Restoration 1 of Richmond North

My experience with Restoration 1 - Richmond North was mixed, leaving me feeling somewhat dissatisfied with the overall service provided. While the company showed some strengths, there were notable areas where they fell short. The service was initiated on 5 June and completed on 12 June. As of 21 June I am still pending the mitigation / job completion estimate from the company.

Of note: I did reach out to Antonio on 18 June and he returned my phone call on 19 June and explained their current work load and stated I would receive and ECD by 21 June. Therefore, I would like to mention I appreciate the customer service. However, 2 weeks for a quote seems a bit excessive to me and I would have anticipated the company contacting me more with updates / information pertaining to closing out the project. If I in fact do receive an ECD by 5 p.m. today then I will provide an update reflecting such.

*** Update*** as of 3:03 p.m. on 21 June, I received the estimate from restoration - north.

Pros:
1. Prompt Response: Restoration 1 - North Richmond responded quickly to our initial call and arrived at the site promptly. Their swift action in assessing the water damage was commendable. Antonio was the coordinator of this project and set the tone extremely high from the beginning, ensuring I was informed of how the “projected project” would go and established expectation management .

2. Professional Staff: The on-site team was professional and courteous, consistently maintaining a respectful demeanor throughout the project.

Cons:
1. Communication Issues: There was a noticeable lack of clear and consistent communication throughout the project. I often found ourselves in the dark regarding the next steps after the drying process, unless I initiated the conversation first leading to unnecessary stress and confusion. Restoration One, initially informed me that they had a few contractors that could conduct the re-build however, only one contacted me after 6 June within 96 hours of Antonio informing me that they would contact me. This resulted in my coordinating and obtaining my own contractors due to the lack of effort/delay in scheduling. (I could have already coordinated additional contractors, if I would have known sooner) The Drywall individual finally contacted me on 18 June to schedule an appointment (approx: 12 days after)

2. Delays in Reconstruction- The project has taken significantly longer than initially estimated. While I did anticipate a few delays, the extended timeline and lack of updates was frustrating. So frustrating to the point where I decided to just hire my own re-construction team for majority of the required work. Matt Van Olst from Floor Trader was great and very responsive, I recommend Restoration One continue utilizing him!

Restoration 1 - Richmond North managed to address the water damage, the re-construction process wasn’t as streamlined as I expected, the overall experience was marred by communication issues, delays, and inconsistency with scheduling the re-construction . I believe there are areas for improvement and would recommend potential clients ensuring clear communication and detailed agreements before proceeding with their services. I would have for sure went with a different company knowing what I know now!

Consummate professionals and excellent service. Courteous and hard working techs showed up and did great work. Very affordable. I’m so happy with the results! I wholeheartedly recommend Restoration1 for mold removal.

I recently hired Restoration 1 of Richmond North for a basement mold remediation project, and I couldn't possibly be any happier with the results.

From the start, Antonio was responsive, on time, friendly, and up-front about what would be involved. These are not qualities you usually expect from companies these days, which makes Antonio and his team at Restoration 1 all the more impressive.

Throughout the entire project Antonio made sure I was informed and knew what to expect. His team started work right on the scheduled time, and coordinated with multiple subcontractors to complete the project. All of the subcontractors they brought in were top notch as well. Antonio continued coordinating with them even after his portion of the project was completed. He told me at the beginning of the project that he'd see it all the way through, and he followed through with his promise.

I don't often take the time to write reviews, but the reviews here on Google are part of what convinced me to go with Restoration 1 of Richmond North for my project, and I'm happy to write another review praising them, they absolutely deserve it.

Restoration 1 did a wonderful job remediating the mold in our attic and crawlspace. The team was very thorough and even found a plumbing leak that our contractors missed. Without them, the plumbing issue would have been unaddressed with active ongoing water leakage. They were efficient, fair, and professional. We highly recommend them!

When our damage occurred it was early evening.(6:00pm) The service arrived and did not leave until 10:30 -11:30 pm making sure that our home was secure. So comforting when a disaster occured that we contacted Restoration 1.God must have sent Angels.

Mike's knowledge, foresight, and honest communication makes him and his company stand out in his industry. Having experienced 2 different water damage events in my home over the years, it is essential to have someone properly remedy the situation with the appropriate level of care and attention to detail as they would their own home and go to battle for you with the insurance company, if necessary.

Many companies will cut corners and do only the minimum to finish as quickly as possible for their own benefit...Mike will ensure the job is done appropriately and effectively because his top priority is doing the job right and ensuring the safety and health of his customers.

Restoration 1 is an excellent company to work with. Mike and his team have helped many of our clients with exceptional service.

I used Mike and his team in a crisis to figure out where the water leak was coming from in my home. They informed me it would be a few hours and they arrived in less than an hour. The tech on site immediately told me to not worry and allow him to work towards a resolution and he would find the source of the leak - and he did so in my three story home within a matter of minutes. They were all extremely polite and professional at a time when it really mattered the most. I highly recommend Mike and his team for any water, fire or smoke damage issues/remediation that is needed. They are the most honest and experienced team that you will ever meet at such a delicate time in your life. Very responsive and very, very fair!

Unknown to us, we had several pinholes in our crawlspace copper piping that caused mold and water damage. The plumbers wouldn't even look at it without cleaning the water damage first. Brandon and Tim were dispatched and immediately went to work doing all the necessary work to remove and treat all the mold and water damage. They were always on time, talked us through everything, were kind to our pets, and overall great people. Can't recommend this company enough. Thanks Brandon, Tim and Ben!

My neighbor recommended Restoration 1 who worked on her house after recent flooding. I called Restoration 1 and Mike came the same day on the holiday weekend to evaluate and address my concern from recent water leak. He was so nice, thorough, professional, and knowledgeable. Most importantly, Mike was so honest. He told us we don’t need any thing done and even gave us the name of the drywall man we can use. If we have any issue in the future, I know who to call now. Restoration 1 of Richmond North has a great team that does great work. I had a rental house that had a neglected water leak. The team had to sister new stringers under the house, remediate the mold, install a new shower, flooring and paint. They were on time, efficient, did what they said they would do. What more can you ask for from a contractor. I would recommend them to anyone.

They came immediately to our rescue! Basement was flooded and they started the clean up in the same day. Everyone was friendly, prompt and professional. Most of all they did a great job! Everyone wore their mask and followed covid precautions. I highly recommend them!!

When my house was flooding I called for help and Mike and his team were at my house within an hour. It was a very hard day for me and they were kind and patient. They took their time to make sure they did all they could to get my house dry and safe to live in. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs help with damage and remodeling of their home. Some of the nicest men I have ever met and honest. I truly hope to never need them for this again, but will always be thankful they were there when we did!

I was selling my home and it was found that there was a few things that needed to be done to get the sale that I wanted. Restoration 1 referred to complete the work. These guys were great and their level of work passed the inspection while the work was still being done.

When my sump pump backed up and my basement flooded with about a foot of water, I had no clue where to turn. I posted some things on facebook and I was referred to Mike and his team first and foremost. Mike picked up immediately. Despite being backed up with tons of other home floods due to the torrential rains, Mike still came over that day and brought a mobile pump to help get the water out. He checked back with me the next day to see if the water had resided, which it had. He immediately had his team over there to set up fans. Wthin another few days once things had dried out a bit, his team went to work in expert fashion. They cut out a foot of drywall (which the drywall repair person said was the best he'd ever seen), ripped up the old carpet, removed the baseboard, and hauled everything away while still drying everything else out. While Mike offered to help out with the repair work since they are a licensed contractor, I opted to do it myself as I'm close friends with several tradesmen and my insurance wasn't going to cover everything. Mike also offered to work directly with my insurance, but since I knew I'd be paying for multiple things out of pocket, I just handled it myself. Once my invoice arrived, I thought there might be some incorrect things or I was possibly unsure of what the charges were for. Mike rechecked all his notes and accurrately explained everything to me so I could understand everything that was done. I hope I never need to call Mike again, but he has certainly earned my business or any referrals I can send his way.

We used restoration one two times and they were awesome!. Once at our old house when we needed mold remediation and once at our new house when we had a massive hot water leak in our crawl space. Mike and his team were hard working and completely restored our crawl space. They are hard working and do great work! We highly recommend them !!

Mike and his team at R1 are absolute lifesavers. We walked in to our house after work to discover a flooded basement - we called R1 and Mike was at our house within the hour with a team of five professionals working to remediate the water and dry out the space. Shortly thereafter he worked to rebuild and replace all that was damaged and now our basement is back to the condition it was in prior to the flood. Call this company first!
My first restoration responder was not ready to start until 2 mos. later.
I called the insurance company who recommended a 2nd company who came out right away, but another month went by with no follow-up.
Then they said they'd check the schedule and get back to me...5 mos. later, still no call. Finally, I called Michael @ Restoration 1. He made an initial visit to discuss what needed to be done before their part could be started. He kept in touch by phone and email throughout. Miles & Michael came out to do the restoration, and were professional and courteous while doing a great job!

Incredibly efficient, neat and professional. Very attentive to our desires and accommodating to our schedule. Don't want to have another situation where they are needed, but would certainly call on them before any other provider if needed.

I needed some mold remediation done in order to sell my home, and Restoration 1 was by far the most reasonably priced out of 3 estimates that I received! They did a fantastic, and thorough job! They were also able to come out and perform the work in a quick amount of time. I would highly recommend them!

Restoration 1 did a great job with unbelievable customer service. They were tasked to complete work under the house with no need for entry, so no one was home at the time. While on the job they discovered a leak in the main water line under the house. I was at work and unable to leave immediately and my partner was out of town. Being new to the area we did not know a reputable plumber. On our behalf, Michael reached out to a plumber he knew, got them on site immediately and fixed the problem. By the time I was able to get home, both the work of Restoration 1 and the plumber was complete. I can't thank them enough for not only doing their own outstanding work, but really coming to a customer's rescue and providing above-and-beyond customer service.

I had a small, slow leak of my garage roof. Over time a large amount of mold grew on the ceiling and walls. I looked on Home Advisor and contacted two contractors who specialize. Restoration 1 was a bit less expensive and I arranged for Mike Robertson to come out. He was very professional and did remediation of the mold. His work was excellent and he was delightful to work with. I can highly recommend Restoration 1.

I’d like to extend my personal things to Mike and his team! I had a refrigerator leak that caused a significant mold and water issue in my house. Mike was there within a day, and was very conservative in his approach, trying to save hardwood floors that may have just been ripped out by another service provider.

Mike was fastidious about coming back to the house and checking moisture levels on a daily basis, ensuring that our house was safe in a very quick timeframe.The moldy smell that was in the house is now gone, and I can rest assured that our family is safe and in a healthy home.

Mike and his team at Restoration 1 are fantastic! They do great work, and are prompt, responsive, professional, and fair. I had a pipe burst under the kitchen that completely saturated the base cabinets, subfloor, and floor joists. After I shut off the water, I called Restoration 1 and within a few hours, Mike had fans and dehumidifiers running in the kitchen and under the house to get everything dried out before mold could begin to grow. Mike checked in every day with updates and was flexible in scheduling times to come out and check on progress. He was also happy to give insight on the insurance process and rebuilding, and he is always pleasant and enjoyable to talk with. Most importantly, the work was very thorough, everything was dried, and my rebuild is progressing nicely. If I ever find myself in a similar situation, I will absolutely call Restoration 1, and I recommend you do the same!
