half an hour after we called. Marty and Peyton were amazing. They basically held our hand through the entire process during the five days of cleanup, including dealing with the insurance company. They had equipment in place quickly and came back every day for moisture checks. All we had to do was file the claim with the insurance company and they took care of the rest including submitting all the documentation. They turned a nightmare into something much easier to bear. They are a local small business but you would never know it because they can handle the big disaster projects like true professionals. Their customer service was top notch, super friendly and always available to answer questions day or night, really knew their stuff and made us feel like we were their only customer (even though they are super busy). Scott, the operations manager even stopped by to check on us and make sure we were ok even though he was on his way to another job. I highly recommend Restoration 1 for any kind of damage you need mitigated and cleaned up (water, mold, fire, crime scene, sewage…etc). If this kind of thing ever happens to us again they will be the first phone call we make!

I woke up one morning to a broken line in the back of my refrigerator and an inch of water throughout the entire first floor of my house. Marty (team lead) and Scott (his boss) were at my house within an hour! It was a large job (I have a large home) and they took time to explain the process in the days it took to dry out the first floor. Their work prevented mold growth and saved our carpets... although our wood floor was toast. They worked with our insurance company too... everyone was professional and friendly and they made this crazy experience easier to handle. I recommend them without any reservations!

Justine and her partner were fantastic today! They were on time and were thorough in their checking of absolutely everything to make sure there was no moisture anywhere behind the sheet rock. They even checked our downstairs neighbor’s place to double check there was no problem in their unit either. Most importantly, Justine was friendly! She smiled at us and made sure she reassured us everything was ok. We will use Restoration 1 again if we ever need to! Thank you!

A water spot on my ceiling came up during the inspection for selling my home. Scott made it a priority to come out first thing the next morning to check everything out. He was professional, kind, and took the time to explain all of the tests he was doing. Thankfully everything was okay, but without a doubt I would use Restoration 1 of the Low County again. Thanks to Scott we are able to keep the closing timeline in check!

We had extensive water damage to our hardwood floors after pipes under our house backed up. Jamie W. from Restoration 1 of the Low Country came out immediately. He made sure our floors were completely dried out and even reported the damage to our insurance company for us. To make sure there was no further residual damage, we had fans, a dehumidifier, and air purifier in the area of the damage. Just to make sure all was well, Jamie returned two more times.

As awful as it was to have water damage like this, Jamie made us feel very secure that we were being taken care of. We would recommend Restoration 1 of the Low Country without hesitation. They make the best of a bad situation.
